I dont think the BSB r going downhill @ all, because doesn't anyone @ all believe wat the guys have 2 say 4 themselves? "we're not breaking up" "This is just a different way of expressing myself" " the only way i see an end for the group is when one of us dies" "we're as close as brothers" "this is what we love to do, and this is what we've been doing". The backstreetboys r so talented and have billions of fans, and this site proves it. I dont think they're going anywhere except to the studio and promo. I've the boys since 1997 and i always will, no matter what happens. KTBSPA.

I forgot to say one thing! A lot of people are like, "oh the boys aren't breaking up, they said so themselves." Now I'm NOT saying they're breaking up. But if they were having problems and were considering taking a break from the group, they wouldn't tell us until it was made official. If some radio DJ asked Nick if they're breaking up, he wouldn't be like, "Yeah, we're going to break up next Thursday at 5:00." Of course he's going to deny it. You just have to find an area between gullability and refusing to see the truth when it's thrown right in front of you, which is basically what this article does. Don't refuse to believe it just because you don't like what it says. The New York Times doesn't print rumors and crap.

Like it or not, that article was the harsh truth for many fans. BSB hasnt had the easiest road, or the most honest. It is apparent, however, that there are many unsolved problems among the group. As a fan, the only thing you can do is continue to support them. But I must admit, after reading that and finding all the dirt I have a new perspective on the boys that I'm not sure is in their best intrest. Hopefully, everything will work out!

What a shit(sorry for the bad word :))!!!I hate this journalist!!Why they are always comparing the BSB with NSYNC? BSB are popular for since 10 years maybe less but anyway they are still popular.NSYNC are just popular for since humm i dunno but less than the BSB.Backstreet Boys are not a boyband. i'm supporting Nick for his solo album and i still love the BSB(I,m a fan since 1996). The journalists all hate the BSB and they are trying to make the fans hate them and make us love NSYNC if we hate them.

well, i think the article helped answer a lot of unanswered questions about the boys that i had. It's kind of scary in my opinion, i mean im going to school soon to someday hopefully become a singer, and i have never known the music business to be so dark, i have always known it to be complicated but never to this level. Now i feel sorry for the boys and wonder how they managed to hold on for so long and keep going despite such problems, and how they always made my day go by well, when i'd see them on TV, and in reality behind the smiles they were miserable. I don't think that we should act so naive and believe that they were getting all this fame and money and not paying a price for it. Every thing that's good comes with some repurcussions, and i speak of expierience. True that it was definatly too much but unfoutunatly it happened. It seems all too coincidential to me, i'll get a little personal so you see how much i'm heartbroken by this. i'll make it as short as i can. I was born in portugal and moved to the US in 1995. At the time in Potugal i remeber hearing the boys's singel "we've got it going on" but i believe that i was just too young to even pay attention to it. along time i grew up and moved once again. i entered a whole new school and i met these two girls whom i quickly became really good friends with. And that began with our common infatuation with the boys. we spoke, laughed. and enjoyed the concerts of the boys, i thank them now more than ever for those concerts which might of been really hard to do under the circumstances they were living with. but anyway, on my senior year in high school i always thought the boys would have a CD out for me to enjoy, but never did. Eventually me and the two best friends that i had known for the past 4 or almost 5 years of my life abruptly stopped talking to me. In many senses the backstreet boys got us together and in another because of their absense we began to drive each other out of each other's lives. I really took a blow when that happened to me, but i now am moving on with my life and getting it started. I do know that bsb's problems are way more drastic than mine but, i got up from the rut that i was and i have all hopes that they will too.

*sigh* I just have one question...now I only read the article once but I don't seem to remember any Backstreet bashing going on in there. Everyone's saying to leave the Boy's alone and to stop criticizing them. Where in that article were they criticized??? They stated FACTS. Sure it wasn't something us as fans want to hear but that doesn't mean we have to yell at the messenger. To us, the boys' will always be known as "the Boys" because we love them so much. And come on, we've all made friends because of them. lol Those facts do not change and neither does their talent. Stop bashing the poor reporter who was assigned to this article. It was a pretty impartial article, as I've mentioned before. And to Molly in PA...what you said was very well said. :)

I think the article said a lot of things that fans can't see or don't want to see. It's not as if the person who wrote this article just starting writing anything, the writer is from the new york times, so some time was spent into how this band is slowly falling. It show's how stars make mistakes, and how many mistakes backstreet has made. Cuz everyone does make mistakes.

P.S. I dont like the title of this either - The lost boys , how a pop sensation came undone. That's so not true! And to prove it, the only things that the fans can do right now, is KTBSPA, support our guys no matter what, and vote like crazy to get our boys back on the charts, at number one, where they belong! Also, does anyone else agree that the ONLY reason NSYNC got so HUGE was because of all this from JIVE?
Submitted by anonymous from USA
I think that it's not fair what Jive did to the backstreet boys, they're supposed 2 be a really good label. However, pairing this and the article about black and blue really selling 3.6 million copies, it makes people start 2 wonder - first of all, the backtreet boys ARE NOT "OVER" but it kind of seems like the record label is leaning towards NSYNC to give them more promotion, and that's not fair. i agree w/ melanie, the backstreet boys are normal average evry day people, (who can sing like nothing else!) so they go through the financial business just like everyone else. However i dont think this is fair based on the rivalry between the backstreet boys and NSYNC that the media set up, especially since they're now on the same lable.

First of all, anyone who says that the backstreet boys are over or gone, has never really been a fan of the bsb, and they obviously aren't paying attention. ALL members of the BSB have said that they aren't going anywhere, and as long as we keep buying the albums, they won't go anywhere. If they do their own things, it's justt o show everyone a new side of them. They had solo songs and nobody complained. If you truly are fans of the bsb, keep buying the albums and KTBSPA!

Ok, first of all i'm sick and tired of hearing everyone say "oh, it's the end of the backstreetboys." The backstreet boys aren't going anywhere they have sais it them self!!! Just because they change labels and managers or whatever doesn't mean that gonna stop making music!!!! they make the music for us the fans! we love them and they love us! personally i've loved the backstreetboys since 1997 and i always will i'll support them in ANYTHING they do!!!

I'm informed, but also extremely p.o.'d and think the writer greatly exaggerated: i.e.: Executives working with the BackStreet Boys said band members had stopped getting along after the release of "Black and Blue." . Well, we the REAL fans know the REAL truth: that's a bunch of BS! So is

Well, first of all, I thought that the article was very informative and it really explained a lot of things. I think that a lot of us had been suspicious about things for awhile, and the article just laid the cards down on the table. I was just gonna leave my post at that, but after reading what other people had to say, there are some things I need to comment on.
Submitted by Kylie Thompson from Rochford Essex United Kingdom
Well, for starters I'd like to say that I really miss the Boys at the moment. It's been such a long time since they released anything. I loved them when they released Millennium and Black & Blue. I still love them now. I'll never stop loving them.

Hey. What I read in that article was really not what I would've ever suspected. All the things they said about Backstreet Boys and what they've been going through...I don't think they had a right to go through all that. They were continuously comparing the Boys to N SYNC, which is something that the BSB and their fans completely hate! The one thing that worried me the most was about how Nick stayed back and kept with the Firm, but the rest of the boys didn't. Is that supposed to mean something? Something important? That kind of made me worry. So what if Nick is doing a solo album, he has said he still wants to be part of the Boys and the new album. Anyways...Backstreet will pull through. They always do. We can be sure of that. They'll do anything they need to to stay together, and make their careers more of what they want. Sorry if this isn't understandable...I'm kind of thinking of things as I go. I don't even know if what I'm saying is really what I'm trying to say. Lol. All I know is that article kinda made me mad. Anyways...KTBSPA!!!
