Okay for the record, If you would of read my very first entry, I did not say the backstreet boys are going to break up and that this will be their last album. It was only my opinion. The boys have been through so much not only in their personal lives with love and loss, but they also have been stabbed in the back by both Lou Pearlman with the creation of NSYNC and their record label Jive with the signing of NSYNC. They have also managed to thwart and survive the harsh criticisms that surround them because they are a "boy band." We all know they are extraordinarily talented (not to mention sexy) and I know this new album will reflect that. This album will once again show how they are far superior to NSYNC or any other group created in their wake and image. They have survived "through it all" and I look forward to the future with BSB. OK, here's something that might make everyone feel a lot better about the whole 1st week sales thing. It's true that No Strings Attached sold more than twice as many copies than Millennium in the first week, and spent 8 consecutive weeks at #1, while Millennium had 5. (I'm getting to the good part, be patient.)On it's ninth week No Strings Attached was bumped back to #4, and #5 for the tenth week. After being #2 behind Limp Bizkit's Significant Other for 3 weeks, (Here comes the good part) Millenium was back at #1 for it's 9th and 10th weeks. Because of Woodstock Significant other moves back to #1, pushing Millennium to #2 on its 11th week. However Millennium comes back again to claim the #1 spot for weeks 12-14. That's a total of ten weeks at #1, two more than 'NSync's album. And if we continue...it was #3 weeks 15 and 16. It was #2 weeks 17-19. And finally it was #5 on week 20. So it took 20 weeks for Millennium to finally get as low as 5 on the charts, and with No Strings Attached it only took 10. There, now doesn't that make people feel better. I know a lot of you guys are so set on this album to break 'NSync's record, and while that is possible...please don't get your hopes up. If Britney Spears' album sold more copies than Millennium(1st week) and she's behind BSB in popularity, then that shows that BSB next album will definitely sell more than Millennium did in the first week. That is an accomplishment, even if it doesn't sell as much as No Strings Attached. And besides does it really matter anyway? Is the sales what's really important? If it is, then it should be the album total sales that counts, not just the sales in the first week.
