Hi Keith,

I was wondering if you knew if the song "Larger Than Life" by Backstreet Boys will be released as a commercial single here in the U.S.

Many American fans were disappointed when "I Want It That Way" was commercially released everywhere but the U.S., as it deprived the Boys of their first No. 1 on The Billboard Hot 100.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Debra,

According to a representative from Jive, the Boys' label, a retail release of "Larger Than Life" isn't out of the question, but as of now, the single is not going to hit store shelves in the U.S.

The Boys' most recent track on The Billboard Hot 100, "I Want It That Way," peaked at No. 6. Surely, "Want" would have climbed higher if a commercial single had been released.

That track became the group's fifth top 40 entry on The Hot 100, following "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)" (which peaked at No. 2), "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" (No. 4), "I'll Never Break Your Heart" (No. 35), and "All I Have To Give" (No. 5).

For the week ending Sept. 4, the Boys' album "Millennium" spends its tenth non-consecutive week at No. 1 on The Billboard 200. The album has sold 5.2 million units, according to SoundScan.
