Once again joseph khan has made yet another wonderful video. the boys were not joking when they had announced earilier that the video had a sort of space theme to it. i must say that i was very pleased. they all looked and sounded wonderful, i loved the dance, and my sister and i got a couple of good laughs at nicks outfit. is it me or does kevin just get better looking every minute. wait to go kev, he can be my skywalker anyday!!

Hey please post this on your site dude!!!!! Ok i give larger Than Life a 9.8 I liked the video idea but it was a little weird with some sense. The best part was by far the dancing. It rocked great moves and great outfits.

hi caitlin!!!!!!!!!!! I want to voice my opinion about the LTL video.  I thought it rocked and all the special effects were cool.  At the beginning when the space ship is sailing through space and it plays some of their earlier songs and it plays 5 different ones like one for each BSB and that is also cool.  Then you see a Brian robot with his face projected on the screen and he presses the button and you see the BSB in those pod things in which they expose some of their muscular bodies which is some sweet eye candy, especially Nick :) . Then you see the cool effects and Brian is flying around on a little pod thing which he looks really cute flying around on.  And Nick being the cutie that he is looks very delicious in the little robot costume and he looks so adorable dancing around in it!  It's cool how they fit the heads on them but then it looks like their in the costumes themselves so the special effects are cool!  Now AJ comes on with his purple outfit that shows his cute little face singing along. And t hen the morphing thing with Howie in the fire room really adds the space age catch! Kevin looks so sweet operating the ship and he does a wonderful job doing so! Also I think its cool when Brian is playing some game with that girl and then does the flip!  Where they break out into the dancing is incredible and I gotta hand it to them cuz that looks like some hard choreography and them being the gods that they are mastered it and made it look perfect!  Fatima really knows what she is doing and she is supposed to be in the video but I can't find her!!! I also can't spot Nick's and AJ's tattoos but I know that they're there. Now they're fighting and BSB WIN!!!!!!!!!! GO BSB GO BSB!!!!!  *crying* Its the end. :( oh well. Overall I think this is the best BSB video so far and NO ONE has surpassed it or has even come close. I mean look at N SUCK standing around in a school singing, oh yeah, thats real cool! YUCK! I hope the BSB don't have to post-pone their tour cuz of the stupid Hurricane Floyd!!!! That will suck c uz people will get confused and probably miss some of the shows.  Thanx for listening to me talk on and on everyone!!!!!!! KEEP THE BSB PRIDE ALIVE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE NEW VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!! MAKE IT NUMBER 1 ON TRL UNTIL IT GETS RETIRED!

  -luv ya all

Hello! I was just writing to tell you MY review on "Larger That Life". Well, I thought it ABOSOLUTELY ROCKED DA HOUSE! 1st of all, "Larger Than Life" is one of my favorite songs off "Millennium" so I was expecting an off the hook video, which was exactly what I got. Brian looked too cute, especially at the beginning when the wind was like blowing his hair back. Nick's head looked adorable and I liked how they put his body on a robot. AJ looked good, but what was up with the wire thingies coming out of his body? Kevin looked good too, but did anyone notice that sometimes he didn't sing along? Howie look ok 'cept his room wasn't all high-tech like the rest of the Boys. The dancing was soooooooooo good (you go Fatima!). I LOVE Nick in his little shirt with the sleeves cut off. He's buff!!!!!! Brian looked totally loveable! What's up with AJ's shirt? All I have to say is LTL is another BSB great (except nothing can top "Everybody") and we all need to vote on TRL and knock 'N Stink outta #1! So vote everyone! Our Boys look HOTT in this video and we all know it! Congrats to BSB on their well-deserved VMA (Crackers With Attitude forever!) and another AWESOME video! Keep The Backstreet Pride Alive in da new Millenium! Erin

Hey all! Well, I'm going to start off with my review of the VMA's that took place on 9*9*99. Actually, let me rephrase that...I'm going to start off by giving some people a piece of my mind...I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinions but, I mean, come ON! Not liking a performance because the performer(s) don't look good (well, because they don't look good according to your standards) is beyond ridiculous. Do you know anyone that doesn't like you just because you look bad one day? I rest my case. The people that say this sound...shallow, I'm sorry to say. We don't like the Backstreet Boys because of their looks, or at least we shouldn't. We should like them because of their music and their personalities...just love them for who THEY are!!

Okay, I'll step down from my soapbox now. I first (well, second) want to give all of the guys kudos for their outfits they wore to the event. They sure can dress, I'll tell you that! (I want Kevin's shirt...I love it!) They all looked good, let me say that. Although Nick looked a little under the weather...and I feel bad for him now knowing that he was sick (I hope he's better now) Now onto the performance....WOW is all I can say. The dance and the dancers were incredible, the song(s) were performed incredibly, and the costumes were awesome. I didn't really care for Nick's hair, I have to say...but I loved the way he was head-banging. Talk about awesome :) I was one of the few fans that LOVED AJ's shirt...it showed off the 69 tattoo, which is one of my favorites. Plus, to all those who disliked it...it's AJ, come on, what do you expect? They clearly gave it their all and more...unlike another group who shall remain nameless...congrats on the award guys!!!!! You deserve it!!!!!!!!

Moving on to the next subject....I just saw the video for everyone's favorite tune, "Larger Than Life"...and WOW again. The video got me even MORE pumped about their concert! (Sept. 19th...for anyone that's goin') I was in shock the whole time. I expected a great video from all the reviews I heard from friends....but I was never expecting something THAT good!!! It reminded me of something out of Star Wars...with Nick being a robot, Brian on his spaceboard, AJ in whatever that was (lol) and Kevin flying that kick-ass ship. I didn't quite get what Howie's scene was supposed to be....oh well, it was still cool. The effects, costumes, dancers, and concept were incredible...the song, as always, quicked serious butt....and the boys were....well, we all know how to describe them :) They're Larger Than Life baby!!!!!

KTBSPA ya'll!!

I love the video! It was awesome. I think it was totally kewl. I loved how Brian did that flip on his board, and that facial shot of Kevin at the helms at the beginning was priceless. It made him look really hot. The closeup shot of AJ's face brought out his great eyes, and Nick movin' with the robots was kewl. I had to laugh when I-forget-his-name from that Everybody video was back. LOL I should have known he'd be back. He was funny then and he was funny again to see. ;o) I also loved the shots of them shooting those other ships- I saw that and one thing came to mind: the critics and the dissers. All I could think was...go get 'em, Boys! LOL I saw the whole significance of that video from beginning to end, when what seemed like a radio dial tuning of all their old songs in the beginning seemed like a few seconds of a historical run-through of the history of their career, from We've Got It Goin' On to As Long As You Love Me. It seemed like the fact their floating through space in that ship was like seeing them as a whole going through their career, and the ship was them. And in Jan. 1, 3000, it was still going along. ;o) I guess that's why it made sense to me how AJ had wires connected to the walls and all-it was a connection it seemed like of that ship as them the group and their career. Then to see Brian weaving through that maze with little balls or something in his way and his dodging it-it seemed like much of the bumps in the road the Boys have weathered, and it seemed significant to see Brian do that flip and see the camera focus on his landing back on his board on two feet. Then there was Kevin at the helm. I had to smile...of course he would be...he's the "daddy" of the group. Where else would he be but helping to steer the ship/career? I saw their whole story in that video. I don't know what anybody else saw, but I saw one of the greatest videos made, because it told a story, aptly titled, Backstreet Boys, and I like the ending. ;o)

From me to you, Boys...you did a great job. Another winner, another reflection of your incredible imagination and creativity, another representation of your uniqueness and talent. Keep it up...you got at least one fan who loves everything you do. ;o)

well i just saw the new bsb video on trl. i have gotta hand it to those boys. i loved it. the backstreet boys totally have a new twist, the video rocks!!!! i have to say, i was very surprised when it began. it is a very futuristic concept, all the boys are robotic like figures. my fave boy being nick, of course i enjoyed his performance as a robot. and for the dancing segment-damn, what a hottie. nick portrays that toughie look real well, i mean, he is hot!!! i especially liked the part when nick did his lil chinese bow. brians air flying was the bomb, as well. for all you people who dont like the new bsb look, i cant understand it. i mean, i was shocked at first too, but the new look is definetly cool. thier innocent look is like washed out. IWITW was more the old bsb look, but LTL is most definetly their new look. i wanted to see the show when they came out here in october to chicago, but my parents wouldnt let me go. i was pissed, so pleez, someone send in a review of the chicago concert, cuz i wanna know what happened!!! stay tuned for LTL on trl, and vote for it!!! KTBSPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey,

My opinion of "Larger Than Life" is not meant to be mean. I liked it, but I didn't love it. Speaking from a HUGE Brian Fan, it takes a lot for me to omit that. My friends and I sat waiting for the Video to premeire in antiapation. Suddenly a spaceship flashed across the screen, and after what seemed like forever, IT STARTED. I think my fav part came up next, When they are in the pods. The guys look hot!!! That's when The video starts to get weird. What is up with Brian's Lil Room Thing??? What's up with AJ getting stuck to the wall??? Why the heck was Nick the machine??? The video could have been alot better if they hadn't added the special effects (Even thou the effects were cool). We want to see The BSB, they don't need to spend LOTS of money on a video when they can dance the whole video and make me happy. Then again, My fav BSB Video was "Quit Playing Games"....I wonder why??

Please don't send me hatemail, I just wanted to express my, and other people's opinion of the Video..

Thanks

~Larger Than Life~The Hidden Message

As you all know the video for "Larger Than Life" premiered monday here in the US on MTV's TRL, I just want to give you my review of it. When the video opens you think your watching Star Wars. Until the faded Backstreet Boys songs of the past start piping in low. Notice the date on the bottom of the screen- 3000 ac- then notice the capsule like things BSB emerge from. Is this their way of telling us they want to be cryogenically frozen and brought back in 1,000 years when we need another boy band blast? I sure hope not...

Now lets start off with Brian's part the only one I can partly stomach, but which makes the least sense. And what's with the one handed ping pong? Nick's part is simply ridiculous, scary in fact. This is where the "message" begins. He's a robot type character. Moving in unison with all the others, being controlled (by the fans). The group of other look-a-like robots hiddenly implies other boys bands and their likeness and how they are controlled by the fans.

AJ is trapped in a room, with some type of hoses keeping him strapped in (the fans). What is he attached to? Life support? (the fans) The hoses don't let him go until Kevin releases it.

Kevin seems to be in control of the whole show. After all he is "the big brother" of BSB, right? I don't like Kevin's violent part. It seems to me that he's shooting at people, young females, to keep them away from the rest of the guys, perhaps he's shooting at the fans?

OK so what's up with Howie D.? I think he's still asleep in the little capsule, those wavy things during his part make it look like a dream. A dream where he's locked in a room full of half naked women.

BSB will always be a boy band, that's how they started off and that's how they will be remembered, it's not escapable. Although they try to escape from the fans and the boy band hysteria on the ship with the hoochie women. What's with them? Could we get less clothes on those dancers perhaps? I thought I was watching a DMX video for a minute. And is it just me or does Nick's outfit in the final dance seen look like something out of Double Dragon and AJ's little tube top number just ain't working.

Although the song is kicking and the boys are very talented and hot I think they could have done this video in a much more understandable and tasteful way as tribute to the fans, not a "hidden message" against them. I think everyone needs to carefully to the words of the song again, from another stand point. Listen and hear what they are really saying about us fans.

It's sad when a huge Backstreet Boys fan like myself would rather watch Limp BizKits video then "Larger Then Life". I mean, I think the video was well done and the special effects were real good, Joseph Khan is an excellent director, just this wasn't BackStreet Boys material, especially with the underlying message.

I understand that BSB are no longer boys and they are becoming men, going through an "Evolution" of sorts, as Boyz II Men did 2 years ago. See where that got them?

And to think, they just won The Viewers Choice Award on MTV, voted for by their fans, and then they put out a video against them, its a shame to see such a good song go to waste with such a violent and angst-ridden video. Hopefully it will be corrected next time around..hopefully there IS a next time around.

~Annie~ Foxlee51@aol.com

Ps- And to prove that I really am a BSB fan, you can check out my web page- Frack Lovers Anonymous http://welcome.to/fla

Also if you want to know how I would have done the video-Here's my idea, e-mail me and tell me if you like it cause I have a treatment for Spanish Eyes and Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely.

Pan across a crowd of people at a packed arena, The crowd is quiet We go to AJ under the stage (on one of those elevator like things that brings him up) He begins to go up slowly- All of a sudden a girls voice breaks the silence with her screams of "AJ I Love You"

AJ-"HUH" -smiles into camera-

As aj is coming up in the middle the rest of the boys come on either side of him.

The Stage has two level's- AJ runs jumps off the first one and and "DOES HIS LAUGH" AJ-"YAHHHHHHH Haaaaaaa hAAAAAA Whoooooooo, hahaha HA"

The crowd screams the rest of the guys walk down steps on the sides of the stage, to the lower level, we see a shot of Brian walking down while he's singing- "I may run and hide" -he puts his hands over his face- "when you screaming my name all right",---show a girl holding a sing saying b-rok b mine- --We see a close up of nick pointing at the camera- " but let me tell u now there are prices to fame ---nick looks at crowd and back into camera with an -oh my god look at all those people type of look---"allright"

We see AJ leaning down to the crowd singing- "All of our time spent"

While he sings "flashes of light", we see BSB in shots, like pictures or moving slow, flashing with white light qucikly between each one.

While they sing "all u people cant u see cant u see how your loves effecting our reality, every time were down you can make it right and that makes you larger then life" we seem them do a little dance number thing on stage.

-Nick dancing and pointing to a girl in the audience who is dancing- "lookin at the crowd I can see your body sway c'mon"

-Brian leans down over the stage and tries to reach the hands of as many fans as he can- "wishing I could thank you in a different way c'mon"

as they sing "all of your time spent keeps us aliiiiiyeeeeeiiiive" -we see slow pictures and shots of the fans in the same manner as the BSB ones were b4-

bsb sing chorus and do there dance together on the stage and we see clips of fans in the audience and them dancing and singing "all u people cant u see cant u see how your loves effecting our reality, every time were down you can make it right and that makes you larger then life"

At the part when the singing slows we see all 5 bsb walking to the edges of the stage and squating down

Aj-looks into the audience and sees a girl holding a sign saying =BackStreets Back= he looks rigth at her and says "Huhuhhaha That's Right"

They sing sqauting down and as the music builds the stand alittle and as it gets the high part they all jump off the stage and run through wide aisles in the audience ,shaking peoples hands giving them high fives and stuff, howie stops to give a girl a kiss on the cheek, Aj and Kevin on one side, howie nick and brian on the other.

They get to the end of the aisle and AJ turns Around and sings -"Every time we're down you can make it right"

We see a shot from out side, it's nighttime in a big city like NYC, each side of the doors has fans standing and screaming with bsb posters and such behind baracades We see the doors bust open and out comes BSB, they keep running into the street and then start singing and we see shots of fans there's a small platform, a substantial distance from the fans, in the street which bsb go up onto and start dancing on we see more shots of fans and they push the baracades and all crowd close to the stage, as AJ sings the last line

It gets dark then we hear a girl saying "NO WAY" really loud, we see a quick shot of the girl that Howie kissed talking on the phone, she's wearing a bsb shirt and her walls are covered with bsb posters, "larger then life is playing on her CD player faintly in the background,

Girl-"That's right Howie kissed me , hehe" ---smiles--- and fades away

Hi, my name is Jessica, I'm 17 and I want to give my two cents on "Larger Than Life". This video seriously kicks ass. Not just because I'm a Backstreet fan, but because they finally made a video that appeals to males and females. I was literally stunned when they premiered it. Speechless actually. The effects were so real, not cheesy at all. I'm gonna break each part down for y'all cuz I hate long reviews.

Kevin: This part was my favorite. Kev was flying a space pod thingy, shooting other space pods (with women flying them no doubt). The effects on this scene were fantastic and Kev looked like he was having a blast. I love it how he's got the dark red line going down his forehead to his nose, like he's an alien. I heard somewhere that he said it's supposed to be what humans will look like in the future. This dude's got attitude, and it looks good on him.

AJ: HOLY MOTHER OF GOD WHERE ARE THE GLASSES AND HAT?!?!?! LOL!! Well, AJ's part ruled, even though I'm not quite sure what he was. The director probably had to give our Alex sedatives to stay still in his part. AJ looked very cool hooked up to the walls in the purple suit. He was very natural and the effects were well done.

Brian: LMAO!! Ok, for a dude that is so afraid of heights WHY is he flying on a surfboard and having fun doing it? Brian looked really cool, except he cut his hair too short and the clothes were wrong. What I want to know is how did he do those flips and stuff. Looks cool.

Nick: Looks like Nick got to live out his fantasy of living in a video game. Aaaaaw, how sweet. Seriously, Nick dancing with his own army of robots was pretty cool. Looks like he picked up some rhythem over the break. I dig his new attitude. And the part where the music kinda stops when he belts out "Loookin' at the crowd and I see your body swayin' alright." is so cool. Nick officially rocks now.

Howie: I must admit I'm angry with the editor of the video for barely showing Howie. He had this whole Jamiriquoi floor sliding thing goin' on. Fatima was in there with him, which is good. I like her because she bosses them around. LOL.

Big dance scene: One word: Wow. The amount of skill and tightness has really gotten good over the years. Even Brian danced well.

I sat in spellbound silence the entire video. This brings the boys to a whole new level. They've aquired a whole new audience over night, and it really works. I don't think N'SYNC could have pulled this off because they're a bunch of children. This video proves that the Backstreet Boys are Larger Than Life.
