Date: Aug 11, 2099 Source: Saotomekid ^_^ Submitted By: Well, let's see, school starts this week, i'm REEEEEEEEEEEEEEALY bored rite now, so why not be like everyone else and write a long review for Millennium? :) first of all, some things ya need to know: 1.) i write the way i talk 2.) i tend to blab, so excuse me for dat 3.) i'm a band person, so i might start blabbing bout stuff you've probably never heard about, unless you're a band person 4.) i can be pretty negative 5.) i can keep complimenting a song forever 6.) i use the words "beautiful," "love," and "great" too much and 7.)my spelling of musical terms suck... well, i think that's it, so i guess i'll start now.... LARGER THAN LIFE: ***/4 This is a great song, but there's some stuff that could've been changed. Hold on, lemme go change it back to this song first... For example, like the screaming fans in the back. It's so fake. And AJ's laugh at the beginning scares the hell out of my lil cousin (also i BSB fan, we call him Backstreet Kid, or BSK for short :)) every time he hears it. But there are lots of good things about it too. It's a song for da fans (duh), the guitar thing in da middle of da song kicks @ss, da beat rox, and it's a different style from a "normal" BSB song, and i like how it's different from all da otha songs on da album. :) I WANT IT THAT WAY: ***/4 I love how EVERYONE gets a lead in this song. Kev's voice rox! Why didn't they give him leads on da otha albums??? The beat's good, they ALL sound great, and it's one of those songs that everyone knows da lyrics too. It's great, but change da freakin' lyrics!!!! It's so d@mn confusing! If the lyrics made some sense to me, i'd give it four stars. :) SHOW ME THE MEANING OF BEING LONELY: ****/4 DAMN! Talk about a sad song! :*****( I wanna cry every time i hear it! It's so... deep and emotional. The lyrics are great, and once again, everyone gets a lead. I like... I love the guitar in the song too. It's cool how they make it's once again a different style from a BSB song, but they still can but da Backstreet Beat in it. Ish kool mon! :) I like. Kev's voice is once again beautiful in dis song. Dis would be a great for the next single... after Larger Than Life. IT'S GOTTA BE YOU: ***1/2 /4 It's a great song. Da beat's great, da song's great, da lyrics are great, and i love Nick's part in da beginning and da same in otha parts of da song. I like Brian's vibrato when he goes "And you know, I can't see da world i'm walkin' thru, cuz of you, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...," but it would've sounded cooler if the longer and more noticable. And what's wit da "ooh, ooh"'s??? That makes it sound more like "Everybody" from da first album. But i dunno what they could replace da "Ooh, ooh"'s wit... and dis song's too short! They need an extended version or something so you can dance longer to it. I NEED YOU TONIGHT: ***/4 I LOVE this song, but just like everyone else has said, "Heaven in Your Eyes" was a better than "I really need you tonight." I mean, he said it once in da beginning of da chorus, so we know already that you need whoever the hell it is tonight, so why repeat yourself? I do love da piano in da beginning. (BTW, does anyone know where i can get sheet music to da songs for Millennium, or a book or somethin'? If you do, please email me.) This song really shows how Nick's voice has changed and improved over the years. Dis song reminds me of my crush... Gosh, you know what sucks??? I'm a flute player and these guys can vibrato better than me... and only Brian was ever a band... student... and trumpets can't/don't vibrato... oops, blabbed again, sorry, NEXT! DON'T WANT YOU BACK: ****/4 I LOVE this song! So does my mom. :) The beat's cool, i like how the lyrics are somewhat negative and unlike the Backstreet's style of lyrics. No "mushy" stuff. The lyrics sound like something TLC or Destiny's Child would sing about (i listen to a lot of r&b.) I like how they emphasize the words "don't want you back" in da chorus. It's sounds cool. The background tune thingy sounds like da beginning of "The Boy Is Mine" kinda, but it's still good. Everyone's voice sounds great too. One comment b4 i continue: My friend (or maybe it was a cousin...) once asked me, "Why does Nick always say words with the root 'sex' in it?" No comment..... DON'T WANNA LOSE YOU NOW: hmmm.... ****/4 This song is beautiful. The lyrics are beautiful. They're voices are beautiful. The music is beautiful. This song is just BEAU-TEE-FOOL. :****( I LOVE those really sentimental songs. I love da guitar. "Don't wanna to loneliness, girl i know we can win..." Beautiful! Love dat part! :**( Also reminds me of my crush... he's so cute! Sorry, blabbed again. (oh, btw, i never go back and erase things unless they're spelling errors...) I really don't see anything wrong wit dis song. It's perfect! :) THE ONE: **/4 This song's okay. It's not great, but it doesn't suck either. The beginning sounds like some N Sync song. The beat's good tho. What's wit a alien stuff in da pre-chorus? Why was Kenshin in da song going "Ororoo..."? No wait, that's my computer, sorry bout dat. :) I like the use of the percussion instruments in da song too. They used a lot different percussion instruments in da part where Bri goes "You need me like i need you, we can share our dreams coming true blah blah blah." For example, there were the.......... Gosh i wish there was i fastforward button on this thing! There were some bells, the timpani roll, and those lil block thingys were you need da little hard wooden mallets to play it. Sorry, i'm a flute player, not a percussionist! AJ's short vibrato sounds too good at the end of the song! :P! BACK TO YOUR HEART: ****/4 DAMN! Another sad emotional and BEAUTIFUL song! :****( Too many of dese on da album man! The lyrics are so beautiful.... GO KEV!!!! You need to write more songs man! Even tho he doesn't get a lead in his own song, you can still hear him quite clearly when he and Bri sing da chorus da first time... and da second time. This is my fave song on da album. It's so... beautiful. (somebody get me a thesaurus, i've used that word too many times today!) When i first got the album, i listened to this song over and over again until i fell asleep. :) This song is not only...beautiful :), it's also very lovely, and elegant, and graceful. (copied straight from da thesaurus! :)) This is da perfect song for slow dancing too. I love AJ's humming in dis song (don't ask, i'm weird), and his voice too. :) i like everyone else's too! My fave part is "I turn back time to make you mine blah blah blah." So pretty... :*********( SPANISH EYES: ***/4 I love dis song! Go Howie on da first verse! Dis isn't da best song on da album (Back to Your Heart is! hehe!), but it's still good. It's very different... unique. I like. :) But like my friend once said, it should be ASIAN EYES! hehehe! j/k. I love the guitar, it's so cool! I need some stinkin' guitar lessons... I love the part where they so "When i look, into your Spanish (or Azn, hehehe...>)) eyes, I know the reason why i am alive, and the world is so beautiful tonight..." It's cool how this song is about someone's eyes, because to me (and Bri and AJ :)), the eyes are the most attractive part of a guy (girl for B-rok and Bone tho :)). When i look at ppl, the first thing i notice about them is their eyes, they tell a lot. Da only thang about dis song dat bugs me is dat Kev doesn't get a lead, but i don't see where his voice would fit in the song. NO ONE ELSE COMES CLOSE: ***/4 Dis is a good song. I also love da guitar in dis song. :) This is another good slow dance song. Nick and AJ's voice are excellent. My fave part of dis song is da first two lines of da chorus, "No one else comes close to you, no one makes me feel the way you do..." So pretty. Wonderful love song... it's very simple and because of that it's different. Dat's cool... :) THE PERFECT FAN: ***/4 I love dis song! My mom liked it too... after i translated all the lyrics for her! That took forever, cuz my Chinese sucks. Well, anyway, the piano and the orchestra are good. The choir's good too. Speaking of the choir, if you look at the names of the choir members in da credits, you'll see da name Leslie Carter. Could there just be someone else with da same name, since both da first and last name are so common, or is that Nick's sister??? Well, anyway, just wondering... You know, in songs with orchestras in them, why don't they have a flute solo or something??? I mean, there's a oboe in this song, and you can hear some trombones (or bass clarinets or some kinda bass instrument) sometime.De'refrench horns in it, and you can hear them too, but if there are flutes in it, which i'm pretty sure there are, why can't you hear dem??? Do they really blend into the violins THAT well??? or are they playing low notes so that you can't hear them??? grr... sorry for blabbing once again, but that just really pisses me off. This is a great song and they should release this like a month b4 Mother's Day in year 2000. That'd be cool. Was Nick sick or something when they recorded this??? No leads when everyone else does! Oh well. I dunno. That'll just remain a mystery to me. Great job, Bri! :) Wow, dat was long! I'm gonna end this now cuz if i write anymore, my butt will hurt too much from sittin' in this darn chair for so long and i won't be able to walk tomorrow.
