Yesterday (15-04-99) I was reading all those new Bulletin stories about the Backstreet Boys and it was kinda funny read the transcript of their appearance on VIVA Interactiv, cuz the translation was probably done by the someone, who personaly didn't watch TV, so I decided to write something about it from the fan point of view, basically because I've got the show taped! (and I pretty much understand German...)

The program had two VJ's, one of them was Mola, and the second one probably most popular member of German boyband The Boyz named Flow. They were really cool and I think proud about the presence of the BSB right there.

Well, the Backstreet Boys were on about 2 hours during the whole Interactiv show. It was great, nice, cute, awesome & funny at the same time. I have to say, I wasn't expected so cool audience, but it was! It seemed to me like "in old good times", even the guys were (I think) little bit surprised, at least Kevin and Nick mentioned it at the end when they did some autographs signing, Kev was like "I cant believe it...." and Nick: "Man, it' s great to see all the love out here, and that shows how much Germany means to us."

But back to the beginning. The Boys were basically - beside wonderful live singing (wow, it was really one of their best live performances in quite awhile - they were singing Quit Playing Games, All I Have To Give and I Want It That Way), they were answering the questions from the audience, both VJ' s and they also had to answer some e-mail questions which were sent in. It's worth describing some moments about answering the questions. Let's see....

For example: When Nick was asked if the ring he had on his right hand was given him by his girlfriend, he (with cute little smile) answered "No, it's friendship ring".....Those e-mails were full of love and support to the guys, like "please stay together yet for a long time, we would have missed you"; or "I don't know what to say, because always when I see you, I can't say anything...."; "Don't forget, that you' re loved by the people all around the world, not just by Americans or German fans"... and the BSB, when they heard it, they had those cute shiny smiles in their faces...It was really nice. Meanwhile the guys stood around the computer to answer the e-mail questions, at the screen were also shown two web pages of the Backstreet Boys. One of them was, of course, their official site www.backstreetboys.com, but the second one was www.backstreet.net!!!

Than fans brought to Howie some Haribo Gummi Bears, which Howie loves, and the packages of those bears were put into the shape of Howie's name....than all the Boys torn apart the packages and threw the bears at each other and into the audience. However, probably most crazy moment was, when Verena from the audience asked the guys about their sex-mishaps :D. Their reaction? Well, Howie and Kev was laughing, but Brian and Nick (sitting beside each other) were like "I think it's time for our new single" and when Mola said something like one of the Boys should had start to answer it, Brian begun sing "I want it that way....." (All of them was laughing again:)) Then A.J. said: "Well, I'll be honest..." He said something, about I really don't know, what it exactly means (but when I use my imagination....:)), he was talking about "broken wind during", when smiling Howie showed him to stop it, Kev, Mola and Nick was laughing and Brian had his head just in his hands....It was really funny. Almost at the end of the program, the Backstreet Boys were sitting on their bar chairs and live (and awesome!) singing their brand new (I have to say really glorious) single "I Want It That Way", which was mentioned to be released on May, 3. After that, Nick was given a present from some girl of Slovenia, who had her birthday (it was just Nick, because she said, he was her fave BSB), and Nick also did with her some photo. After that, the Boys finally went from the VIVA studio to say hi to the biggest rest of the audience, who was watching and listening the whole show from the big TV screens outside, give them some hugs and autographs atc. Meanwhile was in the background heard the new BSB song "Don't Want You Back" off their up coming album Millennium, and if you haven't heard it yet, I just wanna let you know, it's probably the coolest song of the BSB I've ever heard.....Believe me, the whole Interactiv was really GREAT!
