Date: Oct 30, 2002 Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough, 29, was honored Saturday for his efforts to educate the public about Lupus, the disease that claimed the life of his sister Caroline four years ago. The United Catholic Music and Video Association presented Howie and his family with the Inspiration Award. "It feels good to be acknowledged," he said after accepting the award at the Hartke Theater on the campus of Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Dorough and his sister Pollyanna, who hosted the awards ceremony, wrote and produced "Fly to Heaven," which Howie refers to as the "theme song for the foundation." Their performance of the duet on Saturday left some audience members in tears. -- STEPHEN M. SILVERMAN and TRACY SCOTT
