Backstreet Boys member Kevin Richardson made his Broadway debut yesterday (Jan. 20) joining the cast of "Chicago." The singer has taken the role slick lawyer Billy Flynn, replacing Billy Zane ("Titanic," "The Phantom"). He'll remain in the role through March 9. The show will run at New York's Shubert Theatre through Sunday (Jan. 26), after which it will move to the slightly smaller Ambassador Theatre, where it will re-open Jan. 29.

Richardson, who has previous regional theater experience, joins "Chicago" at a very high profile time, thanks to the blockbuster film version currently in U.S. movie houses. On Sunday, Richard Gere and Renee Zellweger won Golden Globe Awards for their respective portrayals of Flynn and Roxie Hart in the silver screen take on the musical, which was awarded the best motion picture - musical or comedy honor at the event.

Starring opposite Richardson on Broadway is Caroline O'Connor, a veteran of the musical's Australian cast, as Velma Kelly; Belle Calaway as Roxie; Roz Ryan as Matron "Mama" Morton; and Rob Bartlett as Amos Hart. Tickets can be purchased through Telecharge. For more information on the show, visit it's official Web site.
