- Date: Oct 06, 2099 Trans Continental Records Announces Submission Rules for Casting Prime Time Reality Series to Air on ABC Television Network Detailed Guidelines and Application Forms Appear On-Line ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Trans Continental Records (TCR) today announced the qualifications for sending videotaped submissions for consideration as part of the national talent search planned to form a band specifically for a television show in association with MTV Productions and to air on ABC Television. "First and foremost is talent and drive," said Louis J. Pearlman, founder of Trans Continental Records. "If you qualify, then we'll give you a chance to show us your talent." Interested performers must be Male; over the age of 18 as of November 1, 1999; a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise legally able to work in the U.S.; have a high school diploma or equivalent; and be willing to relocate to Orlando, FL. If qualified, applicants are instructed to send a VHS cassette containing a maximum 5-minute performance of no more than 2 songs. While the voice is most important, performers should pay attention to lighting and be sure to highlight dance moves and instruments played, if any. However, all VHS cassettes become the exclusive property of Trans Continental Records, MTV Productions, and ABC and cannot be returned. Visit www.cybervenue.com , www.mtv.com , www.abc.com or www.go.com to print an application form or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the submission center to receive an application by mail. Trans Continental cautions that time is short and all applications and videotapes must be received by Oct 27, 1999. The application should be attached to an 8x10 or 5x7 photograph and sent to Trans Continental Records at: O-Town, c/o Trans Continental, 7616 Southland Blvd., Suite 114, Orlando, FL 32809. TCR staff will choose 100 entrants for call backs in each of eight major U.S. cities to show their stuff. Following the preliminary screening, 25 performers will be chosen for a last call back to be held in Orlando, FL. Ultimately, however, only five will make the final cut. If chosen, performers will be responsible to travel to initial callbacks being held Nov. 3 in Honolulu, Nov. 6 in Los Angeles, Nov. 9 in Las Vegas, Nov. 11 in Dallas, Nov. 13 in Nashville, TN, Nov. 16 in Chicago, Nov. 18 in New York, and Nov. 20 in Orlando, FL. TCR will accept only VHS video submissions. All submissions must be received by October 27. Notification of callbacks will be made between October 30 - November 4. Complete rules and application forms are available on the worldwide web at several locations, including www.cybervenue.com , www.mtv.com , www.abc.com and www.go.com . Trans Continental Records, founded in 1991 in Orlando, FL by Pearlman, in order to promote and manage the Backstreet Boys, has developed a reputation unique since the days of Motown for discovering, developing and nurturing musical talent. With sales in excess of 65 million units in over 25 countries, TCR boasts several of the world's hottest and most influential pop acts, including the Backstreet Boys, 'NSYNC, LFO, C Note, Take 5, and Innosense as well as the soon-to-be-released Phoenix Stone.
