- Date: Jun 22, 2001 It was a bittersweet event Sunday when grieving parent Naomi Hollingsworth-Clark got to meet The Backstreet Boys at the Greensboro Coliseum. Hollingsworth-Clark's daughter, Crystal, 12, died unexpectedly a year ago of a heart inflammation. The horse-loving little girl idolized The Backstreet Boys and had gotten the chance to see them in February 2000 with her mother. When the band made its return this weekend on the exact same date that Crystal had died a year earlier, Hollingsworth-Clark took it as a sign that she needed to be there. She had hoped to get the boy-band members to dedicate a song in her daughter's honor. The band didn't grant that request, but did -- thanks to the generosity and strings pulled by WKZL disc jockey Terrie Knight -- get to meet the boys backstage. Knight had read a story about Hollingsworth-Clark and her daughter and offered to help with the passes.
