THIS IS WHAT SOME GUY WROTE: BSB never announced officially that they would make an appearance at the Galaxy Club.In fact, the only proof that they would be there was if you were gonna take the Galaxy Club's word for it. The same thing happened here in Chicago a couple of weeks ago when a club said Bruce Sprinstein would be making an appearance there and he didn't. fans were mad, but they also only had the club's word that he would be there. Many fans are just too gullible. THIS IS WHAT I WROTE: Us fans are not gullable! On the way to the car from the BSB concert, I found a flyer saying exactly this :
presents The Biggest "Official" After Party of the Millennim from the hottest tour in the nation join... {Howie's pic} {Nicks pic} {A.J.'s pic} for a chance of a lifetime to meet your favorite B-Boys at CLUB GALAXY what are we supposed to believe? that they are not going to be there? If you see an advertisment in the paper about Hot Dogs 50% off at jewel, and it was really full price, would the manager call all of their customers gullable? i hope not.
From: Gillian Felix [zzombie23@hotmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 1999 11:56 PM I wonder how much money the owners of Galaxy made the night the Boys were "supposed" to show up? Nice publicity stunt, but if anyone should be taken to court it should be the owners of Galaxy. To anyone who might read this... Do you really think that the Boys would advertise that they are showing up to a club and not make it? First of all that would be down right dangerous! They love their fans but they have to consider their safety too. They were in a huge city like NY for 4 days and they were spotted at clubs but it was not advertised. Come on people, we all want to meet them but lets be more aware of when we are being ripped off here. Shame on you Mr. Galaxy owner, if your story is true isn't it your responsibility to provide the necessary security for your patrons and guests? If you care so much about the patrons to want to sue the BOYS, maybe you should refund the disappointed fans their cover charge. But as usual I guess you are just another person who wants to "Cash in" on The Boys. Hey that's just my humble opinion. Sincerely, Gillian
From: Jenniffer Downing [jenn77@merr.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 1999 7:42 PM I would just like to say a quick something about the Boys' not making an appearance at the Club Galaxy last week in Chicago. According to WGN-Chicago news, the Boys' promoters, not the nightclub, were taking the money from the fans at the door. And when all the fans got inside, they ran off with the money, leaving a great deal of disappointed fans. I'll admit, I was one of the gullible ones that went in, paid the money, hoping to see them up close, blah blah blah. And now I'm really sorry I did it. I could have used that money for some food!! I was handed a flyer as I walked out of the show saying that Nick, AJ, and Howie were going to be there. And when I left the club a few hours later, I was also handed some phone numbers to call to file a claim against these people. If anyone is interested in the number, I'll be happy to give it to you, but note: I called these numbers the next day. Three of them were disconnected, and the fourth was someone's beeper with the production company that put this whole sham together. I also read that the club is filing a lawsuit - good for them. But it needs to be filed against the management, not the Boys' personally. It's not the guys' fault that their management did this without asking or telling them. Whatever the case may be, I hope that the Boys' know that there were a lot of upset and disappointed kids there. Thank you.
From: kleerig@pop3.qwestinternet.net Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 1999 4:51 PM I just wanted to say that I really don't think the backstreet boys are to blame, I don't live in Chicago, but I don't think that they boys would upset their fans like this pourposly. I don't know about everyone else but I would rather have them safe than sorry. I know fans were upset, but as I said before they wouldn't pourposly hurt us, the fans ~Heather
From: AvsCL22Rox@aol.com Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 1999 4:47 PM this is response into the Club Galaxy thingy: I don't believe the boys are responsible for the not showing up. It seems to me that the club completed false advertising. A similar thing happened this summer here in Hershey, PA with NSync. Although *Nsync did show up, the group and their management was giving tons of hassles etc. It ended up all three parties involved *Nsync, the radio station, and club were being supeoned. I don't believe anything happened that was announced "publicly" but I still payed 20.00 and got in for 5 minutes and it was DUMB. I truly believe if the BSB had known about their so called "Apperance" they'd be there. They don't seem like the type to just skip something they have no clue about and to upset their fans. I'd hope at least they have more respect than to do that!
