"Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely"
Backstreet Boys BIO BRIEF: International superstars, the Backstreet Boys -- Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean -- formed in Orlando, Fla., and scored massive success outside of the U.S. with their self-titled 1995 debut album. Although several singles were released on these shores, it wasn't until a revamped version of the album was released in 1997 that the group became a household name here, too. By achieving first week sales of nearly 1.6 million copies of their latest album, "Black & Blue" (Jive), the Backstreet Boys have the distinction of being the only act to twice sell more than 1 million copies of an album in its first week. Prior to "Black & Blue," the Boys did it with their "Millennium" album, which notched 1.13 million copies in its first week of retail availability. Barenaked Ladies BIO BRIEF: With a capacity for both insightful wit and heart-tugging honesty, Canada's Barenaked Ladies have become an act to be reckoned with below the border of the Great White North with hit songs and a penchant for nearly continuous touring. Formed in 1990, the band first hit at home with the album "Gordon," which featured such songs as "Be My Yoko Ono" (also the title of the band's debut EP), "If I Had $1,000,000," and "Brian Wilson" (later covered by its namesake). While consistently touring the U.S. and building a rabid fanbase, the band broke through to the mainstream thanks to the success of the pop rap single "One Week" in 1998. That success paired with the band's notoriously humorous live shows and more than adequate musical chops have helped them graduate from clubs and theatres to arenas and massive outdoor venues that are now common in major markets across the country. "Pinch Me" is the first single from the BNL's latest album, the Don Was-produced "Maroon" (Reprise), which was certified platinum last October by the Recording Industry Association Of America, a little more than a month after its release. The Corrs BIO BRIEF: This sibling act -- made up of sisters Andrea (vocals), Caroline (drums), and Sharon (violin), and brother Jim (guitar/keyboards) -- combines traditional Irish and pop/rock music. Formed in 1991, within a few years the group realized international success, although that popularity was greatest in their homeland, and conversely, has been a slow build in the U.S. The Corrs have toured with Celine Dion, and in 2000, were named the official artist spokespersons of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). In that role the group serve as a link between the music industry and government policy makers. The group's latest album, "In Blue," topped the U.K. album chart in July, as this Grammy-nominated single, "Breathless," topped the singles chart. 'N Sync BIO BRIEF: 'N Sync -- Chris Kirkpatrick, Josh Chasez, Joey Fatone, Justin Timberlake and Lance Bass -- formed in Orlando, Fla. In 2000, the group set a record for first week album sales when "No Strings Attached" (Jive) sold 2.4 million copies, putting the album on top of The Billboard 200 for the first of eight straight weeks. The video for "Bye Bye Bye" won 'N Sync three MTV Video Music Awards in September. The group also had the honor of co-hosting the Billboard Music Awards in December, and will perform at the Super Bowl in late January. "Bye Bye Bye" is also nominated for a best pop performance by a duo or group with vocal Grammy. BILLBOARD CHART HISTORY: "Bye Bye Bye" The Billboard Hot 100:

Steely Dan BIO BRIEF: Originally formed in 1972 and disbanded in 1981, Steely Dan principles Donald Fagen and Walter reunited in 1993, and in 2000 released "Two Against Nature," the group's first studio album in nearly 20 years. To the delight of the band's substantial fanbase, the new set reflected much of the tongue-in-cheek wit and impressive jazz-, pop-, and R&B- influenced musicianship of the group's earlier landmark albums. "Two Against Nature" is nominated for album of the year, best pop vocal album and best engineered album - non-classical Grammys. OFFICIAL ARTIST WEB SITE: http://www.steelydan.com
