Why then, did the reporter not get a quote from Nick about that? Why didn't the reporter call Nick and say.. your manager just said you were replaceable. Do you have a comment? And don't say, he might have. Because if he did, they would have printed that. It seems to me that someone dropped the ball at the New York Times. This album has been Nick's salvation. Plus, he has repeatedly said that he will always be a BSB; they are family. Where are the other four? Why haven't they come out and publicily supported Nick's solo project? It took guts for Nick to do what he's done. I'm very proud of him. I can't say the same for the other four. Bleah. There wasn't any mention of their enormous success all over the world. I've been a fan since 1996 when they first released 'We've got it going on' in Europe. Eventhough I'm not as fanatic as I used to be, I still love their music and want them to be successful. I reaize that BSB are going thorugh a hard time right now and negative press like this is only making things worse. And I disagree about the part where revealing that AJ was going into rehab helped with the downfall. I personally appreciated the honesty and loyalty to their fans that BSB showed, where as other band in that situation would have lied about it. Plus, I really don't believe that *NSYNC is any better off than BSB. Yes, BSB are fading, but so are NSYNC. But for some reason, the Press chooses not to prey on them. I personally don't believe, despite what this article says, that the Backstreet Boys have disappeared (I think all the fans supporting them on this site are proof of that) or that they are breaking up just because Nick is going solo. But maybe if the media gave them a little more attention, a little more positive attention that is, then it wouldn't seem as though N'Sync have pushed the boys off the face off the earth. Frankly I think it's great that BSB takes time off between albums rather than constantly being in the media spotlight like N'Sync...it gives the fans time to miss them, and want them back, and not get sick of them! I used to be an N'Sync fan (though nowhere near as much as I love BSB of course!) but I got so sick of them being everywhere 24/7, not to mention the fact that they turned into the Justin Timberlake band plus 4 backup singers. The Backstreet Boys' fans, or their true fans, are going to stick behind them forever, whatever happens, whereas N'Sync are really just the media darlings right now. Once all their teeny bopper fans grow up, I think N'Sync might end up like another group that started with the letter N...NKOTB ring a bell?? When I read the part about the group storming out of "the Firm's" office, I really felt bad. What can we do to help as fans....I really dont know what to do. I think it is hard for us to see them having to struggle with something, although they are human. AJ Mclean (my baby) checked himself into rehab! (well ok let's imaging for one moment he would had never gone into rehab, he would still be drinking and he would still be depressed. Let me tell you depressing is not something to f*** with, it could lead to a lot of dangerous stuff for example: drugs, abuse, accidents on and off stage, and even worse death. so just picture it your sitting on your couch watching tv when the news comes on "BACKSTREET BOYS MEMBER AJ MCLEAN WAS FOUND DEAD IN HIS HOTEL ROOM AND NEXT TO HIM A SUICIDE NOTE" (god phorbid), it isn't something you would like to picture but it's reality and you wouldn't be so happy now would you.) so think about it, is this reasons to dump bsb when they need us the most? are these a perfectly good reasons to stop supporting bsb?
