Here's the news and a short review from what I know of the album.

There are 14 tracks on the Australian version of "Millennium". They include the 12 from the US version and "I'll Be There For You" and "You Wrote The Book On Love" tacked on at the end. YWTBOL is 4:38, and IBTFY is also on the new "I Want It That Way" single at 4:37.

The album is available today (May 24) in Australia, but was available for listening in some stores over the weekend. I stood in one of the stores and listened to it for over an hour on Saturday morning so I could see what it was like.

From the opening beat of "Larger Than Life", I was blown away. It was, besides "I Need You Tonight" and Nick's fantastic voice, my favorite song on the album. It's also quickly become my favorite BSB dance song, even beating my previous favorite, "That's The Way I Like It".

After listening to the first 1:20 of "Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely" for the last 6 months on the ANOWTBSB cd, it was a pleasant change to listen to the whole thing for once. It was an excellent track, however I don't personally believe it's a great choice for a future single. It doesn't seem radio friendly enough to me.

"It's Gotta Be You" and "Don't Want You Back" were two more excellent dance songs, keeping up with the trend that the BSB have set themselves, although I don't think either are as good as "Everybody" from the last album.

"I Need You Tonight" was my favorite song on the album. For obvious reasons, I love Nick's voice. And this song was no let-down. There was a minor problem, however. The choir at the end seemed unneeded to me. Why were they there? I think Nick could have done a much better vocal job if he was just alone on the track.

"Don't Wanna Lose You Now" was another touching ballad, a bit better than "Show Me The Meaning..." was. It should be a good future single. "The One", however, blew it out of the water. This has to be one of the best songs I've ever heard by the Backstreet Boys. Everything about it is fantastic - it's got a great dance beat, great lyrics, and is sung in an uplifting way. Could anything be better?

"Spanish Eyes", "Back To Your Heart" and "No One Else Comes Close" are pretty much a blur in my memory now. I can recall I like them all (could I have disliked anything on this album?), but can't really tell you what I thought about them separately.

"The Perfect Fan" was a great closing track for the album. It was clearly heartfelt, and was great with the choir in it. This was one song where the choir wasn't uncalled for.

The next two tracks, "I'll Be There For You" and "You Wrote The Book On Love", were good choices to put on the end. Although both are slow, they were uplifting also, finishing the album on a good, high note.

Overall, Millennium is clearly the best of the three albums the Backstreet Boys have done. While there seem to be a few tracks that came out of the first album ("It's Gotta Be You", for example), there are a lot of steps forward, especially on the dance tracks "Larger Than Life" and "The One", and the ballads "I Need You Tonight" and "Dont Wanna Lose You Now".

The sticker on the front of the cd states "featuring the hits I Want It That Way, Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely, Larger Than Life and Don't Wanna Lose You Now". The promo slip that's been in-stores for about three weeks states "featuring the hits I Want It That Way, Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely and Larger Than Life". So, according to those, I'd say SMTM is going to be the next single, not LTL. Personally, I think they should go the other way around, and finish off the album by releasing "The One".

Anyway, my review states GREAT ALBUM, and nothing less.
