But, Millennium went above and beyond my expectations. Larger Than Life - **** I really like this song, but I'm glad they didn't use this for their first single. AJ's scream @ the beginning may have scared off some potential fans. Maybe later. I would say that it's nice that they dedicate the song to the fans, but they didn't even write the songs by themselves. After a while the chorus gets real boring. Fav part: AJ's "You can make it righ-igh-ight", y'know that part? I Want It That Way - ***1/2 This song would have a better rating if the words actually made some sense. I mean - "I never want to hear you say 'I want it that way', cause I want it that way." What?!? Nick's voice has really improved, and I'm glad the first single included Kevin singing. Fav part: Nick's voice when he says "But we are two world's apart Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely - ****½ I really love this song. Sometimes I wonder about the lyrics, and what they mean, but it's a great song. The melody and vocal arrangement in the song are tremendous. Fav part: Howie's "Surrender my heart, body, and soul", and how AJ sings "Showwwwwwwooooowwwwowww" It's Gotta Be You - **** Awesome dance song. It could be a single. That'd probably be popular. Kinda short though. I'd get 5 stars if it was a little longer, but still a VERY cool song. Fav part: "Oy, Oy" hehehe I Need You Tonight - ***/maybe * This is a really beautiful song, but I prefer when Nick sings it live. He's so emotional then. I was kind of upset about BSB in Concert PPV cause he crapped out about halfway through the song. And what's up with those noises in the background of the chorus? Fav part: the "mmmmm" he let's out after "I figured out what to say to you" Don't Want You Back - ***** This song kicks some serious ass! (Can I say that on backstreet.net?) AJ and Co. don't want you! I'm sorry to all those that think this song sucks, it's the best one on the album as far as I'm concerned. The lyrics (except for the Backstreet's Back part) are great, the beat's great, I love it! Fav part: All Kev's "Don' Don't Want You Back"s, and AJ's "hundred, no thousand lies". Great! Don't Want To Lose You Now - *** I can go either way with this one. I'll listen to it one time, and think it's great, and them I'll listen to it again, and will kind of just nod through instead of listening. It's kind of the typical balled, and has a weird place right after 'Don't Want You Back'. But I like it. Fav part: When Brian sings his verse. I like the whole thing. The One - **** ½ I know people say this song is too 'soundtracky'. I'll admit, "wild and free" is a little cheesy, but they're allowed that. The beat kinda familiar *choughnsynccough*, but I still love the song. Fav part: ''Take my hand baby pleeeeease..... I'll be the one, I'll be the light, where you can run, to make it alright......etc." Back To Your Heart - ***** Kevin needs to write WAY more of their songs. The lyrics are too beautiful. Why doesn't he sing people ask? Because he voice doesn't fit in this song. The three voices that have solos are a.) the most used, and b.) in the middle of the.... what's the word....scale of the band, the highest and the lowest don't sing. And I know that his voice isn't that low when he's sings, but I don't think it really would fit. Fav part: None, I like the whole song. Spanish Eyes - ***½ I really like Howie's voice in this song. It's beautiful. This is not the song for the people that honestly (or just to be mean) think Howie and Nick are gay. I think their voices go really well together. I thought Nick was Howie at first the first time I heard it. Fav part: AJ's "And the world is so beautiful tonight" No One Else Comes Close - *** I like this song, it's just one too many of those kind of songs. For sake of space, the numbers 7, 9, 10, and 11 are all slow tempo love ballads. Good song, though. Fav part: "Damn, I love you baby" The Perfect Fan - **** Although it has wonderful intentions, this song is a little too choppy. At least the first verse is. Towards the end of the song, I really start to like it, because it picks up a little. So many people are RAVING about this song and I don't know why. I mean, it's a very sweet song, but a little too sappy for me. Fav part: Kev's "In hopes I can get back to you, and be the perfect son." Overall, a very, very good album. couple of little things that could have gone but I give it ****. Comment on this item.
