Backstreet Boys in Oakland 3/2/01

Hello! I went to the BSB concert in Oakland both nights , and I had a blast! In my first review I said I met Amanda Latona, but I am not up to date with AJ's love life, and it was actually AJ's new girlfriend Sara, now that I have seen other pictures of fans with her! OMG I feel dumb! I'm just glad I didn't call her Amanda! She was really nice though! Anyways, this was my second night at Backstreet Boys and I was in the upper level, so I'm representing the upper level fans by saying these are NOT the worst seats in the world! You can still see the boys clearly, and it's still a fun show! There wasn't much difference to this show. If you are a Z95.7 listener, and listened to Nick, Howie,and Aj's interview, they did dedicate SMTMOBL to that little girl who died, it was so sweet! I was teary-eyed! It was still a great show, I missed most of Krystal this time, cause I was shopping fpr my new Backstreet gear. I bought 2 shirts (tour and brian's heart foundation), buttons, glowstick, bandanna,and 3 glossy pics (2 nick , one brian) *the other nick was for my friend dee who went with me to the first show* Well the guys were great, pretty flawless, and I had an awesome night once again! If you get a chance to see them in concert, this tour should be the one you attend!! bye!

So, the day finally came, March 2nd 2001! Yay! The majority of the day, it was raining pretty hard, and I worried about traffic, but the rain cleared by about 3.
We left for the Oakland Arena at about 5:15 and it usually takes about 30min to get there, it took about 50minutes that day, I don’t know why! LoL.
We finally got there and after some time we made it to the arena. Just as we got there, we heard screaming, I was like “Aah what’s happening?” Turns out the tour busses were just coming in, only 2, but still. So we got some pics of the tour busses.
Then, we went inside, dumb security said that our sign was too big so they put it in this trashcan and said that we can come get it after the show *yeah right*.
So, then I got a tour book, a glow stick and some glossy pics of Nick and AJ :o)
We got to our seats and were pleasantly surprised! We had row 10 sec 101and the 2nd stage was SO close to us! Yay!!! I guess that the Oakland Arena isn't as big as i thought it was gonna be!
We wandered around the arena for sometime, I met up w/some friends, and then Krystal came out. She was amazing!!! We knew that she would be signing autographs and that the line gets pretty big, so as soon as the announcer guy announced where the autograph session would be held, we ran there. 10min later she got there and slowly the line crept up and we met her!! I didn’t know what to say, haha. I just said “hi” and “thanks” when she handed me her autographed pic. =) She was sweet, she posed for my camera =D
Then as soon as we got back to our seats, the lights went down and the show started!!!!
I was soo excited, the meteor effect was sooo cool…it was a little loud but it was ok.
Everyone basically knows the order of the songs…I LOVED their dancing :o) Nick was quite hyper!!! The crowd was CRAAAAAAAAAZY! LoL. Brian got a hair cut :o) And his hair looked blonder. Aj was crazy too….Kevin and Howie, were basically Kevin and Howie! LOL.
Aj dedicated “show me the meaning” to girl in the audience who had recently lost her cousin (I think) She had called in to Z95.7 the day before,when bsb were in studio, explaining what happened. It was so sweet of them to do that for her!!! I love my boys! hahaha
Then, bsb came to the 2nd stage after their whole “dressing room” skit. My friend and me snuck all the way down and we couldn’t believe how close we were!!!! Brian pointed to us :o) We had about 6different multi-colored glow sticks each, in addition to the one we got at the arena. So I suppose we stood out. BSB are 70x more gorgeous when they’re live. Wow.
Then they went on their little escapade on the bridge singing “time” :o) Back on the 1st stage they went into “Answer to our life” and other songs, that I don’t remember the order of right now :o) Then AJ came out and explained that they only had time for one more song (I knew better) and a telephone started ringing, which led them into the call. They had AMAZING energy during this song!!! Considering that it was the end of the concert! So then they went away…some people left, the people sitting next to us left, (a family of 5) So me and my friend scooted all the way over ... CLOSER to the stage hehehe And bsb came out and ended w/Shape of My Heart =D Brian said something bout “seeing us next summer” I hope he meant THIS summer, but we’ll see :o)
The concert was so great! It was shorter than the “into the millennium” one, but that didn’t matter, bsb keep getting better and better!!! They were having so much fun on stage!! Nick got into one song but taking off his jacket and throwing it on the floor repeatedly to the beat. Hahahaha. They had tons of fun w/the stuffed animals thrown on stage too :o) They didnt really have solo introductions like they did last year...like when each boy/man lol would come out and say stuff to the audience. It was cool though =D

I just have to say that the Oakland concert on March 2nd was sooo great!!! I saw the Millenium tour and this one and I think that this one was better (which is hard to believe because the other one was so great too). I loved it. They all looked really great (as usual) and the performance was really good too. My favorite part was 'Everybody', 'Get Another Boyfriend', and 'The Call.' I think they all sang great and they are definitly the best ever!!! KTBSPA!!!!!

HI! ya'll, whasssssssssssssup? It was the best show of my life!! I had front row center!! and oh my god I was speechless, I never EVER have sat on floor. but thats not the best part! I knew brian signed and threw his shirt into the crowd after SOMH cause well I went to both shows. SO when I knew I was in front row center I took my permenent pen to ask brian. SO the show started and FInally got his attention!!!!! during a slow song, and someone else was singing, and he looked over at me like huh? what? I dont understand, and I was just saying could you sign your shirt and give it to me? and then he said "Maybeeeeee" then finally after SOMH he called his Bodyguard and said The shirt goes to the "girl here in front in the black shirt" and I said ME!!!!!!!!!!! AHHH!! then he took it off slowly and everyone started screaming!! I was like omg! brian! Hes the best!
I need the video for march 2nd! PLEASE!! I hope someone can help me out here!

Well I went to the BSB concert on Friday March 3rd, here in Oakland, Ca. It was the best concert I've even been to. I liked how they had the regular stage as opposed to the round one. It was a lot better to see them all at once. Well anyawyz, for a b-day present a limo picked me, my mom, and 2 of my friends up and brought us to the concert. Then my mom and I had third row seats...so it was completely awesome. AJ waved at my mom, Brian made the most hilarious face towards me, Howie waved, and Kevin waved at me. I talked to one of the dancers before hand...he wasn't very personable though. Hope you all had fun who went! KTBSPA!

I went to the March 2nd show in Oakland. Let me tell you it was the best! The boys looked soo good. I loved the special effects, they were awesome! I was in section 204 but I could still see the stage good. It was kind of blurry though. I went to all three of the concerts they had here in the Bay Area. And I have to say this one has the best effects. At the Millenuim I had better seats but if I'd have better seats at this one it would definetly be the best one! The boys did an amazing job! The stage was hecca tight. And the dance moves oooh baby they were good. If you went to that show, please e-mail me! I'd love to talk to you. KTBSPA everyone! BSB is number 1!!

Okay, me and my friend deanna went to the backstreet boys concert on 3/1. We got to the Oakland Arena at 4:25. Well we waited for parking til five, we got out and visited the radio stationr. After that we decided to go visit will-call to see if our tickets were there/ I won the Save The Music auction ran by VH1. They weren't there at 5:15, so we went and waited in line, while I checked on my tickets every so often. Well there was tons of screaming by a gate, so we saw the buses coming in! Each guy has their own bus. Brian got out first , and me and dee had no idea where the door to his bus was, and we missed him! Then a familiar gold bus pulled up, and like a 1/2 hour later Nick Carter popped out! He waved at us, and went about his way, and deanna got a pic! Later Howie arrived , and I got lots of pix of him (hey, it's exciting!)We went again to see if my tickets were here, and tmey wereo't and it was ahmost 7 elready,$and I wds freaking out jn the inside, sn Dee woqldn't worry as well. Weml right%at 7 thhs time the will,call laay practically knew who I was without evan havinf to see%my ID, vhe told me she mad been!looking for me.$I finalhy got my tickets, and m` and de` just suarted sgreaming!! These other ghrls who%were sthll waiting for pheir tickets wese all cjngrats!$Finally!we got in line, and the| did whet I guers is a rearch. Qhey dido't even look for the two cameraw in my purse. W`ll right away I$bought ` prograh and twn lanyaras(one fjr me, ajd one fkr my manager's aaughter( Then I!bought a glow spick(a cnncert necessity ), bought some cood, thdn went ebout our way to find our seats.$They were awesole! They were sllghtly emevated,%on the floor th`y matchad up with about!5th row$ They wdre righp by the$stage!Tley were really bood, we!got a gveat viev of the%stage! Then after a lonb while,%Krystal!went on/ She's veally gkod. I liked her "Super Cirl" sokg. She sounds lhke old-school Mariah Carey. Oh! Right before Krystal went on, I met Amanda Latona, AJ's girlfriend! She's really nice, and we took a picture together! Then after Krystal's set, I had a letter for Brian and Leighanne, but I didn't see Leighanne anywhere, so Dee was all give it to Amanda, so I walked over to her seats, they wer` right across from mine, and I asked her
if Leighanne was going to be here, and she said dhe didn't think so, and then I asked if she was going to see Brian later, and I guess the answer was yes, cause she said, do you have something, you'd like me to pass on to them? I said yeah, cause I had written Brian and Leighanne letters, so I wanted them to get to them, she took , and put them in her pocket, I told her thank you, and she said no problem, enjoy the show! Amanda rocks! She's so nice! Then after awhile it was time to party! The dancers were flippin' and gettin' down, and then there was a lot of explosions, and within some smoke the boys emerged from under the stage! They went right intj Everyoke! It wds an awdsome pewformanca I enjo|ed it a$lot. Thdy then did Largar Than Life, and they dhd the vldeo dange break, it was$so awesome! The| then did Shinikg Star,$Nickay faby! Yum, he can not tease fans, cause lt's jusq not cojl! But `ang he looks so%good, hd's so buffed out! After that thdy changad clothes I belleve, an` did What Makes$You Difberent, dnd Yes M Will, rith the%cutest hittle ddnce witi a cane% Then tmey did Iore Thao That! That sonb souned great! Then they did I Vant It Uhat Way% It was%really bood, we!sang a iong witl them. M think it was dqring IWITW, thap we firrt got Bwian's autention*Notice L said fmrst* Then they fhanged kutfits egin, and came opt and dhd Not Fkr Me, sn good! Frian dia a great job, ha's stili such a%cutie wmth his cright biond haiw! Then!they took off their red$shirts,!and did%Show Me!The Meajing Of Geing Looely! Thdt was excellent! Afterwards thex did thhs lil' rkit witl the wasdrobe bkx, and ht was really cute! The Jevin and AJ shov! Wasn'p that sj cute! They then showed this pre-taped video on the screens what it looks like in their dressing room, and that was really funny! Then all of sudden they were raised in the middle towards the back part of the arena, and did I'll Never Break Your Heart, and How Did I Fall In Love With You. It was really cool! Then the bridge was lowered and they did Time!*that song is one of my faves* and they started walking across,and Dee and I were waving like crazy trying to get their attention, and Brian waved at us again!*yay!::big ol' smile::* , the Nick layed down on the bridge, and he pointed at us*ahhh* it was crazy! We were so happy he finally saw us, cause Nick's attention is hard to focus during a show! Then back on the stage, Nick started All I Have To Give, and they went into If You Stay, that song is so old! But it sounds so good! After That they did the dancer intro, and the band intro, that was cool. I thought this year the dancers were better cause they weren't all covering up the guys. The they popped out of nowhere and did Backstreet's Back! I love that song so much, and I love the dance! *If you have Fatima's video, I was one of the contest winners, and you can see me doing Backstreet's Back--look for Kirsten! BSB shirt, jean shorts--just thought you'd want to know!* During Backstreet's Back, all of a sudden Nick was jammin' on guitar! He was lookin' hot! Then they did Get Another Boyfriend. That was really good too. Wait--they did Answer To our life at some point as long as with I Promise You, I just can't place them!*sorry* Then Aj was on stage by himself, saying I have some bad news, we oonly have time for one more song, and then you hear a cell phone ringing, and he was like is that me, dang who calls me in the middle of a show? He was walked around the band going, who's callin' me, and he asked us, should I answer it? And the girl was all hello*just like the call* and AJ was all, Hi this is AJ, and the girl was all where are you? And AJ was all I'm in Oakland doing a show, don't wait up for me, I'll meet you back at the hotel, I just might not be by mysef! LOL! It was cute. They did The Call*obviously* That was really good! They do this cute gotta go, and with their hands like hang up the phone*if you were there you know what i'm talking about right?* Then there's only one song left to do...Shape Of My Heart! I really like that song! Brian signed one of his Healthy Heart Club shirts and threw it into the audience! Then it was all over! I had so much fun I did go again the next night! March 1, 2001.....The day started off as a normal day my best friend Chelle and I left for the Oakland arena.......well I figure you don't need the details of that so I won't bore you. LOL......We got to the venue and some guy was trying to get us to sell him our tickets...we were like yeah right! We had 15th row floor!! =). Ok, let me say a few things here.....we went to the concession stand to check out the stuff...I bought the jersey...THEY DID NOT HAVE THAT IN FLORIDA when we went...then we saw the tour books...THEY ADDED some stuff to it! We had already seen the show in Florida so we had to get the tour book and here's the thing!! The pictures are from the FLORIDA show we went too...and you can see our heads!!!!!!!! WE were flipping out.....it's a big deal to us...it might not be to you but to us being in the tour book is tight! =). Anyhow Krystal came out...she sang her songs and I didn't really like her too much...I never had but anyways. LOL. We looked to the side and saw Sara (AJ's new girlfriend) we were talking to her and she was telling us how AJ met..my best friend Chelle was like "so what happened to Amanda"??? It was so funny...she was like they aren't together anymore...and Sara was telling us how she is a singer and AJ saw her singing and fell for her....it was cool....I got to get a picture with her and all that...she was like Keep in touch, she is a real nice girl.....=). So next the guys came out and it was great...however a LOT of stuff was extremely different!! They cut out several songs from the one I saw in Florida and they cut out the confetti!! None fell from the sky....it sucked!!! In Florida we had the confetti going, but not in oakland!! Other than that they looked extremely hot...Nick especially with his brushed forward hair (My favorite look!!). It was really cool but different than the Florida show.................The March 2, 2001 show was pretty much the same....we had 7th row floor seats!!.....they rushed it along though and it ended 20 minutes early....but other than that the guys put on a great show as always!! The highlight of the March 2 show was when they were going on the railing and I held up my picture of Kevin and I!! He saw it, pointed at me waved and then blew me a kiss...it was so awesome! So at least he saw the pic. LOL.....well if you want to chat email me!!!!!!! Or if you have great pictures you want to sell or trade of Nick or the bsb email me!! =). Fan Review of the Oakland, California show, March 1st

omg, the show last night ((march 1))was amazing! I mean it! there was not one thing there that wasn't good. I had side seats that were ALL the way in the back. When I got there, I was like "what??? I have back seats???". I had section 220, row 18. But it was good anyway. Side seats are closer to the stage, and that was cool. In the beginning, when the comets shoot out, I wasn't really paying attention to the screen cuz I was digging around for my camera ((i noe...they're not allowed...but..)) and then all of a sudden I hear a loud boom. that scared me! omg...they kept on going, and i wasl ike, "huh?" lol i was clueless! then i looked up at the screen, and then i finally realized that they were comets.
During the concert, brian and nick were mostly the ones that waved to our section! it was soooooo cool! and around when they were introducing the band, aj came over to his right of the stage and starting dancing. it was like the river dance or something...he was being silly. it was hilarious! o yeah, i LOVED the bridge! that was soooooooo cute! in fact, they were all so gorgeous and cute last night. my heart melt when howie and brian were singing 'how did i fall in love with you' because the way their voices sounded was absolutely adorable! wellz, gotta bounce now, so buh bai for now!
if ya haven't been to a black and blue concert yet, i totally recommend u to go! =)

Just have to let you know that the concert last night in Oakland was just awesome. Thought the staging was great and the special effects were fantastic. Our tickets were in the ll straight to the back and could see them pretty well. They guys were all looking sexy! Won't go through the play list as it has been listed. But have to say my favorites were The CALL, Get Another Boyfriend and Everybody. Have been to all 3 concerts ('98, '99 and '01) and would have to say that this is the best. They seemed to have matured and interacted with the audience more. IMO the dancers were better in that the didn't seem to intrude on them as much as last year.
To all of you that have yet to go, have a great time you are all for a fantastic show.

OMG!!!! I had the BEST night of my life on Thursday March 1, 2001 when I saw the BSB live at the Oakland Arena!! they are incredible live and my voice is STILL gone from last night!!
We got there at 3:30, and it is totally and completely worth it to get there that early. We got free stuff from radio stations, were informed when the BSB would get there, and met all teh bus drivers! It was so cool! They set up this barricade when the busses pulled up, so we assumed it was them. It wasn't but we got pics and met all of the dancers who are the NICEST people ever! They were playing around on their Razor scooter, it was funny. Ok girls start doing your research!!! I was pretty much the only one who knew who Krystal was when she walked by, so I yelled to her, and everyone looked honestly puzzled as to who she was! That was a little weird! Then at another entrance, the Boys busses pulled up, and they do in fact each have their own!! AJ's is completely black, and Nick and Brian each have a cream colored one. Those are the only ones we saw. Brian is completely BLOND! He looks so cute! AJ's hair is in cornrows, that actually look good! After Krystal performed, she signed autographs in our section! We weren't able to get in line cause we got up there to late, but she saw us, and was like "Hey I recognize you guys! Get in line!" We told her we couldn't, so she was like, "Alright I'll take care of it", and gave us signed pics on the spot!! Thanks Krystal!!!
So then the Boys made their amazing entrance, and we were literally 10 feet away from them!!! Side stage seats DO NOT suck!!!! They used the ramp all the time, and Brian and Nick waved at us, NUMEROUS times! They wouldn't let you bring in posters, but we did anyway, saying we weren't going to use them, so we were preetty much the only people with posters! How sick is that?! We had a HUGE Nick one that he totally saw! And if anyone was at this concert...we were the ones with the I LOVE NSYNC sign! Haha don't worry we actually hate them we just thought it was funny! And if you weren't there we held one up and the ENTIRE ARENA started yelling it was so funny!! Well I gg to school so have a GREAT TIME at your concerts!! If anyone was at the Oakland one, EMAIL ME!
