SMTMOBL is going to go down as one of the BSB's best videos. This was a big step for them. This video showed the more mature, older side of them. It seemed so unlike a "boyband" video, when compared with As Long As You Love Me, or I'll Never Break Your Heart.

Kevin's story was the saddest, at least in my opinion. It was just so much more real than the others', since he had those home-movies. It was very somber. The video carried a deep, emotional message and it was fun to analyze every little bit of it. (My English class spends 90% of the time analyzing classical literature so I've developed the habit of taking everything apart.)

I think the girl represented the memories and the pain that they've been through. She was always there whenever they were reminiscing and feeling nostalgic, but she always faded away when they got too close. It was as if they wanted to return to the past and live it again, but she was always pulling her disappearing act, like she didn't want them to go back in time. She wanted them to move on. The candles were sort of a representative of that. She lit all the candles and then as she walked away, one of them blew out. It's saying that yes, someone has died, but the rest of the candles keep burning...life goes on.

Oh, and no, I didn't cry when I saw this. Actually, I was smiling through it because Howie looked so good. What can I say? Eye candy.

"Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely" was the saddest video coming from the hottest boy band alive, The Backstreet Boys!! It was great that they put they're personal life in it, even though they were upset while making the video cuz it was so personal. But let me just say that its good for your fans, because it gives us fans a chance to see what your life is like. And for what I see, you guys all suffered a lot with family and friends deaths in your lives!! I also want to give out a big shout out to my man Nick Carter, I Love You so much, I'm your #1 fan, trust me!! Bye BSB fans!! I Love You Nick!!!!:)

i absolutely love the video.i don't normally cry about anything but it is just so meaningful.

It's heartrenching to watch Brian watch him self nearly slip

away but, helplessly,he has to stand and watch.

then, its my fave a.j.-i've heard many versions of what his portion of the video is supposed to mean. Most think it has something to do with his teenage-relationship that shattered

when his 14yr.g.f. got killed in a car crash.Another version-some think A.J.'s part is about what his twin sis could have looked like. Some believe his part is about Amanda.i dout it!!!!!!!!!11

i can not even begin to imagine how hard it must've been to bring up all these old memories.

Howie's is about his sister Caroline who died of lupus.

Its just about howie never being able to say goodbye.

Kevin's is about his dad.He died when Kevin was 19.

It must have been absolutley saddening to sit there and bring back those memories.Nick's part of the video confuses some people.I think its about him having to grow up so fast and never having a rrreal teenage life and now he's lonely for someone who will love him for him.I'm crying just writing this! It's such a great video!aj rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that the Show Me The Meaning video is by far one of the best that the boys have done, there is no question. Here's my take on each part and then the video as a whole:

Brian's-Great effect is given by showing Bri standing there and then showing him in the bed, I like the way that the other people seem to be moving in slow-motion throughout, only he seems to be moving real speed during his scene, even when the doctors are running it is slower. I like the black and white, with a few bits of color, such as the red line in the hall, stricking effect. Very sad, and hard hit, well played and seems to fit with the words. I like the way he walks out of the hospital, leaving himself on the bed, also very good.

AJ's-This is the only one where I really like the way the girl disappeared. She was slightly swirled, then faded, very nice. I also like the way he's looking at the picture, the tear isn't needed, but it does add effect. Good idea, using the death of his girlfriend in car crash.

Kevin's-Oh god is this sad! I was in tears, and Kevin's not even my fave! That must have been hard for him! Again, I like the black and white, with the color home video, good touch. The most stricking part is when Kevin is looking out the window and you see the image of his fathers face next to his. Throughout this whole part Kevin /looks/ sad, though I don't think it was just acting, I somehow think he was sad, I act, and I know fake sad, that wasn't fake sad, that was remembering sad, again, it goes perfectly with the word. I also like the image of just Kev and the projector, him looking at the screen, well done!

Howie's-He's sitting alone in an almost empty club, fits him, good. He's holding a tea cup, at least I think that's what it is, either tea or coffee, not alchol, that's clear. He too looks sad, nothing like his usuall grinning self, again, it's not the loook of pure acting, but the look of remembering the hard things in life, the same look I get every time I think of my Grandpa, who died of cancer. I like the girl running to him, and can tell it's his sister, but don't like how they fade her, she should just dissapear, not do that weird thing. You notice she runs right by Kevin. He gestures to Howie, maybe signifing that he knows what he's going through.

Nick's: I don't get his, it doesn't seem to have any personal significance. Though I do know the girl was supposed to have just had a fight with her boyfriend, maybe he's saving her, keeping both her and her boyfriend from lonliness?

AJ gets of the bus/Nick meets with him/all the others come out/they walk-Also nice, AJ is so dramatic when he gets off, I like the flare of his movements. I like the Denniz St. Bus as well. Like the way he meets Nick, Howie and Kev walk oout of the club, and Brian runs out, and they all meet in the street. Hard hit by the walking, though I don't know how, it just seems sad somehow.

The girl in black stuff-I odn't get all this with the candles, they should have done more with other things and left this out, it just looks weird and confuses me.

All in All-A great video! Probably their best to date. Good effects, good use of the problems they've faced in their pasts, must have been really hard to make.

The title of the song itself is a given: The video is about the different factors that lead to lonliness, in this case, the guys' lonliness. However there are so many mix-ups with the story behind AJ's and Nick's. Some might have actually hit home while others were just plain silly (but it's OK. It's the kind of video that makes you ponder if there's a story behind the story behind the story. Whew!) Anyway, everybody knows that Brian's is about his heart surgery and him looking at what could have happened if something have gone wrong. AJ's can't possibly about his lost 'twin sister'. How can you have a picture of someone you've never even seen? It can't be about Amanda either because they're still together. Even when they do break up, they get back together again. So, it's about that girl friend of his who died years ago. Kevin's, of course, is about his dad (it was beautiful, btw). Howie's is of his sister. And finally, Nick's story. No, it's not about an ex-gf who died by getting hit by a bus and he wishes that he could have saved her, and it's not about him getting hurt by an 'abusive ex' (sheesh how can you guys believe all that?). Him walking by himself says it all: the fact that he grew up in the business led to his loss of his childhood. It goes to show that no matter how 'glamorous and fabulous' being a star is, it's hard as well. He's never lived a normal life meaning he's never really been treated as a normal person. You can elaborate on the story by saying that due to that, he's never found someone who can love him for the real person he is. As for that girl, she represents, well, people who've gone through depression and just hit rock bottom. She's the people who've given up on life. OK, that's all I gotta say. In closing: It's a beautiful video.

I really like the video because it shows a different side to the Backstreet Boys. Also you can the hurt in Kevin's eyes and Howie's face. When you see there face it makes you cry. Also everybody can relate to the song.

to me, smtmobl is about al of the hard times that the boys have been thru. i mean they're people too and there entitled to come across the same problems as the rest of us. Like in the video, brian was lonely during his heart surgery. kevin is lonely because he lost his dad to cancer at a young age. howie is lonely because he lost his sister last year to lupus. aj is lonely bacause he is not going out with amanda panda any more. and nick, well i dont know what nick is lonely about. i thought his would've had something to do with his brother. but if someone knows what the meaning of nicks part in the video is please email me.

peace out
