There was a whole bunch of BSB and "Millennium" news on Billboard on May 24'th. There was a big article on "Millennium"'s sales (it's very long, so I'll paraphrase it), comments by the Billboard columnist, and a review of "Millennium" (from Billboard/ AOL news).

  • The Billboard columnist wrote that it looks like Ricky Martin's high-selling album will be #1 for only one week because the sales of Backstreet Boys' "Millennium" are "downright scary." Based on high first-day sales( half a million), he commented that the album has a good chance of breaking the one million mark. Only two other albums have accomplished this amazing feat are: Garth Brooks' "Double Live" and Whitney Houston's "The Bodyguard" soundtrack.

  • There was also a big article on sales of Millennium and they gave details by interviewing retailers from across the country. "Millennium" reported shipped 2.4 million copies so far, so it's not a rumor that it is already double platinum. Some retailers (ie. NMRI) say it will break the million mark, some say it will even break Garth Brook's record (he sold 1.08 million units last year) for highest first-week sales ever. However, some were more conservative and said it'll sell 900,000-950,000 units. But everyone agrees that the album will debut at #1. The album sold about half a million its first day, and about 50% of the sales of blockbuster hits come from the first day. So breaking the million mark is possible.

The article also talks about many merchants underestimating the sales of "Millennium". Retailers didn't order enough because they didn't expect such high demand, so some have sold out the album and it was put in backorder the next day.

One retailer said sales were more than twice he expected. Another said he didn't predict that the album would sell so well during lunch hour. They expected busy sales at after school hours, but lots of people bought it around noon already, showing that the Backstreet Boys have fans in their twenties, and even thirties. And another said he hasn't seen such an anticipated album since Guns and Roses' "Use Your Illusion II". Anyways, the album is selling more than expected, so some have sold them out already and need to reorder. Jive says they're not worried about this problem though. (Note: I'm not really familiar with some of the terminologies, so pardon me if I paraphrased the article wrong.)

  • Billboard Review of Millennium: The second U.S. release from leading boy band Backstreet Boys might as well be deemed a smash, even before its release. First single ``I Want It That Way'' is already No. 17 on The Billboard Hot 100 (no single is available) and No. 1 in seven countries (*please see my note below*), while MTV drew its largest street crowd ever May 16, when the quintet made a two-hour live appearance at the network's Times Square studio. And that's just the beginning. This album is as deep as the ocean blue, with richly produced singles that extend the vocal prowess of each of the group's members _ all together now: Nick, A.J., Howie D., Brian, and Kevin _ while maintaining the essential BSB sound that will send fans swooning into a vaporous faint all over again. As is key in the effort to further the shelf life of the historically ephemeral teen-group phenomenon, the team behind ``Millennium'' strives here to fatten Backstreet's appeal to an adult audience, particularly via the sumptuous and universal future No. 1 ballad ``Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely'' and the lovelorn swayers ``I Need You Tonight'' and ``Don't Want To Lose You Now.'' The guys are also still intent on tearing up the dancefloor, as heard on the obvious singles ``Larger Than Life'' and ``It's Gotta Be You,'' which both capitalize on the driving beat of 1998's ``Everybody (Backstreet's Back).'' Two of the members earn songwriting props, with three co-writer credits for Brian Littrell and one for Kevin Richardson. The title of this soon-to-be-a-blockbuster album is more than indicative of a bright future-at least through the duration of this album. It also embodies the very essence of mega-pop purity that now defines the top 40 airwaves.

My note: The review said IWITW went to #1 in 7 countries, but I looked up the international charts section and there were 8 (UK, Canada, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, and Norway). I also know that it is #1 in the Netherlands, so it went to #1 in at least 9 countries. Billboard does not list the charts for every country, so there definitely could be more than just nine.

I'm unemployed http://www.cfastresults.com/why-cfast/ bodies buy generic duloxetine beast I was 13. I hate to remember how awkward we were with each other that last morning, stiff enough for the doorman to notice; any other time we would have been talking companionably enough, but that morning we didn’t have much to say to each other because I’d been suspended from school. They’d called her at her office the day before; she’d come home silent and furious; and the awful thing was that I didn’t even know what I’d been suspended for, although I was about 75 per cent sure that Mr Beeman (en route from his office to the teachers’ lounge) had looked out the window of the second-floor landing at exactly the wrong moment and seen me smoking on school property. My mother hated smoking.
