I just had to add my .02 because i too was at the club galaxy after the concert. there was no way that this was bsb's fault. we got to the club almost at midnight...which is when they were supposed to "appear." there was a radio station there doing a publicity thing, but there were only 3 cop cars...when we finally paid our 25 bucks to enter the club, there were only 2 security guys (bouncers) and some little guys who probably ran the club. there was no way in hell that there would be enough security if the bsb actually showed up. people were crammed in the building shoulder to shoulder...bouncers kept saying that they were on their way when we asked, but the club never did make any sort of announcement that the bsb were supposed to be there. we stayed until about 3:30 in the morning in hopes that one would actually show up...but alas, they never did. the club did hand out bogus phone numbers...i called both 1-800 numbers, one was disconnected, and the other was no longer in service. if the club really wasn't at fault, they would have had these numbers accessible for the disappointed fans to call...but they didn't. also, as we were leaving, the club galaxy people were taking down the posters and ads in a hurry...but they didn't get the words taken down from the front before i took pics of it, lol. i've got evidence! :) it really upsets me that the club would do this all for publicity. i ended up writing a letter to the bsb under the problems part of the web...(my friend already posted part of my letter to a couple lists) so hopefully someone will read my letter...after going to get my car from red's towing...i found out that club galaxy has had a bad reputation in the past with doing crap like this...some people were even warned ahead of time not to go, but we weren't :( so after paying to get in and getting my car towed...this once in a lifetime chance to supposedly meet the boys cost $155 between my friend and i. i just wanted you a! ll to know what happened and not to blame bsb for this. thanks for reading :) kelly :)
From: Jaime B [jme77@webtv.net] Sent: Sunday, October 10, 1999 12:44 AM hello/ my name is jaime and i did go into the club thursday night after the show. i had a flier on my car and a friend and i went to the galaxy club in des plains after the last chicago show. before we went, we asked one of the guys who was still handing out flyers what was up. he said it cost 10.00 to get in, no dress code, and it was all ages. when we got there you had to be 17 and older with a valid id, plus pay 25.00 entry fee if you wanted to wait to get in. if you didnt want to wait and wanted in asap, you could pay 50.00. i waited until 200am when i was standing talking to a bartender, her boyfriend (the manager) told her they werent coming, and that they were going to wait to announce it. when you left, they had you sign your name and address with your phone number, and then gave you a piece of paper to call to make a claime to get your money back. which really wasnt fair to us, the fans. we wait fr what seems to be forever to get in, in the cold, then pay a huge price for a meet and greet, that they dont even show up at. i still love the guys with all my heart, but i just want to say it wasnt fair. thanks. jaime belcher
From: Michael Chew [mchew1@mpdr0.chicago.il.ameritech.net] Sent: Saturday, October 09, 1999 7:55 PM BSB never announced officially that they would make an appearance at the Galaxy Club.In fact, the only proof that they would be there was if you were gonna take the Galaxy Club's word for it. The same thing happened here in Chicago a couple of weeks ago when a club said Bruce Sprinstein would be making an appearance there and he didn't. fans were mad, but they also only had the club's word that he would be there. Many fans are just too gullible.
From: Jennifer Ray [jennyck@swbell.net] Sent: Saturday, October 09, 1999 7:55 PM Hey well i think u need to have an article about how the boys feel about everything going on? I mean getting sued by the club and going threw court becuase jive. Personaliy i am worried about the boys. I am worried that they wont be able to make another cd or do anymore concerts. I wish everything will just go back the way it used to be. If they guys didnt want to be with jive ( i understand why i wouldnt want to be on the same label as a rival band) then let it be. No need to go to court and plus i think that club has no right to sue bsb. Everyone could have a reason why they couldnt go and if the body guards or jive or firm wouldnt let them go then they couldnt. Well my heart is crying out for some answers and if u do please post it or e-mail me back ckjenny13@hotmail.com thank you for reading jennifer ray from st.louis missouri
From: Cheryl Norris [Panda9903@nashville.com] Sent: Saturday, October 09, 1999 1:55 PM I just wanted to comment on this. Last March 30, 1999, N Sync was in Nashville. For like a month THE MIX FACTORY(a club) had said the after party was being held there, and the way the ad talked, they were making an appearence. Hundreds of fans showed up, and had to pay a $20 cover charge. Needless to say, it was just a party for fans and N Sync knew nothing about it. Cheryl Norris
