- Date: Apr 24, 2000 Random House is cranking up its plans for the new Backstreet Boys book due out in July. "It is going to have a first printing of 500,000 copies," says a spokeswoman. That's considered a can't-miss-bestsellerdom commitment in the book world. The title is being billed as a fanzine photo book - not exactly a riveting life story or memoir. But the boys in the band did write the captions, boasts their publicist. That's not as easy as it sounds - there are more 300 pics by the official band photographer, Andre Csillag. That means the five boys in the group - A.J. McLean, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorough - each had to contribute more than 60 captions apiece - and many of the captions contained more than one sentence!
