"All I Have To Give" must be the best BSB video to date!

Don't get me wrong. "Everybody" was definitely quality stuff and "As Long As You Love Me" is a VERY close third, but as far as "The Look" goes -- you really have to give Nigel Dick the credit he deserves. He takes the image of The Boys that he established in ALAYLM (aka the good looking-ness) and he just goes all out with it... In a tasteful, artful manner (read -- unlike in Bille Woodruff's remake of INBYH) Nigel Dick presents each of the BSBers as an individual, but in an artful and subtle way. And unlike Joseph "I've Hit The Big Time" Kahn's cut of "Everybody", Dick presents The Boys as viable talent, not as a bunch of newcomers.

A Little Story

I first saw the entire video when my band went on a 'tour' of Russia this past June... and can I say that when I saw Nick's big, bleached blonde head on the screen, I freaked? I was completely overjoyed when on 'fade to black' AJ started singing. I am so glad that AIHTG is finallly in the States.

My first impressions of the video were entirely good ones. I felt (and still feel) that the video highlighted The Boys' talent and 'look' very well. I like the fact that there is no plot to this video. Nigel Dick accentuates the colors in the video against the grey in the same way that he accentuates the musical talent of the boys in a nice eye-candy piece of film.

However, I am very disappointed that they re-edited the video for TV release in the States. Boo! Why did they cut out the part with them on the floor in the water? True, it really has no effect on the video as a whole, but I thought it added a nice whimsical touch -- actually, I think of it as more than that, but that was inspired by reading Joseph Campbell on a REALLY late night while listening to Backstreet...

Well, that's all I have to say about "All I Have To Give"...
