Backstreet Boys Say "It's True" On Burger CDs

- ![]() Date: Aug 22, 2000 The Backstreet Boys are set to reveal a new track, "It's True," on a series of CDs that will be available exclusively through the fast-food chain Burger King later this month. As part of the Boys' deal with BK, which was first announced in January (see "Backstreet Boys Plan New LP For October; Burger King To Issue Promo CD, Video"), all three CDs will include "It's True" (which will appear on the group's forthcoming album) as well as nine unreleased live versions of their greatest hits, a mix of studio and a cappella songs, and an interactive CD-ROM component. The Boys will also issue an exclusive 45-minute video, titled "For The Fans," through the burger chain. The tape includes new backstage footage and interviews, as well as live performances of hits including "Larger Than Life," "I Want It That Way," and more. The CDs and video will be sold exclusively at Burger King for a recommended price of $2.99 each with the purchase of a value meal. The offer kicks off August 28 and will continue until the stock sells out. One day prior to the Burger King launch, the group will debut its Internet comic strip, a series of Webisodes penned by "Spider-Man" creator Stan Lee, at www.backstreetproject.com The Backstreet Boys are scheduled to release their third album on November 21, 2000.
