Hey everyone the first thing i want to say is that i am very happy for both of them.

The first thing i need to say is all of you bsb fans that are threating to leave the bsb go right ahead . The bsb needs fans that are going to stick with

them no matter what. Another thing is no backstreet fan has any say in there love lifes . We are only fans we shouldn t tell them what is best for them ,

Most of you out there dont even know them. Also making negative comments to there girlfriends is not going to change anything

If the bsb are happy we should be happy for them . They actual found someone who likes them for them.

I also think they are smart enough to know if thease girls are right for them.

They don t need us telling them what to do.

love

You know, it's pretty sad that some girls think Brian and Kevin are being selfish and "breaking their hearts"

to get engaged. Do you remember when Brian had to have open heart surgery and started touring again too soon?

Howie's sister died of Lupus, and Denniz Pop died of cancer. Plus all that other crap they had to take, like not being

taken seriously, and hving to work hard and sign sooooooo many autographs, and work on new album. I bet

that's a lot of fun to do when you just had your chest cut open and one of your family members died a slow painful

death! So now they think they can trust the fans to support them in marrying the loves of their lives and those

girls call them rude and selfish.

You need to re-think where you're coming from, to those people. Think about all they went through. You can't even

fathom having no privacy and touring all the time, etc. right after major surgery or a death in the family, plus

being in the middle of legal problems. So if you're hurt now, well I'm sorry. But if it does hurt you, it is unfair

to accuse THEM of being selfish. You can say they wouldn't be here if it weren't for the fans, and that is true,

but what you're doing as a fan is ACCEPTING THEIR HARD WORK. you're enjoying the fruits of their labor,

basically. They are the ones working for it. And i'm not trying to be all like "pity the poor bsb". They get rewards

for their work, yeah, but WE get rewards for their work too and we're not working for it, that's all i'm trying

to say. At least if this hurts your feelings you can go to your room and cry, instead of go put on a happy show

for the people who are criticizing you. At least when you meet a man you love and get married, you won't have to know

the people who claimed to love you are tearing you apart in message boards online.

I found out Thursday and I felt like someone had punched me in the stomach. I didn't believe it at first, but slowly I got to see that it was true. I wanted to go home and cry but when I finally did get home, the tears wouldn't come. And I wanted to know why? I was like Kevvy's getting married! I should be so incredibly sad! And maybe even angry? But then I realized I couldnt cry because I was too happy for them.

I know it sounds cheesy. But its true. I'm happy that they've finally found someone, cos I totally believe in love and caring, and it just made the BSB seem all the more real to me and more human. Before they were just BSB, awesome music and hot guys, now everyone knows they're human.

And the people saying you're so mad at them and you're going to NSuck, get a life and get OVER yourself. How would you feel if you were in love and someone told you YOU couldnt get married?!? You'd tell them to go screw themselves wouldnt you?

Stop being so damn selfish and think about them. How much stuff have they done for the world and all their fans? How much do they love us? How much will they always love us? A LOT, is the least of that answer. Then when they need someone else to love, we turn on them? How retarded and twisted is that? They've always been there for us, now can't we be there for them?

You people with your dreams, I had them too, you can still have them, but you always KNEW they werent real and they'd NEVER be real. There is nothing wrong with them all of a sudden.

Guys I love you, I will always love you no matter if you're all married or all divorced. Kevin, Brian, if you're reading this, please be happy with your wives, and please only pay atttention to the fans that love you.

I am 12 years old. Hard to believe someone that young could think so deep.

I think it is great that Brian and Kevin are getting married. LeighAnne seems really cool and I don't know anything about Kevin's girl. But I don't understand why fans are upset. Aren't we supposed to love them for the music? I am a huge Nick fan and if it was him that was getting married, I would be crushed and then I would get over it. He would still be making wonderful music even though he was married. Andanother thing, if Brian or Kevin were just normal people with normal lives, no one would even think twice about them getting married. If any of the boys happen to see this one day, I wish you all the best with your career and lives.

Hi! We just wanted to say that we're glad about the news, and also we are all big Leighanne fans.

Don't listen to what the jealous people say, because you are really great Leighanne. Cathy met her

and she was the nicest, most genuine and down-to-earth person. A woman can be thin, blonde, busty,

and beautiful AND still be genuinely nice and intelligent! If you don't think so,

you are being sexist. It's unfair to think you have to be one or the other.

Leighanne is all that and a bag of chips, and Brian shouldn't have anything less.

hey I have already wrote one in this but to make it SO clear what my opinion is I'll write it over again! K? All yall

people that are JEALOUS of them being HAPPY you guys are stupid! I mean wake up! I may be 15 but I am mature

enough to let guys that are in the "business" live THEIR *hint word* life! You guys are NOT their mothers or even

parents of them! GROW UP! Plus that what the HECK do you expect that the BSB will do for you guys? They work

their (_(_)s off 24/7 just to SATISFY yall and perform and sing their hearts out! NOW the least you supposedly

called "true" fans would give them a break and let them be HAPPY! Give them their privicy! Enough of you guys

trespass and but into their business! Grow UP! Yeah sure there is NOTHING wrong w/ you guys being sad and stuff

but for you guys to JUDGE their g/fs and all! What would you think if you were Brian's or Kevin's fiancee and hear

all this stuff and to be dissed like cr*p! HUH? GROW UP that's all I got to say! They need to live their own life

and you need to get your bubble burst! So if any of you guys want to e-mail me and agrue about this then go right on

ahead b/c I know that I will win and you guys won't! TRUST ME!

Congratulations Kevin and Kristen, and Brian and Leighanne!

I just want to say that I was happy when I heard the news. And I can understand how some fans would be a little

bit sad or upset, but I don't think anyone will really stop listening to or loving the group because of it. At least

it will shut the critics up. A sucessful group with two married guys can't be accused of only getting fans because

they're good-looking single guys, look at it that way.

Love you guys! You will RULE the Grammys! :-)

First off, I -am- happy for Kevin. He's at a time in his life when he needs to get married. Kristin is a very beautiful girl, and I hope they're happy. Brian, on the other hand, I don't know how to feel about. The first time I saw a picture of LeighAnne, I didn't like her. I know that's superficial, but she's super skinny, blond, pretty, and large busted - a perfect example of the cliche superstar girlfriend. I don't know a thing about LeighAnne (they keep it all so hush hush) so I imagine her as a total flake. I wish they would come out and tell us a bit more about their fiances. Maybe then, we'd all see how wonderful she was, but then again it might go the other way... I'm also afraid about the future of the group. If Kevin and Brian have kids (which usually is the next step after marriage) they're not going to want to tour anymore, they'll want to be home with their lil Brians and Kevins. I used to never see an end to the Backstreet Boys. Now my vision is somewhat tainted. It all scares me... it's too much.

to ashleigh:

"stupid enough to get married?" actually, it's the best thing they could do right now, so

you are coming off as very ignorant. if you think that getting married will destroy the group, you must associate

only with shallow teenyboppers idiots and nincompoops. personally, i'm getting the feeling that you're a nysnc fan

who is upset and frightened that this will prove the Boys' appeal is based on their music, as opposed to 'NSync who is based

on image and marketing. I can have respect for other people's opinions, but no matter what you post, no one will

consider it valid unti you learn to write like someone over six years old, or go get spell-check.

To all those fans who are still upset it is your lose if you want to feel this way. Not all of us are upset and are happy for them.

If fans do leave hey there is more for the rest of us and maybe then the critics won't call the fans *teens*.

To be honest my group of friends were happy for them and it was about time. The deserve to be happy and I am a teen who will

listen to them no matter what. :O)

Thanks for listening. this was on the backboard and i think it says it all bsb will be around no matter what the fans who turn on

them say. :O)

Peace!!

The Backstreet Boys and why we like them that way

02/17/00

I feel safe in saying there is no bigger fan of the Backstreet Boys than I. I can't imagine anyone being more excited to see them

in person, even if it is in a place as big as the Greensboro Coliseum.

I am Julia Greer, a student at Kiser Middle School. I love the Backstreet Boys. But I am not alone in my love for the hottest band

in music today. The group will appear Sunday at the Coliseum, and I am not surprised the show

took only 78 minutes to sell out. Everyone wants to see them perform. For me it will be my third concert and I can't wait!

Everyone knows about the Backstreet Boys - they have been together for at least six years. They have toured in the United States

and Europe and have become international stars. They have recently won many awards, proving their popularity and abilities. But

why do kids from 3 to 33 love them? What draws us to them? Is it luck or hard work that has brought them fame and fortune? Or

is it cute faces and angelic voices? I would like to tell you why I love them and why my friends do.

First, I like the Backstreet Boys because they are the best group in the music world. Their songs have such a great beat that you

can't help but dance along. And, hey, you can understand the lyrics so you can sing along, too.

It does not hurt that they are great to look at even when they are standing still. My room is plastered with posters, pictures and

clippings about the group. Following the Backstreet Boys is like a hobby for my friends and me.

"The Backstreet Boys are a group that comes along once in a lifetime," says my friend Carrie Pratt of Climax. "No matter what

kind of music you listen to, there is one Backstreet Boys' song that you like. That proves they have a sound

that nobody can compete with."

Carrie's favorite Backstreet Boy is Brian, but my best friend, Jenna Baker, says, "I think A.J. is the hottest Backstreet Boy of

all because he sings wonderfully and he is very cute." It is good that there are five Backstreet boys so we don't all have to have

the same favorite. Even my mom likes Kevin because he, at 29, is not so "obnoxiously young."

Let's face it: Getting your parents to like a group you like is essential if they are going to let you listen to the group's music.

Nobody's mom is going to drive around listening to what they think is "racket." My mom actually likes the

Backstreet Boys' music. I have come home from school and caught her cleaning away to "Millennium." She says, "Cute, clean-cut

guys singing perky songs - what's not to like?"

I think my mom and her friends don't mind how they look, either. They think the older Boys are "hotties" like Ricky Martin and

Enrique Iglesias.

My dad likes them too, and I'm not ashamed to have him read the lyrics.

"The Backstreet Boys I can trust," he says. "Julie can buy their CDs, listen to them and attend a concert, and I don't have to

worry about explicit lyrics or cursing."

I wouldn't be going to the concert if my parents didn't approve. I pay for my own tickets, but they would not allow me to spend

my own money on things they don't approve of.

I have listened to their music for three years after being a fan of Hanson. Many of my friends followed Hanson as they now

follow the Backstreet Boys. But Hanson didn't mature with us. They still look like little boys to us now. Their

music lacked variety. They didn't sing about relationships and growing older.

While the Backstreet Boys are the hottest boy band out there today they are not the only one. N-Sync, LFO, and 98 Degrees are

modeled after Lou Pearlman's creation. Pearlman put the Backstreet Boys on the map and had great success.

He followed the formula with N-Sync and they, too, have been a success. But the difference between the Backstreet Boys and

these other

boy bands for me is that they are individually very talented and that talent makes for a better performance. Their choreography on

stage and in their videos is unmatched. They work very hard to put on a good show.

The Backstreet Boys are also nice guys. They feel it is important to share their success, so they give money from concerts to

charities and organizations such as the American Cancer Society and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. They also have tickets

auctioned at Tickets.com where all the proceeds go to their foundation. I bought tickets there for their

appearance in Charlotte tonight.

I like being able to follow the Backstreet Boys on the Internet. The best site is the official www.backstreetboys.com. There

are sites from fans all around the world and just in the past week a new site about the Backstreet Boys comics has started at

www.backstreetproject.com.

Like a lot of kids, I am eagerly awaiting this Sunday's concert. We listen to the Backstreet Boys' CDs all of the time, but seeing

and hearing them in person is the best. I saw them in September when they started this tour in

Charlotte and can hardly wait for them to come to my hometown. They put on a very good show - lots of special effects and

costume changes make it very exciting.

So my friends and I will be there Sunday when the Boys come to our hometown. I did not get the best seats but I'm in the

building and will enjoy every minute of Concert No. 3. It is going to be great!

Julia Greer is a sixth-grader at Kiser Middle School.
