Hi. I am Valerie. On Nov. 20th I went to Barnes and Nobles on Long Island for a booksigning with none other then my fave guy, Nick Carter!! He and his mom were signing the book she wrote The Heart and Soul of Nick Carter. I went at 11:00 in the morning and the signing was at 6:00. When he finally got there, we started going inside to bookstore.

OMYGOD is he hot in person. There was a whole bunch of media and photographers. It was so exciting. I got some really good pics of Nick. When It was my turn to get my book signed, I thought I was going to faint! Well, he smiled at me and signed the book and I went home very happy! When I got home ( around 9 ) I stayed up until I finished the whole book. I loved it so much! ( especially with his signature and all!:) It made me feel like I knew more about Nick then he knows about himself!

It had all this stuff on his childhood and how he grew up. It was really really interesting. It had like a dozen of the best pics. Some really cute ones of when he was little and some concert like pics that are awesome. Nick also writes a little in the beginning of the book. It was so cool. I would recommend this book to all fellow Nick lovers and those who are just BSB fans.

I just wanted to let ya know that the book by Jane Carter "The Heart and Soul Of Nick Carter" is one of the best books I've ever read. I'm not exactly one of the best readers but I got through this 182 page book in less than a day. I've never done that before. WoW!

My outlook on the Carter family has changed somewhat. Ii learned that Jane Carter wasn't one of those evil stage moms as she was once looked at by me. I have to admit that while I was reading this book, I laughed and I cried. I had read an article where Nick had made fun of his disabled fans as well as his...overweight fans.

Reading this book I now know that Nick wouldn't say things like that. Even though these didn't apply to me, my heart still dropped to my feet thinking that he'd actually say something like that. Well Jane addressed that subject.

Another thing I loved about the book is all the quotes she had listed. My two favorites were by Nick and BJ. Nick's quote being "I'm not home much. So when I am, I feel obligated to mess up my room." You can't say that that's not funny. The other one is from BJ: "You are not king around here, your costume doesn't work on us!"

She also described their house a bit. I have always looked up to Jane Carter, but after reading this book, she's one of my idols.

I honestly think that this is one of the very best books that I have ever read. In this book Jane gives us a little peek into her heart and soul (no pun intended) where Nick is concerned. Ask anybody who knows me and they will tell you that I am an avid reader but I don't read a whole book in less than day unless it is very good, and this book is very good.

Jane gives you a look at, not only Nick's life, but the life of the whole Carter family from as early as before Nick was born. She shows you that their life wasn't all glitz and glamor and easy living but that they all had to work very hard to get where they are today.

You also get a look at Nick's relationship as it relates to his siblings. His close bond with his sister BJ and his nature to protect Aaron and keep his younger brother's feet on the ground. I am an only child so such a family is fascinating to me.

If you are a Nick Carter fan or even if you're not, I would really recommend this book. It vaguely mentions the other Boys but the focus is mainly on Nick and his family. If you want to know the real Nick Carter, this book is the probably the next best thing to meeting him. Happy reading!

I know you're probably sick of all the book reviews of Jane Carter's "Heart and Soul of Nick Carter." But all of them seem to be the same to me, and I just wanted to get a different opinion in . . .

I'm sorry, but I have to say that I didn't like the book - at all. It was nice to see the baby pictures of our sweetie Nick and that sort of thing, but I think a more appropriate title would have been "The Heart and Soul of Jane Carter." She's always defending herself against being a stage mom, but why else would she publish the book? She says that she wanted us to know the "real" Nick, but I saw very little of Nick in the book. In my opinion, it was mostly about how she "guided" him towards stardom. I'm an avid reader and I often finish even boring books in a day or two, but this one took me about a week...every time she started to irritate me, I would put it down and not even look at it for a few hours. That happened repeatedly. I've always had the impression that Jane was a stage mother, but she's just reinforced the image. Aaron even says in the book that he became a singer to spend more time with his older brother -- does it look like he's spending a lot more time with Nick?

I think that if Jane wanted us to know the "real" Nick, then she probably would have written a book about him - not herself.

Hey everyone. I went to the mall last night and decided to browse around the bookstore. Of course, I went to the Performing Arts section to see if any new books were out on the Boys. There were a lot of new books, including "The Heart and Soul of Nick Carter". Naturally, I bought it and rushed home to read it. I was up until 1:30 am. reading all about Nick. The book was excellent and helped me understand Nick a lot. I was so disappointed when the book ended. She hinted at another one by his father about life on the road and stuff. I hope it really happens. I also hope that the parents of the other four Boys follow Mrs. Carter's lead in helping the fans understand the Boys by telling us their background. I strongly recommend that everyone get this book or at least read it, even if Nick isn't your fave Boy.

His mother said, in black and white on page 25, that his name is legally spelled Nickolas Gene Carter. So, that clears up my confusion on it.

Staci :-)

OK so I was reading this review on your page and how the girl didn't like Nicks moms book. Well, Like me and maybe many other fans I got so much benefit from it. I got the book at first because I wanted to learn more about Nick. As I was reading it I learned a lot about accomplishing your dreams. Maybe I realized this more because Im older, but it had a lot to do with Nick. It told us stories on how dedicated he was and how he got to were he is now. For me she totally inspired me. I wasn't gonna go to college in Jan. Since I didn't go in Sept. b/c I thought my dreams of becoming an actress was slim to none. >From me reading about how Nick got to were he is, since I see a lot of myself in him, I decided to persuade in my dream. Now IM starting college in Jan. If it wasn't for his moms motherly words and Nicks desire to accomplish his dreams and learning how he got to were he is today, I would never be attending college in Jan. I owe it all to her. She is a great mother and that book ment a lot to me. If I ever saw her I would give her a BIG HUGE and thank her for what she dared to express in a book.

I have to agree with something I saw said already in a review: but I will elaborate in a slightly different way. I do agree that the book was more about Jane than Nick. I did like the book however. But something caught my eye. REALLY caught my eye.

When I read what Nick said about being teased in middle school, I had to stop reading for about an hour to get a hold of myself. Reading what he said inspired me to write him a letter; even if he NEVER receives it. It really touched my heart and nearly made me break down thinking about my past and all the various experiences I went through in elementary school. The book, no matter who it is about, or what the subject matter, will ALWAYS hold a special place for me because of what he said. Being teased can really make someone a different person, a better person, knowing how much it hurts, firsthand, can make you nicer all around. I'm proud of Nick for not being sucked into the things I was because of what I went through in my early school days. I really hop what he said touched others. I think that could be a good purpose for the book - different parts of it can be inspirations for different people, like it was for me. Thanks Jane, and thanks Nick, for making that book possible. It really made me think.
