Alright, here's the deal. We ALL know that BSB paved the way for not only NSYNC but for many other artists out there, but that's how it goes. It may not be fair, but throughout the course of music history it's been that way. But what makes me mad are all of these critics claiming that the days of BSB are over. I mean, yea I don't know the boys so who knows, maybe they are comming to an end, but I doubt it. These music critics are so hypocritical sometimes. In one article they talk about how the boys have been together for 10 years and have paved the way for all other artists. But in the same article they write about how they are going through a tough time that they will not overcome; when in the paragraph before they talked about their career surviving Brian's heart surgery, the backlash from 2 Backstreet weddings, Nick's arrest, AJ's rehab, and mulitple label changes. So they can get through all that crap but can't get through a time where Nick wants to experiment on his own and where they are selling only 8 million records not 10? (i don't know if those numbers are right, but you get the point) there are thousands of bands who would die to sell a quarter of that amount, but for BSB it's horrible.
what it comes down to is that 10 years is a long time, and a lot of stuff happens in ten years which if you put behind you, you'll move on and if you dwell on it you'll lag behind. It looks to me that the boys have moved on in every problem they've come across and they give me no reason to believe that it's different now.

All I would like to say is the following:
NSync have one leader of the group, Justin. And he won't stay once his solo carreer takes off. So that group will not be celebrating its 10th anniversary ever. This year the guys are working on the new album, taking time for themselves and allowing each to do what they want to do. In Nick's case that is doing a solo album. Great. I'm looking forward to it.
And next year when we are celebrating BSB 10 years, that is the time to give us the next BSB album. They were forced to get Chapter One out before they wanted it, well not with this album.
And unlike NSync, BSB don't have just one leader and 4 backing vocals. They are 5 individuals with all of them the ability to shine.
I'm not worried. Let them all just think BSB is going down. Won't they all be surprised when they rise out of the ashes, stronger and better than ever before.
No, I'm not worried at all. Just looking forward to the next great thing that they have in store for us all.

Hey i just wanna say everytime BSB does somrthing Nsync has to do it plus these guys don't sing that great theey have weak ass lyrics gay music vids and unorignal dance moves and um why do girls like Justin I think h is ugly as our the other guys. Plus Nsync cries for attention hy BSB gets it naturally In 10 yrs if BsB is still around I il not be surprised but if Nsync is well i already kno that's impossible!

You know what pisses me off? Everything about 'N Sync and their easy road to fame, if that's what you want to call it.
The Backstreet Boys worked their arses off since 1993 and finally break the doors down in the states in 1997. They had success everywhere but the U.S. first. Then when those doors were open, everyone decides to go through. Including 'N Sync and their huge egos. Ok, so they get their fame, and with Britney's help, they gain success in the states. And as you all know, once you're big in the states, you're big everywhere else...considering the states is the most powerful country in the world and the most influential.
Now there's all this BS about how the Backstreet Boys is #2 and how 'N Sync is so much better. Those people can just shove all that shizzo up their rear. There's more talent in Nick's pinky than in all of 'N Sync.
It doesn't help that Jive is the worst label ever. Talk about taking advantage of people and being greedy.
Basically, if it wasn't for the Boys, and Britney dating Justin, 'N Sync wouldn't be "huge". I guess being a sell-out brings popularity. And Justin, will you please stop acting black for popularity.

I am choosing not to belive any of this bull sh*t until i hear it straight from the boys themselves... and when and IF i do, I will be deaply saddened. I love nick, but I also love bsb... the group itself made me love them... and no matter what happenes, I will always love them... KTBSPA

The only thing I agreed on was what they mentioned about Clearchannel buying out the tour and that that was why the prices were so high-now it finaly makes sense!
I know Nicks album will do great, hopefully debut at #1! Remember, the sales only count for the first week if you buy it in the store.

I have one last comment and then I will not post again. BSB had top ten hits when *NSYNC was still serenading shamu at sea world, so the New York Post, and especially MTV can blow it out their kazoo! I don't believe BSB is breaking up or recording without Nick and I refuse to believe that until I hear that from them! Now, everyone KTBSPA! "Now or Never" October 29th! New BSB album early next year! That's all that matters! Much love to all the supporters! Bah humbug to all the haters! BSB forever!

I think nick's album "Now or Never" as a much bigger change than justin's "Justify" because nick's like has alittle bit of everything in it and justin only has rap and rap just doesn't fit justin so I think Nick will really out beat Justin's.

LOOK WHAT THE A$#HOLES SAID ABOUT NICK'S ALBUM. THEY PISS ME OFF:The New York Post reports industry insiders are saying Justin Timberlake's new album 'Justified' is a better debut solo effort than Backstreet Boys rival Nick Carter's 'Now Or Never'. "Justin’s new album, ‘Justified,’ is amazing," said one industry insider. "He is going to be huge." As for Carter, his disc is said to be such a disappointment, his label Jive almost didn’t release it. For their part, a Jive rep told the Post, "We are behind Nick 100 percent. He’s doing his video for ‘Help Me’ next week, and we fully support him."

'Now or Never' comes out October 29. No other big albums come out that day so I think Nick will have a top 3 debut, maybe even number 1. However, Christina Aguilera's album release date hasn't been announced yet but it's supposed to be late October.
'Justified,' Justin's album, comes out November 12. Dru Hill's new group album comes out Nov. 12 as well. I think that will definately debut number 1. Nick has a good chance of debuting No.1. Justin doesn't have a chance. And we all know that worldwide Nick will definately sell more than Justin.
All you people outside the U.S., you gave BSB their initial success. Represent for BSB and support Nick's album.

Happy Birthday HOWIE!!!!Well i think its good that we as fans can all talk about this stuff...thanks to backstreet.net!
Neways i thought the article was alright...the thing that i didnt really like much was how it kept sayin that the backstreet boys let down their fans when gettin married and also when they told us that AJ was goin to rehab. These ppl who wrote this article r not fans....i think its amazing that backstreet boys can b soo open with their fans and not lie to us and tell us the truth and whats goin on! also it said that the boys went down from the time of the realease of black and blue album...sayin that they looked older and more mature....well hello they were older and they did mature!!!! They dont have to try and b young to keep their fans still interested in them like N SYNC! bsb and nsync r all the same age for the most part...its jsut that nsync does what they think will sell and bsb do what they love and if ppl like it thats good if they dont....meh....!bsb have been at this for a lot longer than n sync neways...who cares if they matured??? I love it! it shows us that their human and have lives too!
Well neways i hope that when their new album does come out they once again take the world by storm!!!! OHHH theres another thing...nsync is all for the us which isnt a bad thing but BSB r successfull WORLD WIDE!!!! id like to c nsync try their own "around the world tour" like backstreet did!!! it would b nothin compared to our boys!!They r #1 and will continue to b #1!
Later...KEEP THE BACKSTREET PRIDE ALIVE...lol!!!

Happy Birthday D!! Sweet D is 29 today, wow they sure are getting older aren't they? Kev will be 30 in October, tee hee, old man. : ) I am glad I read the article because now I know what they are going through and it makes me love them even more. Nick is young, and like the album title says, Now or Never. He probably figures if he is going to try a solo career now is the time. I disagree with his choice to keep The Firm as his agent but we don't know the whole story. Unfortunately it's not just the guys anymore, now others influence their decisions for reasons of their own. Hint hint Leighanne. I have faith in the boys and I know they will ALL be back with a new album in 2003! KTBSPA : )

What a load of RUBBISH!!!!It is just another Scare story to panic us BSB Fans!!!!.
The BSB are not declining that much this is because they still produce chart toping music. Drowning got to number 1 in America and it also got to number 3 in England. So there's no problem with chart positions. It's Not a disaster if a group doesn't chart at number 1 anyway. I would call Anywhere between the numbers 1-40 successful. I would only call it a disaster if the songs constantly charted below 100!!!.
The Tabloids, Press, News and Media are all ways making stuff up!!! and they love printing scare stories that say the BSB are going to split up. Or they just like to say negative things about them. (I stopped believing them a long time ago LOL!!!!).I PREFER FACT RATHER THAN FICTION. I ONLY BELIEF A STORY IF IT CAN BE PROVED TO BE 100% True.
I Feel that We should NOT worry about how many millions of copies that the BSB sell. The BSB have said lots of times that they are not worried about how many CD's they sell. The BSB are more worried about the quality of the CD's.
I love the BSB and i'm not worried about other groups statistics or if another group break the BSB sale records. Or if another group sells more CD's in the first week of sale. (There only figures any way this doesn't say anything about the quality of the CD's)
I know the BSB have been through many rough times before. The BSB have been through many ups and downs through out their career. However they have come through them each time and they have come out the other end stronger. I have faith and i believe in the BSB and I'm sure you do too.

I think it is important for this to be said.
I have been a BSB fan for the past 6 years and those 5 men have done nothing but change my life a great positive way. Their music and the way they carry themselves as people has been an inspiration to me in a very important time in my life. I learn lessons from their lives that make me think and reflect on my on, and while this article may speculate or try to prove some things, one thing this article has proved is that I'm not alone in this. And I am not the only one these guys have managed to effect. Just look at all these different people from different places giving their input about their situation. It shocks me that they have the perception of not having a loyal fanbase when all of you, like me, take time out of your lives to give so much support to theirs. These guys go through streotyping, belittling, unreachable expections, media blasts, personal misery and attacks on their character as humans beings all the time, just so they can put out music to help US feel better. And all I can say to that is 'WOW.'
For long time, I felt as though I owed BSB something, but of what they have done for me.
But I felt helpless as nothing more than anything fan. But there's strength in numbers and I take it its plenty of us who just started liking BSB or have never left. And I know its great to be able to come to a website like this and post our feelings, but I think its about time we let everyone else know how we feel. I encourage everyone to request Nick's so on the radio and much as possible, and support him on his solo journey. I hope that you can all go buy his album and enjoy it, because I believe he will not dissapoint. I want you all the believe in BSB and know that you can only grow stronger in adversity.
They are only humans and will have times os fault, doubt, and tension, but its when you come out of it, your a better person from it.
I want you to all remember that we make the Backstreet Boys careers. We're the ones that garner the revenue for them to tour and continue making music. We are why they love doing what they do so much. KTBSPA!

I have been telling people for *so* long how much the Backstreet Boys suffered and strove for their success, but no one really listened to me. I'm so glad that someone wrote an article about it that people are actually reading and responding to. If you all notice, though, not once have the Boys complained about how badly they were shortchanged---they're troopers, and they've got what *N'SYNC doesn't have: spirit. The first, the best, the only in my opinion:BSB.KTBSPA, everyone.
