The 1 month 1 week old CD is a hit. But what about the music? There are different and mixed opinions about the new CD from the world-wide hit group (note: i say GROUP, they're NOT a boyband) the Backstreet Boys. Lots of reviewers are saying that this 12 track CD is just a bunch of love ballads, getting stuck in girls' heads. Others say that the guys are just showing the world what they're made of, good vocalization ability and amazing harmonization, breaking points for music.

I agree on the last one.

First, I will admit, I am a totally big Backstreet Boy's fan. But that doesn't mean that I am going to be biast. I hate that. (Unless, you know, I'm going to be grading my favourite guy above the others, but let's not get into that) I have wide variety in music, and, as my friends don't know, I grade and review the songs in my head. I have to hear most of the songs from an artist before I buy the CD. I'll even borrow it! So, yes, I may be 15, but I do know good music, even if I don't like the music, I will admit it is good. Second, this is not a truth factor, stating out what I'm saying is true. This all matter of opinion. A very strong opinion. :)

The CD starts off with a blow-out, practically in-your-face song, Larger Than Life. One big thank you, the song even puts in a crowd of screaming fans in the back. With an awsome opening, a laugh by A.j. McLean, this CD kicks off with a good start. The next song is one that everyone should know by now, I Want It That Way. Personally, I do wish that they'd put the first version on, but I heard why they didn't. Unfortunatly, I forgot why. :) The song is about a couple on a verge of a break-up. Awsome harmonization, and has vocal solos for each guy. Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely, a dedicated song. Thuroughly dedicated. The song is told to be for their former writer, Denniz PoP, who was more of a friend, and had passed away. The harmonization is, once again, astounding, with violins and well-done background music. The words and vocals show true feelings, and can reach out to anyone who has lost someone.

Next is It's Gotta Be You. Now, a friend and I agreed that a slow song should have backed up Show Me The Meaning. Despite that, the song's opening is awkward to get used to at first, but you quickly begin to like it. With an upbeat-temp and sound like a previoius song, If You Want It To Be Good Girl (Get Yourself A Bad Boy), this song has some nicely enhanced parts, but should have been left for in the middle of the CD, even though it balances out the fast songs and the ballads. I Need You Tonight is a solo song, sung by Nick Carter. Be as it may seem, the song should have been kept with its original version, Heaven In Your Eyes, but Nick carries the song throughout without missing a beat. With a cool, misty background, and a piano to start, Nick brings out and shows his true talents, while saying: I can sing, I'm not just a heart throb at the same time.

An also enhanced opening, Don't Want You Back, is one song that should have made debute single. A song that both guys and girls truly like. It reaches out to guys, and has a distinctivly hard-sound. The next track Don't Wanna Lose You Now , brings out to show how much someone really cares for the other. Only problem with this song, is that the last line should have been sung with the whole group, although it was nicely done. When you first turn on The One, you first listen to the background, slightly like N Sync, pointed out by one of my friends.

Even so, the song co-written by Brian Littrell is slightly (on a scale of 1 - 10, 2) choppy, the song brings out a good meaning: I'll be the one. (Duh, you knew that) One problem, again, with the ending: nicely done, but should have ended with the entire group singing the last line. And, on a personal note, it should have been kept its original title, I'll Be The One. But the song kicks butt.

The next 2 songs, Back To Your Heart and Spanish Eyes, are harmonized tremendously well, with a note of Back To Your Heart is beautifully written by Kevin Richardson. Awsome job! Spanish Eyes, I heard, is going to be sung in Spanish, though I don't know when or where. Spanish Eyes is a good idea. Take one of the most gorgeous cultures in the world, and put it into a song about the pinpoint of that person's features: spanish eyes. (Duh, okay, I'm sorry, I'm reeeeeally stupid about pointing out what the song's about) Although you'd think Howie Durough wrote it, he didn't! But, he does have those Spanish Eyes we'd be singing about, too.

No One Else Comes Close, I haven't gotten hooked on to. I've heard it is sung by another person, though I'm not sure. Like I said, I know good music, and will admit it, even if I don't care for the song or not. This song is good, but since the next track, The Perfect Fan, is up next, I barely have gotten a chance to listen to it!

The Perfect Fan, this time mainly written by once again, Brian T. Littrell, is so good, I'd skip lots of songs for it. With a non-pop sound, this choir-helped song is the perfect Mother's Day gift. Beautiful, where you can even hear the guy's sing with the choir, and is something you'd expect, yet not expect from what those people call "boy bands". This song proves to the point, they're not a boy band, they're dedicated people and singers. Some say that this shouldn't have made the album, but I say it's an awsome way to end Millennium: I love you, Mom. Good line, Brian.

Sorry for such a long review, but I wanted to point out each song. Note again, this is only an opinion. I'm not a big-time music reviewer, but I enjoy thinking about what I'd review CDs and songs about. This one is proven well. The guys all should have gotten more respect than they got. Millennium proves they're talented-to-stay, not just come-and-goners.
