Ok. Santana deserved the awards, I don't see why Sting won the pop album, not BSB. But other than that BSB was nominated in every category with Santana. And if I remember corectly at the American Music Awards they didn't expect to win anything because in both categories they were nominated with him. Also, this is the Grammy's people, and even though their the most prestigous award in music they don't totally reflect the atmosphere of music today. Legends allways have a better chance, no matter how good a group their up against. Anyway, if it maked you feel better The Beatles, who are probably one of the best groups in the history of the world didn't win a Grammy until after they split up, when they got a lifetime acheivment award!

Wow, Santana really took over this one. I know he got a few hits...but, seriously, wow. I didn't expect this in a million years. the dude's talented, sure, but I was pretty sure our Boys deserved at least one award. I was compeletely surprised when Sting one for Best Pop Album. I think that should've bee BSB's by far. Hell, I even thought they were gonna win the Album of The Year! Oh, well. They performed twice, got props from Elton John, and goofed off with Rosie. I just loved watching them sing. Besides, there's always next year....!

Hey! I think Santana deserved the awards for record and song because Smooth was such a huge hit! It was at the top of the charts for a long time! On the other hand, I think BSB deserved the awards for pop album of the year and probably even album of the year because their album was such a big success and they broke records with it! For instance, they broke the record for most albums sold in the first week of sales and it also is in the top ten albums that sold the most in the 1990's. I think it is at #8, but I am not sure if this is it's exact position. Still, I know it's in the top ten. They should have also won Best Vocal Performance by a Pop Group or Duo. I think "I Want It That Way" had a bigger impact than "Maria, Maria". Whenever people hear the line "tell me why", most of them know what comes after it. It seems like it even makes people who aren't that crazy about the Boys's music want to sing along. My mom is a diehard country fan and she even knows the words to the song and sings along with it! I think it was great that they performed twice and their performances really showed off their talent! Even my mom commented on Nick's voice and said it sounded good! I think even though BSB didn't walk away with any awards they still came away winners because their performances got more people to recognize their true talent! KTBSPA!

Ok. So they didn't win. Yeah Santana swept. The guy deserved it. Most of you don't really know what Santana has done for music. He is one of the greatest guitar players ever..that man can do things with that instrument that others could never attempt. True enough that they deserved pop album and record of the year, but other than that, they were doomed from the start. It takes power to come back after years and still be recognized, he deserved those wins. Just think of it this way people: They sang with the best, the best was impressed. They performed twice in one night, and that is awesome..something that doesnt happen every year. The guys made it through the first round of voting, so they are recognized..they just didn't make it through the second. Saying that Santana didn't deserve it is pure ignorance. BSB is by fave group, and I will always cherish and respect their music, but I also know that I have to keep a level head about me and accept reality.they are great, but they arent that great yet. The time will come when the BSB are finally recognized for their true talent, and it would be nice if that time was soon, but until then, lets just prove the critics and others wrong by not being infantile and immature about this whole thing. you have a right to be angry, but don't be ignorant and say dumb things, it only makes you look bad, and we all know that you guys really arent that bad. At 14, maybe I am out of my place for speaking as I am, but it enrages me to see people doing the very thing that they get mad about-disrespecting other peoples' music. living a life of hypocrisy is a dangerous way to live. I don't think that it was fair that Santana won all of those awards. In a way, he deserves it, but come on. Of course all of those people were going to vote for him, because most of them are older. That is not fair. I think that these award shows should be made fair, and not let one artist get all the awards. That's stupid. It's not giving the other artists a chance.

First off I want to make it clear that the talent of a band does not always stem from the vocalist. In fact it is usually those who play the instruments that are the most talented. While singing can add a nice dimension to music it is not essential (hence instrumentals). I am aware that there are also musical pieces which contain only vocals but these are not common and do not allow the artists much freedom. My point is this: Santana is an incredible artist both because he can write music and also because he is able to venture outside of what he has written and improvise on his instrument with clean precision and true feeling. The Backstreet Boys simply do not have the ability to expariment with their music since it is based on vocals. This inability to improvise is the major downfall of most of todays music. A truely talented musicion is able to do things with his or her instrument that are new to their genre and span beyond what is written on paper (even if their instrument is their voice, for example Chris Isaak) I have a younger sister who enjoys the BSB and I have no problem with their music. The lyrics are good and they all have nice voices but their ability to sell millions of albums has more to do with mass marketing and physical appearance than actual talent. I hope you don't consider this to be bashing I was simply tired of hearing ignorant people b*tch about Santana.

You people are sick, sad people. Getting pissed off because the backstreet boys didnt win. Santand deserved it and even if he didnt its low to say he sucks. Hes a great guitar player. I agree on some levels with people who have said that Rob Thomas deserved credit, but he didnt get it oh well. Neither of them are gay. I dont care who won and didnt win. Its just a stupid little award. You people are sad, and I pity you all who are obsessed with them and get mad at them not winning and people like amy expressing their opinions. This is america. the first amendment assures us we have the freedom of speech.

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck is wrong with people?! The BSB should have won album of the year by a mile! I mean come on now people, Santana? Santana just popped out of know where again all of a sudden, and now the won all those Grammys, the BSB have been working there asses off for 6 years, and came away with nothing. now how fair is that? And another thing, at least our boys can do and sing their own music. Santana can't even do a song by himself. If it wasn't for the good ones like Rob Thomas and Lauren Hill, there would be no Santana. Now don't you agree people of the world? how fair is that? think about it. KTBSBPA FOREVER AND SUPPORT OUR GUYS THROUGH THE UNFAIR TIMES! And Congrats Brian and Kevin, i'm sooooo happy for you, and if you're a bsb fan and not happy for them, then how can you call yourself a fan!
