- Date: Oct 12, 2099 Sears - Backstreet Boys Larger Than Life Awards in Partnership with Youth Service America -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Larger Than Life Awards will recognize 36 young people in Backstreet Boys U.S. tour markets who are improving their communities through service to others or the environment. The Backstreet Boys, along with Sears and Youth Service America, created the Larger Than Life Awards to reach out to young people and encourage them to take an active role in the youth service movement. To help spark youth interest, the Backstreet Boys linked their song Larger Than Life, from their new album Millennium, to the awards. Each of the 36 Larger Than Life Award winners will receive a $2,000 grant for their organization to fund a project for National Youth Service Day, April 14-15, 2000. Two Grand Prize winners will be selected from the initial 36 winners to receive a $10,000 grant for their volunteeer organizations. Grand Prize winners will be judged on the scope and impact of their projects for National Youth Service Day 2000.
