The interview happened back in late October when the Boys were in SLC, UT. It was aired last Wednesday (Dec. 8, 1999) ATOM: is that him?!?!? Brian: hehehe(laughs), yea it's me Atom: how you doin? Brian: I'm doin' alright Atom: so where u calling us from man? Brian: we are in uh, Lets see..Salt Lake City, Utah Atom: how many girls you got in your hotel room?? come on man, 10...15...20??? Brian: hahaha (laughs), uh, I dont know about that Atom: now you guys are going to stop by Houston on the second leg of your tour ( BRIAN: YEA), anything different we can expect from the first? Brian: uh, uh there might be uh... Atom: some surprises what? naked girls? (Brian laughs) Atom: you guys gonna sit down chat about it, regroup? Brian: uh we were, we were uh talking about that a couple days ago actually amongst us 5 and we were thinking about maybe possibly doing some wardrobe changes or uh some song changes just to uh differenciate I guess the audiences u know because a lot of people are going see us on this leg Atom: now, how long are you guys going to be on tour? Brian: well we've uh, we've been traveling with this specific tour like 6 or 7 months now Atom: what? another 6 or 7 to go? gee! Brian: yeah,hehe, probably so Atom: you guys feeling alot of pressure the first cd since it was so succesful I mean this one, lets face it proabbly going to be one of the biggest cds of the decade selling wise Brian: well we would hope so, hehehe, we keep our fingers crossed, but I know we were all pretty nervous um because of the uh whole talk i nthe indusrty and the music industry about the sophmore slump Atom: now let me ask you something, I know u guys are riding pretty high rite now u hvae been for the past few years, uh do u ever think about when this crazy rollercoaster ride is gonan end and whut ur going to do Brian: well, um, Iproabbly just wanted to go, uh, Imean I will be writing and producing music the rest of my life, I plan to do that thats..thats my love and um its my profession rite now how Imake my living Atom: best thing about being a backstreet boy at this very moment ? Brian: the best part of I think the backstreet boys where we sit right now is we're in control of everything and we're in control of the destinys that we hold for each of us so its going to be exciting to see how it pans out and I'm actually, I'm actually looking forward to it coz Ithink we proved alot of crtics wrong woith this boy band type thing(lil laugh) Atom: well they say different strokes for different folks, but u know obviously u have a hardcore audience, they might u kow be young but still its your audience and u do whut u do and u do it well. Atom: now let me ask u coz we alwayz ask every artist this when we talk to him, what do u listen to, whats in your cd player rite now? Brian: uh in my cd player rite now I've got brian mcknights brand new cd I've always Idolized his music and his production hopefully I'll be doing something like that possiblly solo down the road u know if I ever have that opportunity Atom: alright, now let me ask u a question when is the last time it must have been a loong time ago, that u were able to walk into a music store and actually purchase a cd, remember those days? Brian: yea, hehe, I remember Atom: can u even remember? Brian: is that why springsteen wrote the glory days? Atom: is that whut that was for, well then again opeopel lie me can go in and buy a couple cd's...u can BUY THE WHOLE FREAKIN STORE! Brian: hehe I dont know about that Atom: brian I know ur a very busy man uh we're gonan go ahead and let u off the hook here thank u so much for taking the time to take with us, and best of luck u guys are da bomb with the tour and we hope to defintiely, we're definitely gonna see u here in houstn soon Brian: well thats cool I appreciate it Atom: he's seen more women in a week than I've seen in my whole lifetime...
