USA Date: Fri Feb 18 20:21:17 2000 In 1998 Brian had to undergo open heart surgery, Howie's sister died of lupus. they had to endure legal struggles and criticism, and their friend & producer Denniz Pop died, among other things. Yet in the middle of it all, they toured and put on thousands of great shows and continued to work on Millennium and sign millions of autographs no matter how tired they were. Now in 2000 Brian and Kevin get engaged, and people who claim to be fans call them rude and selfish and thoughtless? Get the hell away from this site, because you don't deserve them. First of all, most of us aren't even old enough to date any guy, let alone a bsb. And its not like we have much of a chance of meeting them ever, either. You don't know the guys and even if you did the majority of you are to young to date anyways. I seriously doubt that them getting married is going to affect the Backstreet Boys. I mean Kevin and Kristen have been together for 7, on again off again, years and it hasn't affected the group, so why would it start now that they're getting married? Both Kristen and Leighanne are in the "business" they know how things work and I'm also pretty sure they are aware of how much the guys love doing what they are doing, they're not going to make them stop. All these guys are doing is starting a family, it's not the end of the world! That's all I have to say on the engagements. Now on to Leighanne. Most of the fans like me, that were supporting them since the beginning, saw Nick growing bigger and bigger, AJ´s style changes, Howie´s Spanish improving, and now Brian and Kevin becoming two happily married men. We are all really privilege to be part of their growing like that. We also saw how they changed musically speaking... You can notice that from the first album and now the last one. Now, they write their own songs and cooperate in everything related to their work, while on the first one, they only cooperated with their beautiful voices. They all grown in so many different and wonderful ways, that I just can't explain. They improved their voices beautifully, their live presentations are everyday more and more fantastic, they little by little made themselves being known all around the world and now you say Backstreet Boys anywhere you go and everyone knows of whom you are talking about, and last year they made their dream true, they were known in their own home country. Don't you think that we are part of their lives? Of course we are! We made them what they are now, and you guys have to feel proud for that, they always thank us for our continuous support and we have to keep doing that so that we will be able to continue watching them growing more and more every day. Please, don't stop loving them cause they are getting married, you guys should know that they would get married one day from before hand and it finally happened!
