There's no point in arguing about it...it's never gonna get us anywhere. PA USA Date: Mon Sep 10 19:51:45 2001 Hi all, I think the 2001 VMA's, were once again a HUGE let down.....first off, I think Jamie Fox is an idiot, and what he had to say was not funny, no one should get amusement out of other people's pain or struggles (especially addictions), what AJ did we all know took strength and courage! Jamie's short 1 min. joke took nothing no effort whatsoever because he has no talent to begin with......Put him in the pile of VMA host rejects along with the Wayan's brothers.....I loved seeing BSB there live and in person (64 days congrats AJ!!!! All the guys looked really good, and healthy and happy), and I was suprised I thought maybe they'd be doing a satellite feed from Jersey but it shows how dedicated they are to take the time to travel to NYC and still make it to their concert....anyways that was the BEST part of the night and from there it went downhill.....I don't know why I subject myself to the VMA's year after year (but NO more!!!)....1999 was a great year after that bam the show has lost its appeal for me at least.....and in my opinion as far as I'm concerned, Backstreet WAS ROBBED of the Viewer's choice award..and I'm not just saying that cause I'm a fan I'm saying it cause I think its the truth notice the numbers, and how everyone else gained percentages while bsb stayed the same...but BSB fans, keep your heads high we all know who the real viewers choice is and the boys know we (their fans) are behind them always there is no doubt they know this, our boys don't need some cheap moonman to prove it especially since its an award coming from a station that calls themselves (MUSIC television)when we all know that its really jsut a channel devoted to lame tv programs the music except for TRL is all but nonexsistant! Even though Jamie Foxx made that unneccesary and rude comment, I still think he is funny person. AJ is a very strong person and I look up to him for his determination and patience with this whole post rehab stuff. He knows people are gonna make jokes about him, and it does hurt but you have to brush it off and move on! Overall, BSB looked great, the VMAs was awesome, and I'll still watch the Jamie Foxx show. Usually when a presenter comes out to host a show, they have that 5 minute thing before the show to get the crowd warmed up. Most of it was funny. What AJ went, and is going, thru is hard. Alcoholism is something that will follow him around for the rest of his life. You can't just get rid of it. He had big balls walking up there and saying "64 days sober" AFTER Jamie bombed on him like that. He also has excellent self-control. How many of you would've run out on stage and attacked him? Saying "long island ice tea" might've been funny, if it had made a bit of sense, other than the obvious alcohol joke. That was just a bad joke in the script. Coming out on stage with a bottle of champagne? That's a bit far. Why didn't he just chase him down and pour a margarita on him? Better yet, how bout some tequilla? Whatever he could've done equals about the same as what he did. The only good things about it were BSB presenting, Alicia Keys performance, Jay-Z's performance, and the Aaliyah tribute oh and Michael Jackson. It's odd how the two performances that were supposed to be the absolute best in the world (BS and N), were the worst?! Hey I got a question, I was kinda watching a rerun of Friday's TRL and they were showing Willa Ford on the red carpet...I thought I heard her say something about "..Carter won't even look at me, how rude". She's a hater anyway. She hates on Britney all the time. I could be wrong. By the way don't let Jaime Foxx get to you guys. That's the way comedians are, they pick on people.
