Date: Apr 15, 2003 Source: StarShine Magazine Submitted By: Sandy FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The 2003 StarShine Readers' Choice Awards Nominees are in and this year's choices include last year winners, Aaron Carter and Caitlin Frazier, but bring in first time StarShine nominees, Vi3, Pollyanna Dorough, Nick Carter and A*Teens! The competition is steep this time around as Aaron Carter's reign at the top of StarShine is threatened by his big brother Nick as well as breakout boy group, Vi3. The new group from Chicago is probably the biggest surprise in this year's nominees since their first single, "Eyes Closed So Tight" just started to heat up the charts and they recently opened for their main competition in the awards, Nick Carter. Nick Carter's chances are pretty good. His solo efforts on Now or Never have paid off and he will most likely grab several awards, but not without a fight from his little brother and tour mates. Aaron has four nominations including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for Another Earthquake. Nick Carter, Vi3 and Swedish co-ed pop group, A*Teens all have the most nominations at five nods. In the unsigned artist corner, last year's winner Caitlin Frazier and previous nominee, Andrew Fromm return to the category, but this time battle against popular unsigned artists, Pollyanna Dorough and RyanJoy! In the female category, both Caitlin and Pollyanna show their power against already signed artist, Willa Ford and the powerhouse songstress, Miss Krystal. As for the males, Andrew Fromm and former Dream Streeter Chris Trousdale both prove to be StarShine favorites gaining nominations without even releasing an album. They have to keep up with the Carter brothers though, who both released fan favorite albums and have had amazing responses from the StarShine readers thus far. Other nominees include Play, No Secrets, Triple Image, Christina Aguilera and Niagara Falls rock band, Klear. Voting starts April 21, 2003. Readers can vote online by going to www.starshinemag.com. Polls close June 1st at midnight. Winners will be announced in StarShine Magazine on July 25th. All winners will be notified before this date and will be presented with an official StarShine Magazine award trophy.
