The platinum records will sell for $199, with proceeds going to City of Hope. They come complete with the Record Industry Association of America's certification that each title shipped over a million copies. Each LP will be engraved with the buyer's name. VH1, MTV and Warner Bros. are all cooperating in the promotion. You can visit VH1.com's own Web page or go to the City of Hope site at www.hope-awards.com. The stars are also coming out to support the City of Hope awards dinner. The theme for the black-tie event is From Brooklyn to Burbank and will honor Phil Guartararo, the president of Warner Bros. records. He will be serenaded by k d lang, Faith Hill, Eric Benet and Janice Robinson. The event will be held on October 6 at the Warner Bros. studios in Burbank, California.
