For me personally I am happy for them. It's about time for Kevin b/c he IS kinda getting up there. But I was a little suprised that he is engaged. I guess I wasn't really expecting it. But Brian's wasn't a shock at all. I knew it was a matter of days before him and Leighanne went for it. But its cool. They deserve to be happy AND they deserve to get respect from the FANS on their decisions also. After all...it's not their job to keep US happy by ignoring their personal lives. It's our job as fans to support them...even when they get engaged. Come on..we all knew it had to happen sometime. Just deal with it! I know its sad..but when i was at the concert...I SWEAR that brian and kev had this "glow" and they both looked so happy...why is that so bad to some of you? well that's what i gotta say. I'll admit Brian is my favorite BSB. My friend told me and I was like 'what' and I'll tell you, I was really upset! Then like after 15 minutes of calming myself down, I realized that this a good thing. I always knew Brian would be the first to get married. I wish him all the luck in marriage! I always knew that he would never fall for me. I'm not his kind of girl.Besides, I'm too young. A little of the subject.... Happy Birthday Brok!.... So no big loss. From what I've heard of Leighanne she seems really nice. I've seen pictures and she is really pretty. I've seen them together in videos and things and they seem really happy. And if it dosn't work out, well than too bad. As for Kevin and Kristin, I wish them all the luck too. Kevin said he knew Krisitin for along time. 7+ years. That's a pretty long time. The day he said that he knew her for 7+ years, I was like 'then why don't you marry her?' Well that's happening now.Once again good luck you guys! The only thing that I'm a SLIGHTLY worried about, is the group's future. There are alot of immature 'fans' out there who'll abandon the guys. Or Brian and Kevin might decide that they want private lives and decide to leave the group. One reader said "this will be a test of the fans loyalty." After reading, the reviews, my worries have not been ceased, but reduced. Next, I'm sorta surprised at the reactions. I mean this is sad. I've read a few reviews and I was like 'Is this for real?' There was this one girl who thought they were being really selfish! Maybe it's just me(although from the number of positive reviews... I doubt it.), but reviews like that seem childish and mean. They have lives too! And believe it or not, it does not revolve around you! In a few years you'll stop liking BSB this much and grow up. You'll have your own boyfriends. So what were the guys supposed to do? Stay single for their fans? So what would happen to them if they stayed single and the band broke up? They would have given up the love of two women for fans. Now let's think. Don't you think you're being a little selfish here? If you're a true fan you'll get over this, be happy for them, and move on with your life! Why like them if it isn't for their music? Would you really like them if they weren't who they are? Let me quote one of the better reviews,"this will seperate the teenyboppers from the real fans!" And that is exactly what is happening. I jusst hope that there are very few teenyboppers. I beggining to see where the whole teenybopper concept came from. Maybe the movie 2ge+her has an ounce of truth in it. To the fans being mature about this, be proud of yourselves. Your parents taught you well. You actually have lives. And you're mature enought to handle this with dignity. These are the true fans! I believe that there are very few teenybopper fans of backstreet. They are way too good to be liked by no one else! I know this is been kinda of long. On the whole, I'm proud of BSB fans. Very few negative comments. Have there really been suicides? Imagine how the guys feel about this. They must feel devestated and responsible. I'm NOT trying to blame them. They deserve happiness. All I'm saying is that it's sad that people would consider taking their own lives. I'm not trying to get anyone mad at me. To the teenyboppers: stop dissin' the girls! Get a life! Stop obsessing over the guys. You're setting yourself up for a broken heart! I'm just trying to warn you guys. See things for the girls' and the guys'eyes. Imagine having the guy you love propsing and you accepting. Then people dissin' you for it. It hurt dosen't it? They're a bunch of down to earth guys doing what they like. Their music dosen't sound at all like the BSB's. If you're trying to find that copies the BSB it should be 98 degrees. They are being realistic about the whole situation and are truly happy that 2 of the guys have found their true soulmates. That is not an easy task for the average person, much less someone who is in the limelight all of the time. I admire them for publicly announcing it because it shows their respect for their fans who will stick with them for their talents and to those who only liked them because they thought they had a chance with them, come on now, get real. Do not put down the girlfriends! I have met Leighanne and Brian and they are an absolute adorable couple. You can see the love and admiration in their faces when they speak of one another. When I first found out the news on TRL I cried for several hours. It was really hard for me. I'm still very upset and cringe every time I hear the word "Brian" or "Kevin" and the word "engaged" in the same sentence. I'm upset with all "the fans" out there that call the fans like me, who are very upset over the enagagement, immature. I am not immature. I honestly in my heart love both Brian and Kevin.
