I usually don't post my comments, but I decided that I would given the current topic. I am really happy for Kevin and Brian. They are normal guys, and are free to chose whom they want to marry. I know this may make some of their fans sad, but, realistically, you can't expect them not to carry on with their lives. Announcing their engagements on a network such as MTV makes me have total respect for the guys. Total Request Live has such a huge audience, and the BsB knew most of their fans would be watching. They could have not said anything about it and continued to let the rumors on the internet flow. Yet, the classy guys that they were, they told their fans the truth. We heard it from their own mouths. For that, we should be thanking them. They care about their fans so much that they want us to know what is going on in their personal lives--something that we do not necessarily have the right to know about. With the recent engagements, I love and respect the Backstreet Boys even more. I hope the changes in their love lives improve the group, and I feel that it will. The Backstreet Boys have given me so much happiness, I feel that they deserve some happiness of their own. Personally, I don't feel we fans have anything to worry about. We love the Backstreet Boys for their music and the great guys that they are. They are going to be around for a long time, and we, as fans, are coming along for the ride! Don't kid yourself. You may have first fallen "in love" with them when you saw em dancing in the rain in their pajamas (quit playin' games) three years ago, but alot has changed since then. You've been listening to all those songs and now for the rest of your life, anytime you hear "everybody" you will remember it as a part of your history. You'd know the sound of their voices anytime, anyplace, and when the first single from the new cd hits the radio, you're going to hear it and get goosebumps. Their voices are ingrained in you forever, and they aren't going to lose their hold over you. And in fact. the whole WORLD's perception of the Boys has changed since the dancin' shirtless in the rain video. They *actually* get some (gasp) respect now. even people who joke about BSB are so used to having them around they wouldn't know what to do without them. it would be like waking up and not hearing birds sing anymore- it would just be WEIRD. they're america's Boys, love 'em or hate 'em, and they've been around long enough and made enough of an impact now that they can stay popular for as long as they want to. Yet in the middle of it all, they toured and put on thousands of great shows and continued to work on Millennium and sign millions of autographs no matter how tired they were. Now in 2000 Brian and Kevin get engaged, and people who claim to be fans call them rude and selfish and thoughtless? Get the hell away from this site, because you don't deserve them. They deserve to be happy. Heck they are people just like you and me except they are in the music business doing something they love.
