Hi Caitlin, i was wondering if you could possibly post this up on your site because I want to make sure this Backstreet Fan's opinion was heard. If you do post it: Thanx so much!

Ok, i know i'm gonna get attacked for the following but here goes:

THIS WAS MY REACTION TO THE NEWS:

N Sync getting sued for 150 million bucks? HA! To all you people that think "oh my gosh that's a ton of money they might lose" I have something for you to think about: N Sync makes a {expletive} of money! if they lose that it won't break them cuz they can make a lot more. all the money they get from Tours, merchandise, cd's, that movie deal, etc. adds up to a lot of money. More than 150 mill. I assure you. Did i forget to mention the paycheck they get just from the label? Another thing, don't pity N Sync for the "harsh treatment" they received from Lou Pearlman. If they were treated "so badly" then how come they got that much money? 150 mill. is alot. I agree. Another thing, THEY WONT BREAK UP OVER THIS. maybe they will be forced to change their name, but that wont mean they will cease to exist. Although i admit to being totally anti-N Sync, I will say this "THEY ARE A GOOD BAND [meaning they have high record sales etc. NOT that I like them or think they compare to bsb, CUZ THEY DON'T]"

BUT ANYWAYS BACK TO THE HATING...

Another thing that's ticking me off is  the fact ppl are saying "poor N sync, they are being treated so badly, just like BSB" excuse me? no no no bsb were treated much worse. out of a 10 million dollar tour they got 300,000. Not individually but as a group. Not only that, Lou had disappointed them [bsb] by going behind their backs and making a copy of them. YES PPL N SYNC'S EXISTENCE WAS PURELY MADE UP BY PEARLMAN. BSB sued Pearlman for his unfairness to give them their rightful share. Pearlman had broke their contract. BSB didn't do a thing to breach their contracts. N Sync did something fans seem to not catch on to. They went BEHIND HIS BACK [lou pearlman's] to Jive records, and broke their contracts by signing to Jive without consulting Pearlman and Trans Continental Records. Then they have the nerve to go out and say JIVE is the label who will release their new cd, knowing that TRANS CONTINENTAL has the master recordings in their legal possession.

So who is the victim in the N SYNC vs. PEARLMAN case? In my opinion N Sync had it coming...did they truely expect to be able to breach contracts and get away with it? But Lou Pearlman also had it coming...I remember when BSB were in the law suit w/ him, I said he'll get backstabbed just like he did to my idols, and he DID! In my opinion it's BSB all the way, they aren't stupid, cuz they didn't break any contracts. They are leaving Jive with the reason, "JIVE RECORDS BREACHED THE CONTRACT WE HAD." BSB are within their rights to go on to another record label [Unlike N Sync who technically weren't supposed to]...but I think since they [bsb] have had bad luck with all these ppl breaching contracts, they should start their own label. Backstreet Records....hmm has a nice ring to it don't ya think?

email me (good or bad mail) at bsbgirl03@hotmail.com

After the huge response I hope to get, I will be back to write up on this subject.

Hey peoples-

Well I've posted some stuff on here a few times but this is a letter that really needs to be read. When I logged onto Backstreet.net and saw the headline "N Sync Hit With A $150 Million Lawsuit" my heart just dropped. Not because of the fact that N Sync is being sued, but due to the fact that things have changed and not for the better.

To us the fans, it has always been about the music. Okay, yeah, it's sometimes about Justin's baby blue eyes or AJ's kick ass hair, but deep down at the core is the music. Apparently it's not like that for everyone however. It saddens me to know that for people like Lou Pearlman, and the folks at RCA and BMG that it's all about the money. BSB and N Sync are two groups of five guys who are/were being exploited by the people who I'm sorry to say were in charge of their musical careers. However, to me that was the beginning. As things behind the scenes have changed I feel it's time for the people in front of the stage {us fans} to change.

Now I want to ask that you other fans, regardless of what kind of fan you are BSB or N Sync, take a stand and now change for not only for us, but for them. In this time it's important for them to know that along w/ their families and friends that we will stand behind them 100%. It's time to put away petty arguments and childish tendencies. Because we should know that it doesn't matter "which group is better", it doesn't matter who's "cuter out of Justin and Nick", it doesn't matter because these are ten guys all equally talented who are going through something that I fear might change the way they feel about the thing they all love: music. As we head into a new millennium I want us all to band together not as BSB fans, N Sync fans, boy band fans, or pop fans.

I want us to come together as music fans. As I step off my soap box I want you all to always remember no matter what, that it should always be about the music.

"Music is love, love is music, music is life, and I love my life."
"Music first, music last, music always."

Dear Backstreet.net,

I am a BSB fan, but I think that they are developing some major egos. Just because (well this is how it seems) 'N Sync signed with Jive BSB is leaving, or threatening to? It seems like they are scared that 'N Sync might out do them. They left their management because they too signed 'N Sync. Am I the only one who thinks that Kevin, Brian, A.J., Howie, and Nick are getting egos? I mean this is the second time they are going to leave somthing that has to do with their music.

They said that they love music, then why can't they be happy with the way things are? If they are doing what they love then they should be happy. I'm sorry, but the Boys are getting egos.

Sincerly,

(still a fan),

Lisa G.

I'd just like to voice my opinion about this whole ordeal. I think it's getting out of hand. But, don't you think it's odd, both BSB and now *N Sync are going through the same thing with Lou? Personally, I wouldn't have Lou manage my group. He's made it possible to exploit two huge groups. Sure, *N Sync breached their contract and I'm also sure there's a lot of info we don't know. But, when you go as far as telling MTV that you intend to make sure *N Sync doesn't exist. IT'S WRONG! He put the BSB through pretty much the same thing. I envy these guys, I don't know how they can deal with this stuff day in, day out. Well, thanks for listening!

Okay...I know a lot of you probably like him...I mean hey, he started BSB and N'SYNC, but he must be doing something wrong. BSB left him a while ago and now N'SYNC want's to. BSB sued him because of money reasons and because they wanted to go to the next level...Well, that's what N'SYNC wants to do to. I mean I didn't expect this to be a thing were Mr. Pearlman said "Oh sure boys you can go to the next level and leave the company." but, come on suing for $150 million just because they want to go to the "Next Level". Trans Continental isn't for groups like BSB and N'SYNC...it's for groups who are just starting out in the business. They still have LFO, Take 5, Inosense and so on. So, they lose a group or 2. We all know that Mr. Pearlmen will just go out and find more guy's that he knows that girls will think are "Cute" and "Hot".

I mean come on... try to look for the real talent here like can they sing not just oh I know the girls will love them. Also i don't see why BSB has to get so mad about N'SYNC going to Jive(The only reason why I'd leave is because of Britney Spears)Are BSB a little JEALOUS?N'SYNC and BSB say they are friends and get along, but we all know that's not true. What made me even more mad was that Mr. Pearlman lawyers said that he "Seeks to obtain a court order to prevent N'SYNC from existing" He knows that it will never happen...BSB won there lawsuit against Pearlman...I know N'SYNC will to...Even if your not N'SYNC fans, just show them support..BSB went through the same thing.

Thanks & KTBSBPA...and N'SYNC Pride

Ok, My opinion on the whole Jive thing is that its been carried out WAY to far. And i also cant believe what people are saying about BSB. Imagine how you would feel if you were in their shoes. I dont blame them at all, and I dont think anyone else should either. And personally I dont like nsync at all. To me they are just copying the boys, but thats not my point. My point is that this is NOT they boys' fault and if you judge them by this then you never were a true fan anyway.

ok you don't have to use my words, but please take them into consideration.

Although the BSB consider 'N Sync "pale imitators" that doesn't mean that they are against them. They are in the business, so that they get the most out of their careers, so by leaving Jive, they gain respect from the music industry community. They are not trying to avoid 'N sync because of personal hate or insecurity, but because they don't want to be managed by the same label. If they are both under Jive, then everything they do will be the same, the promotions, most of the gigs, they way they perform and what merchandise goes out, and these are some of the few things that distinguish the two bands. The BSB don't want to be under the same label for career reasons and possibly to get more money, and not because of personal dislike.

Thank You,

Leslie Murchie
