Date: Sep 07, 2004 Aug 25 2004 A 15-year-old girl from Reagan is about to have her wish come true - meeting the Backstreet Boys. Stacy Durbin and her family will leave Saturday for Los Angeles, where she will meet her favorite band and ''show them how well she can dance,'' according to a news release from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-South. Durbin will also visit Universal Studios on her trip. ''The mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy,'' the release says. Durbin has Proteus syndrome, a condition that causes atypical growth of bones, skin or head and a variety of other symptoms. She has the overgrowth of bones. Wish requests include getting a puppy, meeting the president of the United States and going to Walt Disney World. Granting a wish costs an average of $5,000. If you would like to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation, call (800) 264-9474 or go to www.wish.org.
