Date: Mar 04, 2003 What: "TAKE A STRIKE WITH HOWIE D." In the midst of award shows and Hollywood parties, there is one event that will take place this Saturday, March 8th distinguishing itself with inherent value and depth at "Jillian's Hi-Life Lanes" chaired by Backstreet Boy, Howie D. Saturday's events will begin with a pop style breakfast following an exciting game of celebrity bowling concluding with a live auction benefiting the Dorough Lupus Foundation, a non profit organization started by Dorough and his family shortly after his sister surrendered to the disease in 1998 -- Howie D. is calling upon fans and friends this Saturday morning to help raise awareness and funds in his family's campaign to educate people about the chronic autoimmune disease. Who: Backstreet Boy, Howie D. himself along with several celebrity friends. When: Saturday, March 8, 2003 / 9:00am to 1:00pm Where: Jillians Hi-Life Lanes, Universal City Walk, 1000 Universal Studios Blvd. Background: Backstreet Boy, Howie D.'s phenomenal music career can only be shadowed by his passion to raise awareness and find a cure for Lupus. Dorough is in a hurry, and is working tirelessly to help find a cure. "This disease took my sister from my family. It means the world to me to have the support of family, friends and the public to help find a cure for lupus. With your help we are making progress in telling the lupus story and the foundation is making strides in helping Lupus treatment facilities help those who can't afford treatment get treatment. We are also looking at how research and what kind of research is being done. We will keep the public informed when we learn of anything new. We hope to report one day that a cure has been found."
