Backstreet Boys upset fans?

Music The Backstreet Boys allegedly broke their promise and didn't meet their fans. The pop princes were supposed to head to the Galaxy Club in Des Plaines Ill. around 12 a.m. last night (Oct. 7). A manager at Galaxy said the Backstreet Boys had a signed agreement with Galaxy to appear at the Club on Oct. 7th. But the boys never came. Staff at Galaxy said they'd gotten many phone calls from excited fans about their chance to meet the boys face to face. The club management made plans to increase security and were charging a $20.00 cover to get into the club. All the excitement and preparation was apparently for nothing. "Their production people were here," said the manager. "They kept saying, 'They're coming, they're coming' but all of a sudden they told us they (the Backstreet Boys) weren't coming after all." "We had a lot of pissed off fans here last night," she said. The nightclub is filing a lawsuit against the band [Backstreet.net note: some say it's not against the band but against the Georgia based promotion company who booked them ] for breaking their contract. The Backstreet's management company, The Firm, wouldn't comment on the issue. ------------- Stephanie, a Backstreet.net reader was there and this is what she had to say about the whole thing: I don't know if any of you in the immediate surrounding Chicago areas tried to go to the Galaxy Club to catch a glimpse of the BSB, but I did. I heard it was $25 to get into the club. I was just a watcher from the outside, I just wanted to glimpse at them from the limo or whatever they pulled up in. So, on Thursday night, I went there with some friends, and we waited, and waited, and waited. I struck up some conversations with mothers standing by, which was humorous to say the least. But, I think I saw the BOYS circle around the place, I know I saw a body guard drive by many times, but there was no way those BOYS were getting in that club safely. The security for the club said that their body guards weren't letting them come. And now the club is said to be suing the Georgia Based promotions group that booked BSB there. I know we were all disappointed that they didn't show, but come on, do we really need to sue them? It's bad enough the club didn't refund the clubgoers $$ to my knowledge. The BSB did nothing wrong, if conditions were unsafe (which is what I perceived them to be), then I would rather have them safe so we can see them do more concerts! Comment on this item.
