Well,whoever it is I'm telling thaem that in no way are the Backstreet Boys over.I konw there will come a time when they go their seperate ways,but that time isn't here yet! Just because they're taking a break (which they deserve!),and Nick decided to try something on his own dosen't mean they all hate each other and decided to break up.And even if they did,thay have enough respect for us (their fans) to tell us! Didn't they tell us when Kevin and Brian got engaged,and later on married? Didn't they tell us when AJ was having so much trouble and had to take time off to get help? Then they told us about AJ getting engaged. They've always told us the truth, and if they WERE breaking up,they would tell us. They're telling us that they are still together,and if they say that,then it's true. If they say they support Nick and his decision to make his own album,then they do! I'm so freakin sick and tired of all the press putting words in their mouth like they're the ones who are trying to make them break up!!! That articles is just...WOW! 1st of all I think they made Leighanne out to be some overprotective and controling wife in that part. 2nd of all they made it sound like BSB are the "bad guys" in this whole deal which isnt good for them. So what if *NSYNC sells more albums n everything but everyone forgets to sit down and think that BSB are MUCH better singers! I have been 2 3 BSB concerts and 1 *NSYNC concert (yes I'm the 1st to admit i went to an *NSYNC concert..What can i say I had a momentary laps of judgement lol) and yes *NSYNC concert was good and so was BSB...*NSYNC was more theatrical and focused on the sets and dancing. BSB's all focoused on the songs and their voices. When i go to a concert I want to hear people sing, like bsb, not lipsync (and yes *NSYNC DID lipsync) and dance around. You all know what I mean 3rd of all they made it seem like BSB is recording the next album without Nick. Does anyone listen to BSB anymore! They said they are NOT breaking up and Nick is NOT leaving the band. I just wish people would actually sit down and listen to them. My opinions on the article? There are many, and I may not sound coherent at times, so please bear with me. It's the first day of college. First of all, I strongly support Nick's effort to do a solo album, and I will be the first in line to buy it. I hate the way the media and MTV have once again begun a rivalry with Nick and Justin and their respective solo albums. Ever since there was a hint that the two of them were recording on their own, it started. Can't they just be allowed to be judged on their music? Second of all, "Black and Blue" sold 8 million copies, not 5.3 million. But since when is either number considered a failure? Eminem's "Marshall Mathers LP" sold 8 million copies, and that was considered a huge success. N'SYNC's "Celebrity" sold 5 million, and that was considered a success. Why is it a flop when BSB sell 8 million copies? It's not. I've spent a lot of time worrying about the Boys breaking up. As much as I try not to let rumors get to me, they do sometimes. But here's the way I look at it: They are recording another album. When it will come out, I don't know, but it gives me something to look forward to. And eventually, if the guys decide to go their separate ways, no doubt I will be upset by it. But they've all gotten involved with projects that will keep them in the minds of their fans for a long time to come. They've kept themselves visible while recording, so they're still around. They have wives, or are going to, families, charities, other business, or are on the brink of a nervous breakdown. Because seriously they go go go all the time and they need to relax. Because if they didn't and actually had released a CD this fall it wouldn't have been as good as it will be if they take the required procedures. They shouldn't release an album just to release one. Just because the media says " well it's time to do another one". But Nick on the other hand, he's ready, and he wants to do it. He's the youngest of them all, he is still figuring things out, seeing what is going on. He's 22, that is when or around the age when most people leave school and go to work. That doesn't mean they don't keep learning, they are just doing NEW things. It is time he did. And honestly he probably isn't ready to record a whole nother album with the other guys yet, but he is ready to record. If anything I think doing a solo album will make them closer, and have the media respect them more. Showing that solo albums don't slip up the boys and that it's just like an appetizer before the meal. Because at the end of the day there will still always be the Backstreet Boys, and why? I just read an interview that Nick had yesterday (I think) and here's what he had to say about the Internet-the source for almost all the Backstreet rumors... "The Internet is the best gossip in the world. You can believe some of them, and you cant believe some of them." Than the DJ asked him which should they believe? And Nick said.... "Believe what comes out of my mouth." So As to the rumors... -Did Nick tell you that Backstreet will be back with a new album? Yes -Did Nick tell you that his solo effort will not effect the guys? Yes -Did Nick tell you that the Backstreet Boys are NOT breaking up, and that he just wanted to do something on his own? Again it's a yes. So what are you people worrying for? KTBSPA Submitted by Cori from Philadelphia PA USA Date: Tue Aug 27 16:50:11 2002 Well...I haven't read the whole thread, but my basic opinion is is that #1 - Kevin isn't making many friends in the Industry, regardless of him saying everyone was nice *personally*, and #2 - Nick needs to do what Nick needs to do; otherwise it'll only get more resentful later on down the road. The "boys" are settling down now and they've been working their tails off for *years* -- they deserve a break. I think we all know their personalities well enough to know that none of them would ever publically air their differences. It's not professional and they have always, if nothing else, been professional. Perhaps they're not "like brothers" anymore, but things change. More than anything, I think the *industry* is getting between them and Jive is doing everything in its power to make some kind of rivalry between Justin and Nick to boost sales. As far as the Firm is concerned...yeah, *personally* I think Nick should have walked for my own moral reasons, but we're not (all) in the indusrty and there's a line between friendship and business. The boys are professionals and I truly believe they understand that. Again, my own two cents...Not claiming to be an authority or anything. I just think the industry is getting to them more than Nick's extra curricular activities and everyone's (read: the media) making an issue more than the group is.
