WOW. I first saw the video for "Larger Than Life" on Tuesday, and I'm still walking around my school halls in a daze. I don't know how anyone could not like this video. Not to offend to person who wrote about the "secret hidden message against the fans", but seriously, do you think the Boys would EVER even THINK about doing that? I think not. Personally, for like the first time in quite a while, I think Nick was lookin' mighty fine. His face was a bit shiny, but I think that's the look he was goin' for. I got shivers down my spine when I saw the guy who was the bus driver in "Everybody", mainly because I imagined the vid to be a sequel to "Larger Than Life" before, and now I see the same guy! That kinda' freaked me out! I thought Brian looked SOOOOOO cute, but he should've worn colours other than orange & yellow. They make him look like he's 16 years old. Not that I don't like that or anything...hehe. When I first saw Nick, I just about died laughing. So did my Mom. I mean, who saw that coming?? And Kev, well, hot as usual, and of course, bein' Mr. Pilot Man. AJ was hilarious in that suit, but he pulled it off really well. I got seriously confused when I saw Howie. He sure didn't get much camera time! Poor guy..... What was with those hands before the slow no gravity bit? Looked like he liked it, LoL! Now I totally understand why they wore those clothes at the VMAs, it would've been better if they wore 'em to the next awards show 'cause then we'd at least understand AJ & Nick's um...."different" choice of clothing. Hey, we'd probably be like, "Hey, cool! That's what they wore in the video!" and there wouldn't of been as much backlash. Did anyone else just LOVE the part when Nick sings, "Lookin' at the crowd.....etc" and the music stops while his voice keeps goin'? MAN, that's my fave part! Also, did anyone else notice it's kind of a sequel to "Everybody"? It totally makes sense too. At the end of "Everybody" the guy probably gets them and captures them, and then in the year 3000 he unfreezes 'em after they've been gone of over 1000yrs and they've been like, "changed"? What's that scar goin' down Kev's forehead from? Okay, y'all are probably gettig real bored of this, so I'll stop & let ya get on with the rest of the site. KTBSPA!

Kristy:-)

When I saw the beginning of Larger Than Life, my heart just started to race! I saw Brian and I'm like "Oh MY God!", but I have to say that it's not my fave BSB Video! Actually, I was a bit disappointed. I'm not saying it wasn't good, it was, but not as awesome as i would have expected it to be! First of all, The video is dark, we can hardly see their handsome faces! Secondly, I find that the song goes weird with the theme of the song! I mean, the song is about the fans...what's with the space stuff? And Nick's outfit looks really weird! Kev looked nice, Howie too! And my Brian looked so adorable on the Hoverboard! But who the heck is that girl? Now about AJ...Okay Jessy I know you're reading this and I know you'll kill me if I ever say anything bad about your beloved AJ, but this has got to be said...What ever happened to the other half of AJ's shirt? And what's with the gross tentacle thing? Okay, although there are a lot of things i did not like about the video, I still like it! There are still things I do like about it! Like the dancing part, That was awesome! Hopefully, their next video will be better!

DANCING ROBOTS!!!!!!!
a funky space suit with tentacles
a space age surfboard
and a little car-thingy I could drive in space.

THE HIDEOUS SHIRT MUST BE BURNED!!! AJ WHAT IS YOUR @$##$*& PROBLEM!!!!???? Orange is NOT Brian's color. Nick looks weird. Howie is nonexistent. Kevin's cool. All in all, two thumbs up. Fine Holiday fun.

Oh my God! LTL totally kicks ass. This video is not something people were expecting from Backstreet Boys. Seeing them how much they grew since the first time I saw "Quit Playing Games With My Heart" is totally amazing. I expected to be good, but not this gooood. By the way did you guys notice that guys started to request "LTL" on TRL too? How cool is that? The only thing I think they should've put in was the guitar part. But I guess they had to cut it because they wanted to put the dance seen in. Either Backstreet Boys will always be larger than life to me. Keep The BackStreet Pride Alive!!!!!!!!! ~~Nicky

I think that the "Larger Than Life" video is so TIGHT!! I really like the concept. I'll break it down for you like this:

Brian~//> His theme was really kewl.I thought he looked really adorable and his outfit was fly. His hair looked different but it was still kewl.

Nick~//> My favorite theme of the video.Okay, okay, you obviously know that he's my favorite. I thought him dancing with the robots was cute. My mom even likes that part! I really like the part when he sings and the music stops then starts again. That was tight. The robot costume looked kewl.

Howie~//> Howie's theme and costume was pretty dope but his scene didn't have too much "umph" to it. But I still luv him. :)

Kevin~//> Lookin' mighty fine as usual. His theme was so tight. I would've have wanted to play with that thingy he was riding in. There were two girls he was shooting with huh? Well anyways I liked his theme.

A.J.~//> His theme was tight as well. Though it didn't have too much movement or action. Still, I liked it a lot.

Overall~//> I luved the dancing a lot. The choreography is so mad TIGHT!!! I luv the part at the beginning when their spaceship is floating and you could hear some of their past singles, that was kewl. I especially like the part when they show A.J. on the screen singing "Hahaha.." somethin' like that. The thing I didn't like about the dancing scene was the lighting. In fact, it sucked! I mean c'mon I couldn't really even see the dancing. And I couldn't see their oh-so-cute faces!! All of the Boys danced great and I think a lot of people really like this video, including the fellas, aww c'mon admit it! That's why they've been number 1 on TRL ever since they world premiered their video! Keep voting people. Yeah, well that's my review.Thanx Caitlin if you're posting this! KeEp tHe BaCksTrEeT pRiDe aLiVe!! -Much Luv, Anne

Hey all you Backstreet.net readers (and Caitlin too!)

I just wanted to send in my review of the new Backstreet video in lieu of all the other _very_ different interpretations of it. I watched the video on Monday and the first words out of my mouth were "That was the strangest video I have ever seen!" And it's true! "Larger Than Life" was definitely up there on the weirdness scale...not to say I didn't like it, though (b/c I did.)

Anyway, for those of you who say the video has an underlying message, that's your POV. However, the beginning of the video was almost exactly identical to Michael and Janet Jackson's "Scream." I didn't notice this at first, but my friend pointed it out to me. Of course, I was way too interested in watching AJ and Howie to find any significance in the video, but after the second time, I began to figure out what was going on.

Okay, so they're in the pods, right? They're being resurrected after 1000 years or so. My only question is who the guy is that turns on the pods. You know who it is...the purple robot with the claw...moving on.

Brian: The boy is in a cross between Tron and Pong with a skateboard. If only he could decide what theme he wanted, things would be a lot better. His cyber opponent looks like a famous Japanese character that is entirely computer generated. I can't remember her name right now, but she was on the cover of "Tokyo Pop" magazine once. Back to the Jackson idea, Janet and Michael were playing Pong in the video. Hmmm...

Nick: The boy is in Star Wars, plain and simple. I missed the connection at first, but my all-knowing friend once again informed me that he was one of the robots. I've never seen Star Wars, so I can't back this up. Personally, I thought he was in a battle droid from one of those virtual reality games. He looked cute wearing his yellow legos, though.

For the rest of the BSB, I had to consult the ultimate authority on sci-fi crap...my little brother. At least now he'll watch the Backstreet videos b/c he thinks they're 'cool!'

AJ: I guess there is a character in Spiderman, or X-Men,...some comic strip that's out there that has a character named "Doc Oc." (I'm just guessing on the spelling here...it's a shortened form of Doctor Octopus.) He has cables that shoot out of his body. Can't tell ya much more, cause I got all this from my brother, but both him and my father shouted "Hey, it's Doc Oc!" when they saw AJ.

Kevin: Two words. Wing Commander. And what a fine wing commander he is.

Howie: Man, I'm still trying to figure this one out. It's like he's in the heat w/a moving floor, and then he gets a girl and 3 people in black outfits. Can't make heads or tails of this one guys, so if anyone can help me, mail me please!

Okay, now the only reason I am making these assumptions are b/c BSB said LTL was going to be like "Backstreet's Back" but taken to another level. Remember how each guy played a monster? Well, we all knew who they were supposed to be that time, but these references are a little more obscure. Maybe they don't mean anything, but maybe they do. If my little brother can understand a Backstreet video I can't make heads or tails out of, there HAS to be something more to it. Feel free to mail me w/ comments and the like and I'll try to respond ASAP.

For my parting comments, I'll just say that I was a little dissappointed this video didn't have anything to do with the song, although neither did IWITW, but I hated that vid. anyway. I pictured something in space, but a little different, like they were having a big concert in the future and thanking all the fans. It was a good concept, though. Too bad that no one can agree on what it is!

Thanx for the time, You can check out my Howie fanclub by going to: http://bsbhiphop.cjb.net

I'm a huge BSB fan but I have to say I wasn't that crazy about their new video "Larger Than Life." I think it's too overdone with all the special effects and everything. I like the dancing part but that's about it. Since this song is supposed to be about the fans, I don't understand why they didn't incorporate us into it. I think if they had done something like that it would've made more sense. But this is just my opinion on it, and I still luv them!

I dont know about this one people... The best Ive ever seen? I dont think so, they spent enough money, so an extra million or so to make those somewhat shoddy special effects more believable wouldnt of hurt... But what can I say, it does grow on me everytime I see it.

Hi Everyone, First I really have to say that Backstreet Boys kick @ss!!!!!!! They are the best and Larger Than Life is a great song (and even better, it's dedicated to US, the fans). But this video sure isn't the best video of the boys, it's kinda cool and very spacy but it's soooo dark and I think it could have been much more better but the concept is pretty cool. I really liked the part when they all dance togheter ... that's just cool, they are the best dancers ever! And singers ofcourse, but that ain't nothing news! Well, I'm gonna stop here... just one last thing... KTBPA!!!!!!!!! Bye you guys, BSB rocks and we the fans too!!!   Love Always, Chinny ---> BSB_Fracky@hotmail.com

Hello all you bsb fanatics! My name is Carrie and I want to give you my take on the new Backstreet video, "Larger than Life". I think it rox!!! The special effects are totally kickin' and the Boys look great! The dancing was amazing and the whole "space travel" concept was pure genius on Joseph Kahn's part. I have to admit the video really surprised me; but all their videos do. The Backstreeters always have amazing vids, and this one is as well. Kev looks so into it and Nick makes a cool robot. Also, I think Brian's close to overcoming his fear of heights. huh? (lol). A.J. looked totally different cause of the lack of shades, but it's about time we see his eyes. :) Howie's hair kicked ass and he did a great job. They all did and I think this video will continue to beat 'N SYNC's ( or should I say 'N SUCK's) video on trl. So please remember to vote for it! This video is one of my faves from the Boys and I know that they will be with us for a long long time. Who could resist talent like that? I think with this video the Backstreet Boys are starting to get a lot more male fans cause this vid appeals to everyone. And don't the guys deserve it? So from one Backstreet fan to thousands more reading this, I'm gonna end with saying "Backstreet's Back and Here to Stay!" Thank you.

I thought the video "Larger Than Life" rocked! The special effects were great and the dancing was even better. It reminded me a little of Everybody(Backstreet's Back) because they were in different elements, then they showed everyone together dancing. Some of my friends thought the concept of the video was stupid, but ever since on Backstreet TV, when the Boys said it was in space, I wanted to see it so bad! I know some people, liked my friends, wanted a more relaxed video like I Want It That Way, but they are not real fans. I think if you are a die-hard fan, you should like every single video, no matter how lame and stupid it might be. That's just how I feel!

HI! backstreet.net!

I first saw the LTL on tuesday at TRL. At first I really didn't know what to expect, but I was surprised to see so many cool special effect. Later when my dad saw it with me, he said that must costed a lot,and he said it was really cool(that was surprise, cuz he never said that to any videos. Especially surprised when he said 'Nsync video looked so gayish and boyish compare to BSB. I had to explain how 'nsync was copied after BSB and then he said that "Not a good copycat" Wow! People! if my dad can turn into BSB fan after that LTL video then it must be great!) I liked their timings in video. Each boy have almost same amount of time in the video. I was especially glad that Kevin get to have some more time in the video. He looked great on his leather clothes, and looked in control when he was fighting against the bad ships. this shows his personalty of Big brother of the boys. Brian was cute with his rocket. This shows his playful personality. Nick looked better in the video than the VMA. Anyway, he looked handsome in the robot, which shows his love of video games. Howie seems sweet as usual, but I just did not get the concept of him in the room. And who were all the people with him???? A.J. was off the wall as usual too, but what is he supposed to be? He looked good with his new gottee. Anyway, I have to say Kevin looked the best. then Brian. I really can't decide next person, but boy ! all looked great! this video is the video of 1999! this is my favorite of all! then everybody, of course. Both videos were out of BOY BAND videos. I liked the new looks of the boys, more mature and edgier and still keeping the characteristics of the boys. thanks for reading!

Here it was finally!! What we had been waiting for a quite while! (Well it seemed like it to me!!) And i unfortunatly had to go build the homecoming float but i had set my vcr. But of course i ran outta tape right before the video came on so i was outta luck! I did see bits and pieces of it cause i demanded to turn the tv on! And from what i saw i was somewhat disappointed. I watched it on trl the next few days and i have been warming up to it and well here's what i think of it!!

I really like the video and all now but i just don't like Star Wars and i guess that is what they were going for. It was pretty creative and it was alot better than IWITW, cause they do more than stand in front of a plane and sing. Don't get me wrong, IWITW was a GREAT video but this is much better! I really liked the dancing it was great! Good job Fatima! I was also glad that all the guys got some alone time unlike the IWITW where they were all together.

Brian: I liked his outfit and i think the skateboarding thing was pretty cool!! I liked his hair alot better in IWITW but that's just my opinion.

Howie: I didn't really understand what he was supposed to be on there. I hate to say this but i think he looks alot better. I liked the braids ALOT better than just him greasing it back into a ponytail.

AJ: AJ's the man!!! I LOVED his little crop top! All of you people on here saying "ewww i can't believe he wore that" or things like that need to wake up! This is AJ were talking about! Didn't y'all see the Disney special? "I like to wear things that i wouldn't be able to find anywhere else or something no one woould be caught dead wearing" Enough said about that! The octopus thing was pretty cool too, different but cool.

Kevin: When he was shooting those evil doers it was hilarious! He looked so sophisticated pushing those buttons! LOL But he looked VERY hot in the process! Oh and another funny thing was when Nick stop's and Kevin bangs on the screen thing and he starts singing again! For some reason i thought that was funny. I don't have much to say about Kevin so let's move on!

Nick: Nick, Nick, Nick the guy who i have been obsessed with for many, many months. First off, i have been debating over his hair ever since I saw him on ET a few weeks ago. I was very disapointed in him. It's his hair though so i'm not gonna make a big deal about it but I had just been praying that he wouldn't grow it out again but he did. He's still my fave no matter what though!!I was very excited to see what he was gonna do in the video and i thought it was sooooo funny!! What a cute robot! The poor guy was sweating quite a bit though and i think he would have looked better w/out being so sweaty but hey things like that happen! As for the dancing sequence: Hercules! Hercules! LOL I am hoping that he will have his hair cut by the concert on Novemeber 7th (Front row baby!!) that i go to but if not, i won't be mad! In conclusion i think that Nick looks better w/his cute boy look but it is his decison if he wants to look like Hercules or Marylin Manson (I hope that day never comes!!) but i will still love him!

Thanks for reading this, i know it was a little long! And everybody, KTBPA!! Please email me at: Lacie01@yahoo.com

Caitlin,

This is my review of the Larger Than Life video, although it is mainly a response to bad reviews written by other people. Although I do mention one person in particular, I don't mean this as a respone specifically to her. I mean it as a response in general to everyone who has seen the video.

When I was reading the reviews of the video for "Larger Than Life", I came across that of FoxLee51@aol.com. Well, I realize she didn't like the video, or so she made it seem, but while I was reading her review I both agreed and disagreed with some of the assumptions she made. I don't mean this response to be rude or anything like that, I just thought I would share my opinion on the video as well. I, too, believe there is an underlying message in this video, but I don't think it is at all disrespectful to the fans.

When the video opens with the ship floating in space and 3000 AC is at the bottom of the screen, the message begins. As clips of past BSB singles play, it's as if we're taking a short trip through the life of being a Backstreet Boy. It's like their musical history in 30 seconds or less. It ties in with the concept of the song. Larger Than Life is a message telling how the Backstreet Boys feel a little overwhelmed when we, the fans, support them in certain ways. They sing the words "can't you see how your love's affecting our reality?" Reality is distorted to them because they are who they are; they can't live "normal" lives because of it. Reality is distorted in the video as well. This opening sequence prepares us for a message concerning how the BSB feel towards their fans.... thankful to have us, but overwhelmed by our presence.

In Brian's part of the video, he looks like a character in a video game. In a video game, the character is controlled by the person playing the game. Brian's life is controlled by the fans. Every move he makes has to be carefully considered because of this. Now, I don't mean his personal life, but his public life. In Nick's part, the video game concept comes in to play again. Those "robots" are controlled by something, they don't control themselves. Nick's part again shows how the BSB's lives are controlled by the fans. Same with AJ's part. (I have to admit here that I'm not 100% sure what Howie's part was about, but I'm thinking it has to do with the "affecting our reality" line. He's kinda in a virtual reality room, I guess you could say.) Kevin's part seems to have a signifigant meaning to it. It shows him taking control of the space ship. Well, that can be compared to the BSB taking control of their lives. They need privacy, something that's pretty hard to come by in the music business. After all, it is thier lives, and we have no right to know what goes on with them 24/7.

Well, it is true, if you interpret this video this way, it might seem as if the BSB are being mean and disrespectful by saying fans control their lives. But that most definately is not the case. If you listen to each word of the song, you'll see what I mean.

"I may run and hide when you're screaming my name... But let me tell you know their are prices to fame..." All of our time spent in flashes of light..." MEANING: Yeah...the fans are overwhelming sometimes (and not just to the BSB themselves but to each other. Ever been pushed by 500 people waiting to get into a concert? I have!), but that's just life when you're in the business of entertainment. I'll save the chorus for last.

"Looking at the crowd and I see your body sway wishin' I could thank you in a different way" MEANING: In the second verse the BSB tell how much they appreciate their fans because, even though sometimes their lives get a little crazy, they know they need us. We support them in every way, and if it wasn't for us they wouldn't be where they are now. At concerts, that is their way of thanking us for being so supportive of them. It's the only way they know how to thank us.

Now for the chorus: "All you people can't you see, can't you see How your love's affecting our reality Every time we're down, you can make it right And that makes you larger than life" Here's where the video comes into play. Yes, the fans certainly do affect the reality of the Backstreet Boys' lives, hence the reason the video is so futuristic. But, the fans also provide the boys with love and support. In return, they thank us with kick-a** concerts....the dance scene in the video. The dancers are there to add something to the video. It's funny, but nobody minded the dancers in the "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" video, but for some reason they can't stand them in this one. And you can't say it's because they're not "fully clothed", because they are. Ok, so their outfits may not be the most attractive or something you would wear, but remember just how much clevage the girl Howie was with in the Everybody video was showing?? The dancers are their for entertainment only, nothing more.

Obviously everything I've said here is strictly my opinion, and my opinion alone. You don't have to agree with any of it, but I couldn't let people who say they are fans of the BSB say how much they hate the new video without saying how much I liked it. I guess it depends entirely on your interpretation of what's going on in the video, but when combined with the lyrics of the song, I think it honestly is a thank you message to the fans. As for alternate video for this song, those of you suggesting that there should be fans in this video: They used REAL BSB fans in "I Want It That Way". If they would have used them again in this video, it's most likely true that people would be complaining about that too. I can hear it now..." They had fans in their other video! Why did they use them again? They need more variety!"

I hope I haven't offended anyone by saying all this, and if I have I apologize now, but not for speaking my mind. KTBSPA, and remember, the Backstreet Boys do appreciate us, the fans, and all we do to support them. For it is the fans that make them who they are.

I was just at the Backstreet Bulletin reading reviews for the Backstreet Boys' new video "Larger Than Life" when I came across one from a girl name Annie. I guess she thought there was some hidden meaning to the video. It sounded like she was saying the Backstreet Boys were dissing the fans in the video. Like when Kevin was shooting at other space ships, she thought it meant he was shooting at the fans. She even pointed out how they had won viewers choice award at MTV's VMA's. Then she asked how they could do that to the fans after we voted for them to win. Do what to us? Personally I thought the video was great, and I think BSB were just trying to make a fun interesting video, that they thought the fans would enjoy too. It wasn't meant for people to analyze to death and find "hidden meanings" which Annie managed to do for each scene in the video. I think the true fans would appreciate the hard work the boys put into making the video for us (the fans) to enjoy. If anyone has an opinion about the video too, please e-mail me at: youemailmenow@yahoo.com Thanks for taking the time to hear what I had to say. Mandy

I have to agree with phatlady about the hidden message.. this is the way i saw the video which by the way is awesome..... we start with brian's scene which is them going through the rough times like phatlady said and how they came through it all and still landed on their feet (hence close up of brian's feet landing on the board with out falling)... now we move to aj's scene which shows him connected to the wall, which shows how they are connected to their fans... and nicks shows how they were robots while under trans con, and if you see where he shuts down right before the dance scene, he is showing how they broke away from trans con and are now able to do what they wish with their career... kev is fighting off the critics who keep throwing bad reviews at them, and howie's is in a dream like scene showing the fans that all their dreams have come true... now i've seen good reviews and bad reviews about this video and i for one loved the video and give it a perfect 10... now this is the way i saw the video, some of you may think different but oh well people are entitled to their own opinion... and this is mine.... i'm outty... laters

I have to say that, once again, I'm totally disappointed in the "fans" that are dissing on the boys. Everyone has a different interpretation of the video, but I don't understand how anyone could think that they are making this entire video dissing on the fans. There is no way that they would do that. The song is about reality. We give them everything that they have, and it is tough on their personal lives, but they love us for what we have given to them through the music they have given to us.

I just want to say that I love the video. It took me until probably the 2nd time I saw it to really, really love it. It's very different, but I love the look and the idea. Once again, the boys have outdone themselves, along with Joseph Kahn. I am very impressed!!! They all look awesome in their space outfits!! And can they ever dance!! I am so ready to see them in concert doing what they do best.

I love how the look of the video was futuristic and a little bit more bold. No matter what they look like, they are still the boys that I love!!!!

Let's keep voting this video #1 on TRL where the Backstreet Boys deserve to be. With all of their hard work they have put into this video and their entire career, they have certainly earned it!!

I saw the Larger Than Life Video yesterday. The 1st part was okay. When Brian was flying, that was kewl. Nick kinda looked fat in his suit. A.J. cut his hair and I think it looks great (he's my fave). Howie barely had any parts, what's he supposed to be? Kevin didn't have very many parts either and you could barely see his face because of the window. When they were dancing by the end, there were 2 many dancers (like the awards)and you couldn't really see where they were. A.J.'s shirt!!! Enough said!

Hey Backstreet.Net! Well I have a review for the new BSB video. I liked it, I really did, but not unconditionally. Reasons I liked it:

1)It kind of changed the whole 'Millennium' idea (I mean there is no one complaining of the hype for the year 3000), so now I think less people will complain that they're cashing in on this coming Millennium.

2)The guys looked GOOD! (I liked all the costumes, and AJ's crop top only showed off more of his great body)

3) It looked more professional than their other video's, and it is more interesting than pretty much all other 'boy band' videos out now, so maybe people will finally realize they AREN'T like all the 'boy bands' out now. The video kind of reminded me of something Will Smith would do..... which isn't a bad thing because look at all the awards he wins, and how much he is respected for pretty much anything he does.

4)During the dance scene it didn't seem to me like the boys were more important than their dancers, giving me the impression they are more focused on entertaining the public, rather than promoting themselves (don't get me wrong, that's what the whole point of a video is, but it is still quite a change from a video that is constantly just images of them walking, and dancing by themselves, and standing, with the occasional girl or fan in the background)

Things that I think could have been different or Improved:

1) The video pretty much didn't have much to do with the song. Isn't it a song for the fans? I didn't see anything that was remotely even realated to the fans ('cept maybe the models in the Star Wars like ships, but they got blown up anyway)

2)How certain Backstreet Boys (Howie and Kevin) were made to seem A LOT less improtant than the other three, by either making it difficult to see them, or to only show a few very short clips of them.

3) How YET AGAIN, there are some TINY scenes with pretty models, that are COMPLETELY unrelated to the song or video, and could have easily been cut out and the video would be no worse.

I have been hearing a lot of feedback from Nonfans, and pretty mucht eh only people whom I know that like it are fans. Everyone else says it's cheesey and dumb. Personally I think it's A LOT more cheesey or dumb to just stand in a school hall or gym and lip sync for an entire video. (aka N'Sync) Well if anyone wants to comment on anything I said, you can e-mail me at backstreet_sweety@mailexcite.com

Larger Than Life-

I read some fan reviews in awe, like what the hell are they complaining about? so they didn't act like cheap hookers and take their shirts off, and stare at the camera, oh no god forbid they want to be artist which is what they are instead of models. They aren't male models, and they aren't here on earth to cater to your hormornal inbalance. I think it was great, of course bsb want male fans as well as females, i mean they ARE males. So they made this excellent masculine video to show they are more than cute, they are real normal people. What Guy do you know doesn't wanna make a special effects, action type video? Would you wanna be a sex symbol only looked at for your body, if u were a singer? uh no, i think bsb have a lil more self respect they are not britney spears. And this whole hidden message thing? what the hell????? you seriously think they made a HIDDEN message in the video as A plot against the FANS? Hello wakeup, so what kevin was shooting ships wow, they were shooting at him, obviously those chic ks weren't fans if they were trying to kill BSB. uh duh use your common sense. Anyways I was in AWE how amazing, and considerate, they had the idea for larger than life since it's kinda rock and they knew it wouldn't be a fan based video so what did they do? PUT the fans in the previous VIDEO "i want it that way". Notice how all those fans were their, REAL fans! Use your brains. I mean atleast they released the song and WROTE it for us all. I loved Nick's part, i don't wanna see nick's ass, i wanna see his talent. I love it when he goes "ya" in the second verse! I loved aj's part, I loved the purple, Brian's part was HOT, of course they had girls in the VID they are MEN not gay men. Kevin's part was my favorite, he looked phat. Howie's was also cool. But I love the dance part, brian looks so tight when he does it. I love that part. I have seen it like 100 times in a row so i know what i am talking about! And I love anything bsb wear's i'm not their mom's so i shouldn't worry about and criticize their every mo ve or outfits, Oh yeah i am a bsb fan, But i lose respect and love for them because they wear a outfit i think is ugly, and don't show me their asses! ridiculous. I just Love this VIDEO. They are GROWNASS men. They are growing as artist, singing, writing, producing, vocal arranging, and still dancing. Big deal they wanna last, you can't make it with everyone doing all your music for you. I don't think they are a boy band it's just a stereotype. They kick ass, and i support every career move it's not my career, as long as they keep those VOICES and Talent and all around BOMBness I am a FAN for LIFE. i can honestly happily say I am a REAL bsb Fan they kind they made that song for! can you? oh yeah one more thing, do u honestly think you can tell BSB what's them and whats not them? come ON get a grip! U know boybands GET NO RESPECT and everyone wants to be respected for their talent if they are true artist. LARGER THAN LIFE VIDEO KICKS ASS.

Hey Everyone!

Wow! Is all I have to say about the Larger than Life video. Yes, I will admit at first I wasn't too thrilled with the concept of the video; I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars etc, but I knew by seeing it over and over it would grow on me.

It sure did! Now after seeing it about 10 times; I think it is amazing. The dance sequence in the tunnel is my favorite part; when they show all the dancers and guys together. I also like the individual sequences that make the boys look unique and indivdualized.

It didn't hit me until tonight, but while I was watching it (the part near the end where they show the spaceship flying away)I sat there thinking to myself about the imagery they chose for that particular scene. Choosing space and singing about their fans being 'larger than life'is amazing and it should make us all feel proud to be Backstreet fans.

Certainly, the message in the song and imagery created through the video should convince us that we need not fight over what kind of show the boys put on, or what awards they do or don't win but instead we should be proud of them in whatever they choose to persue or do.

Hey Caitlin! I wanted to send in my thoughts on the new "Larger than Life" video. I think I was a big step forward for the guys, and I love it. At first I was a bit wary, not sure of what to think about it. But by the end of my 3rd time watching it, I decided it was definitely a good move for the Boys to make, and I love the whole video. Did anyone else notice that the guys are dressed just like the pictures in Nick's room in "INBYH?" I thought of that and i got my videos out to see if I was correct. And I think that's what it looks like. I love the big dance section in the middle of the song, they did a good job putting it together, go Fatima! Joseph Kahn did a great job directing it, he was great directing 'Everybody," with that different twist, and I love what he did with this video. I love the whole year 3000 thing, instead of this whole millennium obsession, a good contrast to their album "Millennium" too, LOL. Howie in that room, it makes me think that he's like the heating source of the ship, in that room with all the red and the moving screen going on. And A.J. was kind of connecting everything together, the center of the ship. It was an all around great video, there was a lot to take in. I'll have to watch it a few more times, and I'm sure I'll still be noticing different things! Thanks, and I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did! =)

When I saw that people had written in reviews of the Larger Than Life Video, I knew that I had to write one in. Let me first say that I love the boys more than anything, and the only reason I criticize this vid is because I think that they are going down the wrong path with videos sometimes. Ok, number one, that video is nothing but a rip- off of Everybody. It is EXACTLY the same, except for the fact that this is spacey, and everybody was monsters. think about it, they were all in doing their own thing, each with a different style. they were never all together until the end dance seen. and about those outfits, i thought the last time i would have to see them in them was at the mtv vma's.

anyways, i would like them to know that they don't need to do a pricey, cutting edge video to be the best, they already are. my personal fav video is As Long As You Love Me. I also love their very first videos, like Anywhere For You, and the first I'll Never Break Your Heart. They were so sweet and adorable, not to mention I love the songs. I think that Larger Than Life had so much potential. They could've done a great story- line video. like it could have shown them having some problems, and then gone and shown clips of fans waiting in line for tickets, or standing outside times square, and in the audience, or even like making signs or writing fan letters. Then, at the end, they could have gone out to perform a concert- factor in cool dance sequence. Oh, well, just an idea. So, don't get me wrong, I love Brian, AJ, Nick, Kevin and Howie with all my heart, but I can't say that I really liked the Larger Than Life video.

Re: The Video

I do think that the video is pretty cool, the special effects and the dance break in the middle but I feel a little let down. The song is about the fans, and nowhere in the video is there any reference to the fans who have made them what they are.

I am a huge BSB fan, please don't get me wrong, and I have waited a long time to see this, but I think fans may feel a little cheated.

If you feel the same then voice your opinion.

A brief opening sequence, shots of each of the boys individually dressed as different characters with pretty girls tossed into the sea of Backstreet, a big dance scene and a short ending sequence.... sound familiar? This video is a carbon copy of Everybody, Backstreet's Back, except instead of a monster theme, it has a space theme. When I first saw it on MM "Smash or Trash" (the vid earned 1 smash, 4 trash from the "judges", a group of 3 women, 2 men, all much passed 20 and sporting some strange digs) I had to agree with them when they said the vid was cheesy. I was expecting something stunning and instead got this.... If you look at the video from a technical point of view it's a really good video - lots of special effects and digitalizing. But, digitalizing is hard to get just right and they miffed just a little trying it out on a music video (think Nick's head, attached to a computer generated body). Also, why bother putting the girls in, it was pointless. And who was in charge of wardrobe for this video? Crop tops are just not cool.... I think the guys messed up when they made this over-priced, over cheesed vid. They're trying to branch out, but this is a video that would only impress under 10 boys..... -Jenn

i hate to rain on the teeny-bopper parade, but that video once again was a disspointment. When they said they were doing something like "everybody" i got all excited, because although it might now be the best video, it is/was one of the most creative, but once again, i was let down. Hmm..i really thought it made no sense and that it was cheesy. I don't really care how they look becuz i wasn't in to them for that, and i odn't have a foavorite boy, but why was the whole video basically nick, aj, and brian? I know they sing the whole song, but shouldn't that mean that kevin and howie should get more video time? maybe it's because i wasn't really fond of the song to begin with, but i just thought the video wasn't that great. The dancing at the end was cool, but it really didn't help.

I used to really dislike the Backstreet Boys, but now I love them, since Millenium came out. And I was really excited when I heard "Larger Than Life" was premiering on TRL. But, to be completely honest, I think the video sucks big time. Like, what were they thinking? I thought it was going to be so awesome! The effects were bad. They hardly show closeups of the guys. I don't know, the whole thing was rather disappointing. Like, it would have been an awesome video if the effects actually looked real. However, they don't. They spent a lot of money, and got a bunch of crapy effects. The only parts I find decent are the little robot guy in the beginning, Brian's part, and the little robots dancing with Nick. They're cute. I don't like the dancing sequence considering you can't tell who's who. They just show them from too far back. I can't find Brian until the very end! And, I'm sorry, but AJ's outfit looks like it was stolen from Britney Spears' closet. And I don't particulary like how someone said that this sucky video was better than 'N Sync's. No way. Not possible. They are so hot in that video, you can't even compare it to "Larger Than Life."
