Date: Jul 27, 2099 With the first single from "Millenium" already creating a stir, you have to ask your self if the new cd is going to live up to its media hype. But which hype is what I ask? Of course theres the millions of devoted fans that are painfully awaiting the arrival of the quintets new album. But of course with the ups, there are downs. I once read that a critic called this album "unlistenable" and "so saturated in candy coated lyrics it will give you a headache". So of course when I picked up the album, I was not expecting the best. Much to my surprise Millenium was so far from "unlistenable" and "headache inducing" that I was shocked that it even gotten such a label. I suppose some people cannot stand the fact that a quintet, such as the backstreet boys can sing, dance, find over legal issues, produce, write, and even......put out an album that is not only good but excellent. I once heard the boys say on MTV that they personally felt that this album was a step in the right direction. I agree hundred and ten percent. Millenium is a diverse mix upbeat lyrics (like "Its Gotta be You", and "Larger Than Life"- a dedication to the fans), harmonious ballads ( like "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely", and "I Need You Tonight"), and of course the occasional change of sound (like "Dont Want You Back" and "The Perfect Fan"- a dedication to mothers, written by the boys themselves). So to all that pick up a copy of Millenium, you will more than likely enjoy the the entire album. I give this album a four star rating. -Charlette Sedon, Music Journalist
