okay i have also posted on this topic earlier, yet i feel the need to once again respond to some of the opinions that "fans" have. that *ashleigh* girl or whatever her name is certainly does not even have the right to call herself a backstreet fan. unlike nysnc whose fan base is merely 9 and 10 year old girls the backstreet boys have found a way to make music which reaches people of all ages. yes i would love to see the backstreet boys at #1 on TRL each and everyday, their videos have at least a little meaning (well alot of significance if we are talking about SMTMOBL)yet i do realize their is life other than what TRL says. the backstreet boys are up for 5 grammy and nsync how many?? the backstreet boys sold how many records in the first week of millennium's existance, sold out how many concerts in a 10 minute time span?? the list could go on forever, but what's the need all the true fans know what i am talking about. so *ashleigh* go ahead and run to nsync, when you grow up the backstreet boys will be making still be music and lets hope nsync will have given up by then. though i am distressed by the number of responses bashing the boys for their announcements i must say that it's great to see how many fans understand that their is life outside of us, the fans. we know how they feel about us, god they dedicated a song to us!!! no matter what they do with their personal lives (well what's left of it) nothing can change what they've done for us. so they wont tour as much, but i doubt that they'd quit making music altogether, at least not now. with the success they are having right now it wouldnt make much sense. i would also like to say that i am glad they felt comfortable enough to share their joyous news with us, i mean it took courage to do that. for all the 9 and 10 year old girls who dont like them anymore and are going to no longer like them because of this decision, we (bsb fans) are better off without you, and i hope that one day you will find out about love and that without love you yourself will cease to exist. i wish rok and kev nothing but the best. leighanne and kristen you are two lucky ladies. and if any of you guys should get a chance to see this please understand that their are plenty of fans who support you!! having said that i will once again challenge TRUE bsb fans too support the guys, their women, and the rest of the guys in this time of change. any comments welcome!

At first I heard it a month ago from my friend, but I thought she just wanted to piss me off. Then I saw it on Feb 17 at 5:30am on MTV coming straight out of their mouths. At first I was annoyed. I had never heard that Kevin had a girlfriend, he always said he was single. Then he says he's engaged. Now that I think about it, I'm happy for them. If both Kevin and Brian are happy with their chicks, then let them have their happiness. Hey, it's not like we can ever get them.

The only sad or upsetting thing about this wonderful news is the reaction of the so-called Backstreet Boys "fans." I can't even believe that there are people out there that are that selfish and heartless! All you people REALLY need to get over this and move on with your lives. Brian is not yours, Kevin is not going to fall in love with you, and the Boys are not going to stop their lives just because a few selfish teenyboppers "don't think this is good for their careers" or "aren't going to listen to them anymore." If you are shallow enough to stop listening to the wonderful music that comes from these five amazingly talented young men, then you had no right to call yourself a fan in the first place. A real fan would be happy that these two great guys have both found people that make them happy. A real fan would realize that this news doesn't change anything. A real fan would know that this is about the music and nothing else. Believe it or not, there ARE real fans out there that are actually happy for Kevin and Brian. There ARE fans out there whose love for the Backstreet Boys is not affected by this news, in fact, it may have even grown stronger. That is the definition of a real fan and those are the kinds of fans that the Backstreet Boys need. So if you are going to stop listening to them because of this, it's your loss. Because, frankly, the Backstreet Boys don't need fans like you.

I can totally understand those of you who have been crying and stuff over these guys you are in love with. But after you have time to think things out, then a real fan woudl realize that if you really loved them, then you would want what is best for them, not for you. That is what REAL love is, putting them before you. As an dominantly Nsync girl, I do not know what I would do if my lance ever got married, butI could find it in my heart to be hapy for him. and about all this crap about BSB breaking up or something, whoever started this needs to get a life. My theory is that BSB can even write better lyrics now because they are expericening a new life and new ventures in life in which they can open up to through their music and attitudes. For the fans who are turning their back on BSB because of this, I do not think we should worry about them because they are not worthy of the title "BSB fan."

I am so happy for them!!! I hope their marriages are happy and forever lasting. People are really starting to make me mad though. All the people saying how much you hate their fiancees need to get a life! Be happy for them!!! If they want to get married, you have to let them...it's their lives and you can't tell them what to do. Their grown men and just like any other guy, they have the right to get married. Respect that. Their normal guys with a not-so-normal job. THEY CAN GET MARRIED!!!! Quit trash talking Leighanne and Kristin and get on with your lives! Besides, a real fan wouldn't do that....they'd be happy for Brian and Kevin.

I really and I do mean really used to love Kevin (I wanted to marry him). But I put an end to that obsession a few months ago for religious purposes. He's still my absolute favourite and incredibly good-looking in my eyes. I knew he was going to get married soon not only because he's the oldest but he really wants to start a family, so I'm happy for him and I hope his marriage last long.

ok, i just want to say that i totally respect them for this. and what the hell is a ring gonna change! they've both been w/ their g/f for a really long time and the next step is obvious. i think this makes the bsb seem much more real. and since when were we gonna marry one of them? if you're reading this and you comment to yourself that "i'm gonna marry him, just you wait," then i have one thing 2 say 2 u: GROW UP!!! *deep breath* ok so for all the non-delusional and very sane people left then i hope you can be happy for them and don't act so shallow and selfish. why should they sacrafice their lives so that some pre-teen girl, who hasn't even hit puberty yet, can 'fantasize' about him *rolls eyes* i'm so glad that Brian & Kevin have found this kind of happiness in their lives. k, that's it. if u have any comments, that's great. if their negative then kiss my ass :) buh bye.... yours truly

I just wanted to say that I am VERY happy for Brian and Kevin. I am glad they can be happy and found two lovely women to spend their lives with. As long as the guys are happy, then that makes me and I am sure, all of their fans happy. Kevin and Brian are two great guys who deserve to have their own private lives and be happy, just like any other person!

I think that they need to get over it. You knew that this would happen one day and now that is has they need to accept the fact that they are getting married. The girls who said that they love them they really don't and they need to get a life and do not need to worry about the guys. I am so happy for them and everyone else should be too.

I'm happy for Brian and Kevin. This shouldn't change the way I feel about the group. I't will also change other people's minds about how they think of the Backstreet Boys. I'm proud of them they should be able to go out and have a family. Your probally worried about how the business is going to go after this, well if the only tour for a small amount a year then they could send time with family and wives. No matter what happens to the group they still be number 1 in my book. I would like to meet you but I know that it will never happen. I proud of the news live a happy life together, and remember I'm your perfect fan.

Okay, okay at first when I heard the news on Brian and Kevin I thought it was all a another rumor flying around but when I found out the OFFICIAL word from my friend who saw it on MTV I believed it because she told me they said it themselves and for some reason it all felt like a dream. I was at first a bit depressed that Kevin and Brian are finally getting married. I knew that someday either two would marry because of their strong relationships that they had with their girlfriends. I didn't want to be jealous because I knew that the jealousy wouldn't take me anywhere. I thought that if they are happy of that decision then I'm happy too. I sheded a few tears (I know, sounds dumb but I'm very touchy) because I was sad about the news and my other tears were tears of joy. I think that they deserve the best in the future and if all the other get engadged I'll be happy as well for them! I congratulate Brian and Kevin and I wish them the best of luck!!! Love lotz and Keep the Backstreet Pride Alive!!!

all i gotta say is good job brian and kevin. yall just offically ruined the backstreet boys. they would have had a few more years maybe enough to break that boy band sucking and gone in a few years idea most people have of them but noooooooooooo they have to go off and get married. this ruins everything. we had pride for our single men. no one really liked them for they music cause lets face it..the music was all the same and pretty much sucked. ok ok. it did suck. but we loved them cause they are so hot and they are the closest most of us are ever gonna get to guys that look that good. every fan of theirs thought they had a chance of that bsb falling in love with them and now that image is ruined by them getting married. how could they do this?? i have no pride now. im ashamed i ever liked them. n sync here i come. yall are the unmarried young uns i long for. and to the bsb...im betting after reading this that yall are wishing that you never decided to get married. well too bad brian and kevin eat your hearts out but you guys just lost all of you fans and with that comes the end of backstreet boys. it was fun while it lasted but all good things must come to an end. too bad yall cause your own end eh? dumb stupid and retarded is about the only way to describe backdoor boys now

I think it is immature to say that getting engaged means the end of the Backstreet Boys.

When I first found out about the engagements, I'll admit that I was a little heartbroken. Brian's announcement was easier to swallow because I've known about it for nearly a month now, and I was just waiting for them to make it official. But Kevin.....well, Kev was a different story. You see, Kev is my favorite BSB and when I heard the news I'll admit that it did pull at my heartstrings. I kinda spent the rest of the day in a kind of funk, trying to sink it all in. Then I discovered something. I was looking through the fan galleries at Kevin pics and I came across a pic of him and Kristin. Now, in a lot of pics I've seen of him, his beautiful green eyes always seem so sad, so lonely. Not in this picture. In this one his eyes are so happy and he is so much at ease holding Kristin's hand. Looking at him so happy has made me realize that Kevin has found his soulmate, someone to love with and to live with and to be truly happy with. I see the exact same thing when I see a picture of Brian and Leighanne together. That is why, my fellow BSB fans, I am supporting the engagements of Brian and Kevin to Leighanne and Kristin. These two beautiful women (inside and out) are the ones who will make these two wonderful men extremely happy for the rest of their lives. Anybody that can do that certainly gets my seal of approval. Congratulations, you guys, and the best of luck to you from the bottom of my heart. God bless.
