To date the band has released 5 studio albums and have sold over 75 million albums worldwide which has made them one of the most successful bands of all time. Last summer, founding member Kevin Richardson decided to take a break from the group and pursue other interests. With his blessing, the four remaining members, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McLean, proceeded to record the follow-up to their 2005 platinum album Never Gone. Brian Littrell is also involved in some solo work which will be taking him to Windsor, ON this September. Backstreet Boys new single "Inconsolable" is the first single from the band's upcoming album to be released on October 30, 2007.
