First off, I -am- happy for Kevin. He's at a time in his life when he needs to get married. Kristin is a very beautiful girl, and I hope they're happy. Brian, on the other hand, I don't know how to feel about. The first time I saw a picture of LeighAnne, I didn't like her. I know that's superficial, but she's super skinny, blond, pretty, and large busted - a perfect example of the cliche superstar girlfriend. I don't know a thing about LeighAnne (they keep it all so hush hush) so I imagine her as a total flake. I wish they would come out and tell us a bit more about their fiances. Maybe then, we'd all see how wonderful she was, but then again it might go the other way... I'm also afraid about the future of the group. If Kevin and Brian have kids (which usually is the next step after marriage) they're not going to want to tour anymore, they'll want to be home with their lil Brians and Kevins. I used to never see an end to the Backstreet Boys. Now my vision is somewhat tainted. It all scares me... it's too much.

I'm very happy for them both. I can't say that I like who Brian is marrying for personal reasons, but nonetheless, I'm still happy for them. I am very upset with some of the negative comments about the boys spawned from the announcement of the engagements. On my local radio station, two girls called in and said "Well don't expect me to go out and buy their new album anymore!" Well excuse them for having lives. It's absolutely ridiculous! If you are anything like those girls, you cannot consider yourself a REAL Backstreet Boys fan. A REAL Backstreet Boys fan accepts them and what they do, in their entertainment lives and personal lives. A REAL fan wouldn't stop buying their CD's and other merchandise and just plain stop liking them, because they've found happiness with another woman. I'm sorry, but get a life!

ok everyone calling me a tennybopper needs to stop that right now. you guys are just in denial you like them for their looks and the only reason yall are staying fans is the same reason i might still like the the slighest bit and let me reassure you its very very litte is that maybe they will get divorced and marry me. other wise i hope they lose all thier fans but i dont gotta hope for that cause its gonna happen cause they are stupid enough to get married. guess not going to high school was a pretty dumb idea after all. theya re gonna need to know how to count chagne at their next job at mcdonalds if they even get one that good. if i was ronald i wouldnt hire them. all i gotta say is good job brian and kevin. yall just offically ruined the backstreet boys. they would have had a few more years maybe enough to break that boy band sucking and gone in a few years idea most people have of them but noooooooooooo they have to go off and get married. this ruins everything. we had pride for our single men. no one really liked them for they music cause lets face it..the music was all the same and pretty much sucked. ok ok. it did suck. but we loved them cause they are so hot and they are the closest most of us are ever gonna get to guys that look that good. every fan of theirs thought they had a chance of that bsb falling in love with them and now that image is ruined by them getting married. how could they do this?? i have no pride now. im ashamed i ever liked them. n sync here i come. yall are the unmarried young uns i long for. and to the bsb...im betting after reading this that yall are wishing that you never decided to get married. well too bad brian and kevin eat your hearts out but you guys just lost all of you fans and with that comes the end of backstreet boys. it was fun while it lasted but all good things must come to an end. too bad yall cause your own end eh? dumb stupid and retarded is about the only way to describe backdoor boys now. and i keep adding this entrty over and over cause i know there has got to be some ppl out there who agree with me. bsb is over and yall know it. someone needs to slap brian and kevin for what they did. too bad i cant e the one to slap them though. oh well gotta love n sync

The boys have been through so much, with the deaths and Brians heart condition, but they all still managed to continue doing what they knew US fans loved, no matter how heart broken they were - they never showed it, they kept on touring and doing interviews cuz they knew thats what WE wanted. So all the boys want is to keep us happy. So why are we so quick to be upset when they FINALLY do something for themselves.

I am soo happy for Brian and Kevin, they've

found people that love them for them, unlike many of us fans who really just know the Backstreet boy Kevin and Brian. Just remember the boys love us anyways.

So to Kevin and Brian - Good Luck Fellas! I wish you and your fiances all the best! :)

Hey guys! I just want to tell you all how happy I am for them! On Wednesday, when I heard the news on TRL, I cried for the rest of the night, thinking that this is so bad, the group is going to break up, Kevin and Brian will leave, the other guys will be mad, and the whole thing will be messed up. But since then, I figured, HEY YOU KNOW, THIS COULD BE A GOOD THING! Well, I am very happy for them, and I am glad that Kev and Bri are honest to tell their fans something like that, and not lie, because as a fan, I want the Boys to be happy, honest, and enjoy what they are doing! If you guys are reading right now, I wish you the best of luck and always remember how much us fans love you to death! Especially me!

Hi my name is amanda

The first thing I want to say is that I am happy for both kevin and brian.

If you are a true backstreet boy fan it shouldn t matter if they are married or not.

Another thing is no and let me reapet myself no backstreet fan has any control over the backstreet boys love life.

If you are one of those fans that are going to leave the backstreet boys beacuse they are getting married,

Then go right ahead beacuse if you were a real bsb fan it would not matter to you.

I would also like to say that making negative comments to there girlfriends is not going to change anything.

You should be happy for them they actual found someone that really likes them for them.

love

I think it's great that Kevin and Brian found women that they feel strongly enough towards that they want to spend the rest of their lives with them. I don't think anything will be different with the Backstreet Boys, they all have a special place in their hearts for their fans, and they wrote Larger Than Life to remind us of that. Just because they will be married soon, doesn't mean we can't love them just the same! there are lots of stars that are married, and they still have fans that experess their love for them. I think we should all be happy for them, and if you're not a fan anymore because of this, then I guess u weren't a true fan in the first place. They need to know that their fans support them in their decisions and stick behind them in whatever they decide to do next! I wish them all the best of luck!

I also want to wish Brian a very happy 25th birthday tomorrow! May it be your best one yet!!!

OMG!!! Many GOOD Wishes for Brian and Kevin!!!

Gracias por todo y el mejor en sus futuros!!!

Now about these fans "who are fair weather".....

this Ashleigh chick that keeps reposting every 5 seconds on how Backstreet just destroyed their fan base is only wanting attention. Guess no one is giving her that. If you like write her but she has nothing better to do on a Saturday then to repost her message of disgust. The great thing is ABOUT TIME SOME OF THESE BAD SEED FANS LEFT.

Asleigh thanks for leaving did not want you around anyways.

In 1998 Brian had to undergo open heart surgery, Howie's sister died of lupus. they had to endure legal

struggles and criticism, and their friend & producer Denniz Pop died, among other things. Yet in the middle

of it all, they toured and put on thousands of great shows and continued to work on Millennium and sign millions

of autographs no matter how tired they were. Now in 2000 Brian and Kevin get engaged, and people who

claim to be fans call them rude and selfish and thoughtless? Say that the guys are "breaking their hearts"?

Get the hell away from this site, because you don't

deserve them. And really, anyone who would go to 'NSync over this will just be the downfall of 'NSync- it will

add to the fickleness of their fanbase, and strengthen the Boys' fanbase and prove to critics that they can

rely on their music. so it is all for

the good of the Boys.

I recently heard the news on Entertainment Tonight. I was shocked but not surprised. I wish Brian and Leighanne, and Kevin and Kristin all the best. I'll admit I was a little jealous, even though kevin and brian are not my faverite BSB's anyway. I hope they have a great wedding. They deserve some happiness in their lives, despite some of the problems that has plagued them over the years. To Leighann and Kristin, please take good care of " our boys " and again all the best to both of you.

Hey everyone, What i think about Kevin and Brian getting married; i don't think it's the perfect time at all. If they both get married now their career will go down the drain!!!! No one will like them anymore. If they want to get married they should keep it to themselves, b/c they said they will never break our hearts!!!!!!! Brian broke my heart!!!!!

you were never a true bsb fan.I know i am a true bsb fan, because i am truly happy with them getting married, and the

same thing goes to the rest of the bsb fans that are happy for them. As long as they keep making fantastic music for us,

Congratulations Brian and Kevin. YOU both deserve the best and may God bless you and your families. :O) Congrat's

To all those fans who are still upset it is your lose if you want to feel this way. Not all of us are upset and are happy for them. If fans do leave hey there is more for the rest of us and maybe then the critics won't call the fans *teens*.

To be honest my group of friends were happy for them and it was about time. The deserve to be happy and I am a teen who will listen to them no matter what. :O)

Thanks for listening. this was on the backboard and i think it says it all bsb will be around no matter what the fans who turn on them say. :O)

Peace!!

The Backstreet Boys and why we like them that way

02/17/00

I feel safe in saying there is no bigger fan of the Backstreet Boys than I. I can't imagine anyone being more excited to see them in person, even if it is in a place as big as the Greensboro Coliseum.

I am Julia Greer, a student at Kiser Middle School. I love the Backstreet Boys. But I am not alone in my love for the hottest band in music today. The group will appear Sunday at the Coliseum, and I am not surprised the show

took only 78 minutes to sell out. Everyone wants to see them perform. For me it will be my third concert and I can't wait!

Everyone knows about the Backstreet Boys - they have been together for at least six years. They have toured in the United States and Europe and have become international stars. They have recently won many awards, proving their popularity and abilities. But why do kids from 3 to 33 love them? What draws us to them? Is it luck or hard work that has brought them fame and fortune? Or is it cute faces and angelic voices? I would like to tell you why I love them and why my friends do.

First, I like the Backstreet Boys because they are the best group in the music world. Their songs have such a great beat that you can't help but dance along. And, hey, you can understand the lyrics so you can sing along, too.

It does not hurt that they are great to look at even when they are standing still. My room is plastered with posters, pictures and clippings about the group. Following the Backstreet Boys is like a hobby for my friends and me.

"The Backstreet Boys are a group that comes along once in a lifetime," says my friend Carrie Pratt of Climax. "No matter what kind of music you listen to, there is one Backstreet Boys' song that you like. That proves they have a sound

that nobody can compete with."

Carrie's favorite Backstreet Boy is Brian, but my best friend, Jenna Baker, says, "I think A.J. is the hottest Backstreet Boy of

all because he sings wonderfully and he is very cute." It is good that there are five Backstreet boys so we don't all have to have the same favorite. Even my mom likes Kevin because he, at 29, is not so "obnoxiously young."

Let's face it: Getting your parents to like a group you like is essential if they are going to let you listen to the group's music. Nobody's mom is going to drive around listening to what they think is "racket." My mom actually likes the

Backstreet Boys' music. I have come home from school and caught her cleaning away to "Millennium." She says, "Cute, clean-cut

guys singing perky songs - what's not to like?"

I think my mom and her friends don't mind how they look, either. They think the older Boys are "hotties" like Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias.

My dad likes them too, and I'm not ashamed to have him read the lyrics.

"The Backstreet Boys I can trust," he says. "Julie can buy their CDs, listen to them and attend a concert, and I don't have to worry about explicit lyrics or cursing."

I wouldn't be going to the concert if my parents didn't approve. I pay for my own tickets, but they would not allow me to spend my own money on things they don't approve of.

I have listened to their music for three years after being a fan of Hanson. Many of my friends followed Hanson as they now follow the Backstreet Boys. But Hanson didn't mature with us. They still look like little boys to us now. Their

music lacked variety. They didn't sing about relationships and growing older.

While the Backstreet Boys are the hottest boy band out there today they are not the only one. N-Sync, LFO, and 98 Degrees are modeled after Lou Pearlman's creation. Pearlman put the Backstreet Boys on the map and had great success.

He followed the formula with N-Sync and they, too, have been a success. But the difference between the Backstreet Boys and these other

boy bands for me is that they are individually very talented and that talent makes for a better performance. Their choreography on stage and in their videos is unmatched. They work very hard to put on a good show.

The Backstreet Boys are also nice guys. They feel it is important to share their success, so they give money from concerts to

charities and organizations such as the American Cancer Society and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. They also have tickets auctioned at Tickets.com where all the proceeds go to their foundation. I bought tickets there for their

appearance in Charlotte tonight.

I like being able to follow the Backstreet Boys on the Internet. The best site is the official www.backstreetboys.com. There

are sites from fans all around the world and just in the past week a new site about the Backstreet Boys comics has started at www.backstreetproject.com.

Like a lot of kids, I am eagerly awaiting this Sunday's concert. We listen to the Backstreet Boys' CDs all of the time, but seeing and hearing them in person is the best. I saw them in September when they started this tour in

Charlotte and can hardly wait for them to come to my hometown. They put on a very good show - lots of special effects and costume changes make it very exciting.

So my friends and I will be there Sunday when the Boys come to our hometown. I did not get the best seats but I'm in the building and will enjoy every minute of Concert No. 3. It is going to be great!

Julia Greer is a sixth-grader at Kiser Middle School.
