What do you think about the outcome of the 2000 Grammy Awards?

BSB had quite an awsome year and they got screwed over. now i grew up listening to santana cause my parents liked him and i am happy that he won a few, but i am mad that he beat out BSB. they deserved at least something. as for the preformance, it was so awsome. people have been telling me that nick overdid his part, but i thought it added something new to SMTM even though it is already an awsome song. i loved it. and it was cool how they did a tribute to other "boy bands". as for jennifer lopez's oufit, no comment. Before I even sat down to watch it I knew they weren't going to win any of the awards. The winners aren't based on record sales for the Grammys. That's what stopped BSB from winning. Voters are people at major corporations and they vote towards the older generation. They don't want to vote for a pop band like BSB even though they were the most popular group and have the most talent. People had to make Santana look good- making him think that everyone thought he actually deserved the awards. When Sting beat BSB- you know the whole show was rigged. And when he beat Ricky Martin too- proves it's even more rigged then we all thought. I checked Billboard to see where Sting was on the charts- #82. Does that actually deserve an award? I think not. The i was really pissed that they didn't win n e thing!! and that STUUUUUUUPID santana took everything when 1 person takes all those awards like that it ruins the fun of the show. and wut realy realy pissed me off was when Lauren Hill opened the envolope and acted suprised like it wasn't Santana,for a sec there i thought it would be the BSB! but there is always next year. and for the guys who say that the BSB are gay and stuff like that. Dont get all mad at this. This is coming from a fan. Santana deserved the awards. He is very talented and a very smart man. He used Rob Thomas to get the younger generation to listen to him. For that he deserved it. Now about the performance. It was the pits! They have NEVER EVER sounded that TERRIBLE! I mean, thats a nice way of putting it. I must say I was disappointed in them. What was with that capella stuff? The original singers were SO much better. The Backstreet Boys just made that bad. Its like Madonna's remake of American Pie. There is nothing to describe THAT. And on Show Me the Meaning, c'mon you can tell AJs a smoker. He lost that funk in his voice. Howie didnt hit the right notes hes known for. Brian was just bad. He was out-of-tune. Kevin actually sounded just okay. I mean he has a wonderful voice but I think he didnt put his heart into it this time. Now Nick, poor poor Nick, he's grown up. His voice doenst have that kiddy side anymore. Oh and AJ's going solo?! DANG! Hes gonna fall on his face. Now on their looks... Nick looked GREAT!! Howie lookd GOOD! Kevin looked NICE!! AJ looked Sloppy! And well that leaves Brian... he looked like a jerk. And in my opinion I think he is. KEVIN announced BOTH engagements and Brian didnt even seem happy about it. But I can put that on another page. Now I know you people may get mad at this but you all know deep in your hearts what I have said here is all very true. So very true. They showed all those who choose to label them that they really have incredible voices. So Santana won. Oh well, he's old. He hasn't got that many more years, but the Boys are still better then him, I don't care a s*it about his guitar. I got his cd and it isn't all that. Neither is TLC's. But I really respect Sting, I think he's an awesome musician and has a great voice. But the BSB should have won, and why do they hovel over Christina Aguilera so much? Sarah Machlachlan is the best, and she doesn't need to strip to show that. I say, screw the Grammies. I love the Backstreet Boys and I don't need a little statue to tell me they are the best.
