Well of corse i was disappointed that the Backstreet Boys didn't win an award at the 2000 Grammy's. But they really did win an award, and they know it. They got the honor to sing with one of the greatest artists out there. You havn't heard Elton John sing with any other group of our era. And the Backstreet Boys defenatly showed N*Sync that night. That is something the boys will probably cherish more then getting an award. As far as Santano winning most of the catagories bsb was under, well i'm happy for him. I was for sure that the boys would win Album of the Year, but owell. I has just happy to see them perform. Nick looked really good. :) To tell you the truth, when they came on the TV, i screamed into the pillow, aspecially when they showed a close up of nick. But anyway, i'm sure the boys will win some awards at the grammy in the future. They won in my hearts.

2. When they sang "I'll make love to you" oh my god people sign me up fron nick to make love to me anytime, cause i wish they sang that song more often baby!
3. The performance with Sir Elton John was GREAT! That is a big honor to be able to sing with someone like Elton John so in your face 'NSYNC!!! you guys didn't even perform.
4. I was a little disappoitned in the fact that they didn't even get 1 grammy, but we know in our hearts that they really did win, because we all know they would have won if it wasn't for CARLOS..........
All in all i thought that it was great night, they all looked so great, it was so great but they didn't win but thats ok, and i just want to point out WHY WAS 'NSYNC THERE!!!!! but i know they won an award but who cares they di not need to be there! Oh well...

As much as I love the Backstreet Boys I do think that Santana did deserve to win the awards that he did. The only one that I felt the BSB should have won over Santana was Album of the year. Millennium was by far the boys best CD and it was one of the top selling cd's of 1999 and i feel that they really did deserve the album of the year. Even though they deserved it we all knew that they had virtually no chance of getting it, it was Santana's year and the voter's were obviously going to choose a legend over a new young band. But they were nominated for 5 awards and thats still a big accomplishment, plus they gave a really good performance and who knows this year was Sanatana's year maybe next will be the year of the Backstreet boys.

You know what? As upset as I am that BSB didn't win, I must say that I still think that Santana deserves the recognition he is finally getting. He is amazing on the guitar. I stopped to listen when he performed at the Grammy's. I don't know much about guitar music but I know that what I heard was unique. To stop and really listen may seem like a little thing, but it's not. Stopping and really listening with an open mind is not something many people do. And here is where I go into my little shpeel about BSB. I swear if people who stereotyped BSB really stopped and listened to them they would realize that these 5 guys have a uniqueness about them. So the industry didn't give them the recognition they deserve. Who the f--- cares! Nick, Brian, AJ, Howie, and Kevin stand behind what they do and they believe in it. That's how they have come so far and that's how they are going to last. They were jipped at the Grammy's this year, but does that mean ANYTHING!!?? YES!!! It means that the industry wanted to say, yea these guys are talented and that's why we give them 4 nominations but we can't award them an award! What would people think!
Well, newsflash damn it. Pop music is still music and talent is still talent. Talent is talent is talent no matter what genre it's in. There vocals blow me away. There music touches me and that's what I will remember, not how many Grammy's they won.

The Backstreet Boys' performance went really well. I loved how all the guys looked like they were having a wonderful time singing with Elton John. The only thing I found wrong with the Grammys concerning the Backstreet Boys was the "Album of the Year" award. The Backstreet Boys, to my knowledge, have had record-breaking sales of their sophomore album, "Millenium." Even though Santana did very well, I do not think he had as much success as the Backstret Boys. I think he received that award not based on record sales, but amazement that he made such a comeback after his absence from the music scene. All the other awards I wanted the Backstreet Boys to win, but weren't sure if Santana honestly did better in those categories.

Okay...first off like almost everyone else that has written something, I will agree with you! lol The Backstreet Boys were ripped off at the Grammy's. The Grammy's are chosen by 10,000 voters. Both my mother and I said: Are 9,500 of those voters too old to have aopen-mind for what good music is? I think that our boys deserved AT LEAST one award. Santana has been around for a while and he has worked very hard, but the Backstreet have worked their asses off to get where they are! Who cares if they won the Grammy's(even if they are the most 'important' awards show), in my book... they will always win!

im back. hi.ok first of all---the grammys honor MUSICIANS, NOT ONLY singers. i love the boys as much as the next fan....but what i dont get is how some people are surprised and shocked that carlos santana won all those awards....bet ya the boys WERENT. santana is a living legend who was NEVER honored for his acomplishments before now. yes the boys SHOULD have recived best pop album, maybe best group w/ vocals. but all the other belonged to santana and if for one second you even expected that the boys would win those, your delousional. this was santana year. also grammy wins are NOT based on album sales, fan bases, or stage shows. they are based on critiques choices....and sorry if its hard to digest but the critiques just dont RESPECT the boys. anyone who tells me im not a fan for writing this, tell me your defintion of a fan. cause if it even resembles not being open minded, and only listening to the bsb then im about as far from a fan that you can get. but if your idea of a fan is someone who listens, picks out mistakes (yes they do make mistakes...not during the grammys...but ive seen a few doozies), and acts like a critique then you have me...im that kind of fan. im 16 and i dont worship the ground the bsb walks on...i listen to the music cause i enjoy it....which leads up to the last thing i have to say about this....some of you are starting to sound like only WINNING awards is important (not to mention do you know how mush of an honor it is to even be NOMINATED)...what happened to the integrity of the music and the talent. what happened to the family like fan base i remember from '95. also what is with all of us going at each others throats...do you see kid rock and limp bizkit fans, doing that when they dont agree. no you dont. bring it back to the music people...shake off all the losses...cherish the wins...then realize the world is a fickle place and nobody ever said life was fair...after that say to yourself 'who cares what the critiques (who are you parents age and older, only the most respected)...well get em next year'....besides even if they dont win ANY awards the music (what we love) will always be there...and cant be taken away, no matter what.

P.S.- sorry, i had a really bad day...then i read what some people wrote...you just have to say...dont they think first.

Total rip off. I was mad that Santana came away with 9 or 8 however many he manged to "win." I think it's totally not fair. BSB should have at least one 1 award. They work 10 time's harder then Santana. He just stands up there and play's the freakin' guitar while someone else sings. How the heck can he win 9 awards for that? They should have a 3 grammy policy. Meaning, you cant win more then 3. Give the other HARD WORKING ARTIST THAT DO MORE THEN JUST PLAY THE GUITAR WHILE SOMEONE ESLE'S SINGS a chance to win something. Santana needs to go awwway

First of all, I would like to say (like a true BSB fan) I thought that BSB should have won at least *one* grammy. I am not disappointed, however, that Santana won all the grammys. I am just dissapointed that he would have to use Everlast and Lauryn Hill to get recognition for the Grammys. Oh, yeah, SANTANA DOES SING! He's practically a living legend, and I am disappointed that today's youth are more wrapped up in Rick Martin's artificial Latin music, and have no real knowledge of Latin music. I also think that Cher and the other older artists who got Grammys (Except for maybe Sting) deserved their awards. This was their night. The BSB will have their night someday, too.
Kevin, Santana and Cher rock, and I wish Kevin and Brian happiness with their new wives.

********READ THIS PLEASE*********OK Sit back this is going to take awhile. People need to wake up and get a clue. Who cares if the boys didn't win a
Grammy. Sure I was disappointed, but in the end the only thing that really matters is that the boys put on a kick @$$
perfomance. I have never heard the boys sing so well. I was really impressed. I mean I knew the boys could sing well
but they just blew me away. To all the haters I could give a flying poop, yeah you heard me , a flying poop. And to the so called
fans complaing about how the boys looked, I can honestly say that I don't understand you. I mean Im totally in it for the
music, dont get me wrong being hot is total gravy I wont lie. But good looks dont keep me coming back for more.
I love them no matter what they look like if nick has a pimple, if kevin has a bad hair day
Im tellin you now I don't care.
I know the boys have so much music still in them. I cannot wait until their next album. IF the tasty stuff they sang
at the grammys is any indication of things to come Im afraid I'll be a fan for some time(No pay check for you)
If they never win a Grammy Im happy. If I never see their video at # 1 on TRL I would truly be happy, If they sell
less then N'sync I dont care,do you get it. The only thing that would upset me is if they stop making music. To compare
them to anyone else is stupid, these boys may have started out as a formula band, but right now their making their own
way in this music business, trying new things, sometimes failing and sometimes succeding, that is why I like these
guys so much, their human and they make mistakes, but mostly they sing like nobody I know, and that makes me happy.
I dont care what critics say I dont care what some guy on MTV says(KISS MY BOOBOO CARSON AND DAVE),
I only listen to what I think. as long as they keep knocking
me out in concert and singing like angels, I be pretty darn happy yup, uhhu. SO to some up, I LIKE THE MUSIC
DONT CARE ABOUT AWARDS, DONT LIKE HATERS, FORGET ABOUT CRITICS. Ok any questions, class dismissed
