Here’s a transcript of when BSB were interviewd in Cape Town, by Mark Gillman... I missed the first few minutes.... but all that happened was the boys were running late coz AJ wanted to stop and get a cheese burger *lol*

A: But they didn’t have any at the hotel, so I’m still waiting...

M: But whats up with cheesburgers?

N: Not me. I had... I had...

K: We had normal breakfast, thats just AJ

N: Yeah, just AJ

M: Oh, ok, so just AJ wanted a cheeseburger thismorning. I mean thats a bit of a tall order when you’re in Africa, man

A: I know... right

M: This time of the morning, you know what I’m saying. Mickey d’s doesn’t open till like lunch time or something...

A: Yeah, true...

M: But welcome to Africa

Boys: Thanks

M: Welcome to South Africa, should I say. Although given the fact that we’re the country that rocks the most in Africa, we can represent... welcome to Africa, Backstreet Boys. And welcome with a new album thats out now... black and blue, and a tour thats gonna take you how long?

N: Probably all the way till next year. We start in january

M: Yeah, ok, but this tour that you’re on now...

N: Oh, oh no but the... I’m sorry. Uh, this peticular tour that we’re doing we came from

Stockholm, then we went to Tokyo, then we went to Sydney, Australia, now we’re here, then we’re going to Rio De Janeiro and we’re gonna end up in NYC, which we’re gonna be doing in about 100 hours approxamately.

M: The entire thing takes 100 hours?

K: Yep

M: You must have rocks in your head... what the hell posseses you to wanna sit on a plane for 100 hours?

K: Actualyy we got great sleep last night coz it was a long flight across the indian ocean, but uh.. it was our idea. We wanted to do something that had never been done before to promote the new album. We haven’t been to Australia and South East Asia for 4 and a half years, and we’ve never been here, so thats why we’re doing it.

M: On the plane - which is your own plane... your own Backstreet Boys plane...

Boys: No, we’re renting it

Brian: for 5 days

M: God, they’re so rich

H: We can only have it for 4 days, coz it’s rented.

M: Oh, so you gotta get back or someone will break your legs for the plane.

Boys: (laughing) Exactly

M: But I take it the plane says Backstreet Boys along the side of it, right?

K: Yeah... we got these....

N: No, Howie painted it...

H: Yeah, I went out there... but the budget ran out

N: We were paying so much for the plane so...

M: But I take it the planes been kitted out, right? You got beds on the plane, you’re not sitting in a normal...

H: Yeah, we got a bed

M: I mean, you’re not sitting in coach

K: No

H: No, the seats are quite comfortable actually. We got 1 bed wich... we hang out from night to night. 3 of us sleep on or 2 of us...

N: 3 of us...

H: But uh, it’s quite comfortable

M: I hope the piolets are BSB fans... they’ll get a lot of humming from the back...

K: Yeah, they’re cool. They let us sit up in the cockpit. I’ve been up in the cockpit the past 3 landings. I got to fly last nigh. It was real cool...

N: Oh, you did?

K: yeah

N: Oh really...

M: You didn’t know about that did you?

N: This is news to the other guys

A: Thats why the plane was going up and down last night...

M: Yeah, exactly, dont worry about your saftey as long as he gets to fly.

N: And Kevin... and Kevin... yeah

M: Listen, we asked some of South Africa for some questions for you guys this morning... let me run through them quickly. Nick... uh, got married...

K: No

N: No, I’ve been married for 15 years

M: Oh, no, sorry, why are you ot married?

N: Why am I not married?

M: Yeah

B: Yeah, why aren’t you?

N: Well, I think I’m 20 years old. I’m pretty young... I’m the youngest in the group and ya know, I still got a lot of life to live

B: (the guys are all laughing) Right on, you tell ‘em!

M: Kevin’s got the jacket... uh, I’ve forgotten these damn questions. Ummm, Kevin with the jacket... wheres Kevin? I’ve forgotten which one of you is which.

N: That one, the one who tried to fly the plane

M: Jacket? Did you have a jacket? They wanted me to ask about ( they were talking about the one he wore at the ema’s)

B: A what?

K: I dunno... a jacket (boys are all trying to figure which one he means)

M: I’ve forgotten. It helps alot when I write down the questions and dont know what they mean.

Boys: Yeah (laughing)

M: Somebody wanted to know... I mean, how’s this for a stupid question? Is there a possibility that BSB will go off and do solo carreers? I know that might be a dirty word among you...

N: No, no, it’s not dirty at all

K: We want eachother to... I mean, we want to give eachother room to do things. With film, acting, writing, producing, doing solo things. Um, we’re just enjoying what we’re soing as a group now, and maybe later on we’ll do solo things...

M: But I mean, all groups like yourselves always get pestered with the same old oh how long can it last...

K: We’ve been together 8 years now and this is our fourth album and with every album, I mean things have just gotten better. We feel like we’re becoming better producers and better vocalists and we still feel we have a lot to do as a group.

M: Now this publicity tour that you’re doing is gonna lead to a concert tour, right?

Boys: yeah

B: We start in the US on Januuary 22nd...

A: 23rd

B: 23rd. We do a block of time there, for like 8 or 9 weeks, then we’re gonna head over to the Far East, we’re gonna fit in Europe and South America, and hopefully we can fit in Africa. It’d be nice to...

K: Come back...

B: Come back here and tour coz the BSB pride ourselves in making good music and we pride ourselves in our live shows. Thats probably one of the best things we like to do as a group is perform live and we’d love for our fans to see our live show.

M: I take it theres no commitment to an African leg?

N: Well right now we’re...

K: Still putting dates together

H: Exactly. The only dates that have been confirmed is the US leg so far, which will probably take us to march.

M: Ok, now whats the story with the monkey?

K: Monkey?

M: The monkey... you wanted a monkey?

K: We wanted some wildlife when we got here to take pictures with to show that we’d been to South Africa.

N: Oh yeah, wow...

M: Oh ok

N: We had a monkey named bubbles that we bring on the plane normally

B: (laughing) No, thats mikey

N: Mikey...

M: The monkey’s named Mikey?

N: He actually wanted to get one here...

And thats about where they cut the interview. They played some of the fan conference too... I’ll start typing that up soon :)
