Thanks to Backstreet.net reader Smash for sending this in.

She’s had hate mail from fans, but 30-year-old Leighanne Wallace still thinks there’s nothing better than being Mrs Brian BSB! She’s broken her silence to tell us about it…

How did you and Brian meet?

It was on the set of As Long As You Love Me, video in 1997 as I was one of the models in it. I was always taught in my acting classes to introduce myself to everyone, especially the stars, so I walked up to Brian and said, "Hello". That was how it started.

What happened next?

Brian asked me out there and then. In fact our first date was a dinner date here, in the Melrose Hotel in Los Angeles (where Smash Hits are talking to Leighanne), so I rang Brian last night and told him I was back in our hotel and he was like, "Oh baby, that is really romantic."

How did Brian propose?

Last Christmas Eve, Brian said he wanted to have a picnic in my mom’s garden. It was really cold so he had loads of blankets. He picked me up and took me downstairs and carried me into the garden with a blindfold on. I had no clue, I just thought, what a sweetie, he wants to give me a surprise picnic. Then he took off the blindfold and I saw Brian’s mouth move and he started talking but I was in complete shock and I can’t remember a word he said to me.

So you didn’t hear him ask?

I just know that first he said a prayer and then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. He waited to do it in my parents’ house so that I could share it with my family. It was beautiful.

Will there be a Backstreet baby soon?

Brian was saying he wanted us to start a family on our honeymoon night but I persuaded him to let me have a couple of years for my career. Fame doesn’t matter to me. Brian’s [fans] has put me off.

Why?

The fans get mad if we are out for dinner and he refuses to sign an autograph. It is like being a doctor and being on call all the time. I feel really discouraged by it. As long as I can just do some work as an actress and I have Brian then I will be happy.

How have Bri’s fans reacted to you?

We’ve had e-mails from some of them and they’re really bad. Most of them are really scary. I get quite a lot of e-mails saying, "You don’t deserve to live and I want you to die." I get scared but I handle it. I send them e-mails saying, "God bless you and I will pray for you." Some of them right back and apologise but if they continue I just delete them but it does scare me.

You’ve been stalked recently, was it hard?

I was on the set of my new movie Olive Juice and Brian flew out to see me. This stalker found out and wanted to meet me so he came round to the house I was staying. It was so scary, he was right there on my doorstep asking to talk to me. After I met him I found out he had been following me and Brian for 6 months. We told security and we’re hoping it will be the last of it.

Are you scared?

He did some really, really crazy things. He changed Brian’s driver’s licence number and got into his bank account credit report. He was trying to take over Brian’s identity. It was scary. But it’s over now, I hope.
