"These look-a-like acts imported from Toronto, Canada, promise to deliver the `real thing,'" said Jan Jacques, representing California Stage & Film Corp., the Adventure Park's concert organizers, "and every aspect to create the illusion of each group has been carefully orchestrated. Fans often mistake Donna Huber as the real Shania Twain and, as a result, Donna was recently featured on a TNN special in Nashville. "All the look-a-like acts give such top-notch impersonations of Ricky Martin, 'N Sync, Britney Spears, the Spice Girls and Twain, that you feel like you're really watching these original headliners. It's so incredible that it gives me goosebumps!" Other celebrity bonus acts include the eclectic band Blue Root, with the "real" teenage heartthrob Jason Richter ("Free Willy," "Cops and Robbers" and "Laser Hawk") on rhythm guitar and Taylor Corbin on lead guitar. The group recently played to a sold-out crowd at the Roxy which, according to Jason, was the result of a lot of the band's own hard work. "We passed out flyers and sold our own tickets, rather than relying on just my affiliation with the motion picture industry," Richter said, "and it really paid off! We look forward to promoting our appearance at Pharaoh's Lost Kingdom the same way." Other band members include Ben Riess (18) on bass, Tim Covell (17) on drums, with Wes Pagano (19) as the lead singer. Blue Root appears at the Adventure Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at 9 p.m. each night. Another surprise bonus includes Friday night's guest MC, Becky Borg, star of the popular Warner children's home video and syndicated TV program "There Goes A ...," which has sold a remarkable 3.1 million video units to families nationwide. "It's great to be part of this unique show for young people," Borg said, "and it's perfect timing since I'm just launching my new Web site, Laughnlearn.com (http://www.laughnlearn.com), where I'll be showcasing our new home video series, `The Adventures of Dave & Becky.' In this new show, Dave Hood and I play reporters for a real kid's newspaper (ages 2-14), and we introduce our audience to cultures from all around the world. The videos, like the concerts at the Adventure Park, are for the entire family to enjoy." Pharaoh's Lost Kingdom Adventure Park concert tickets are $6.25 for season pass ticket holders and $12.50 for concerts only. Daily concerts are free with purchase of daily Pharaoh park passes.
